I was not all that impressed with the first two. I was hopeful that number three would be the charm. It was! My first priority was quality of the output of the hearing aids. Second, I wanted caring, competent, and friendly service--at a reasonable price. Side note: the second hearing center I visited was manned by a gentleman whose previous employment was lumber supervisor. He was now a "hearing aid specialist." At Anacortes Hearing Center (AHC) the owner/operator has a PhD in audiology and has years, if not decades, of experience. During the process of learning about, testing and experiencing what the AHC had to offer, I knew I was in the right place. I ended up buying a pair of Oticon aids. And while the hearing devices are exceptional (of all the units I tried), the Oticon was light years ahead of the others. I did road test multiple devices at the first two locations. The first location let me wear two different pairs of aids for a couple of weeks. The second wanted payment up-front for me to wear them home. Honestly, I was not at all impressed with number two. Spending a lot of money and wanting to get the most for my dollars is a big deal. I was happy that I did the weeks of research. It paid off in spades. I especially like that when my cell phone rings the voice is right in my ear--and private. The software, too, is exceptional. But the service I received from Dr. Kennedy and her assistant, Lindsey, was absolutely fabulous. I could not ask for more. Dr. Kennedy was dedicated to getting my situation right. And she did. Whether you are going to do the tedious research or just want to go into one good place and "git er done," look no further. I hope this review helps you.

I came in skeptical about whether I even needed hearing aids, which must have made providing an unbiased assessment challenging. Holly never pushed, never rushed, and never treated the decision as transactional. Her style is low-pressure, supportive, and centered on helping you arrive at a conclusion you feel confident about. She explained my hearing results clearly, answered every question, and showed what felt like unlimited patience as we evaluated options. She provided two different demo sets of hearing aids--and made it clear she was willing to continue with whatever testing or comparisons I needed. After I chose my devices, Holly continued to offer guidance while I adapted to them. She encourages follow-up questions, checks in on progress, and genuinely wants her patients to succeed. They were very knowledgeable and through this specific third party insurance he was eligible for new hearing aids (the last place said every 5 yrs when it was actually every 3 yrs). My dad is very happy with this new clinic. Not only did they get him some new top-of-the-line hearing aids that are 100% better than his last set, but they educated him extensively on the care and maintenance of the new hearing aids. Very friendly, customer service is top shelf and my elderly dad has never been more happy about his hearing aids. They also have such a cute clinic dog that is very friendly and loves to play with her balloon while you wait. I do not recommend the services provided by this Audiologist. Their website states they will look…read moreinto insurance benefits regarding coverage on behalf of the customer. After services rendered, I found this to be a gross misstatement. They declined my request to submit a claim on my behalf even though they were paid in full at the time of service. They flat-out stated that insurance providers don't cover services for audiology testing and that they wouldn't submit a claim for that reason. In fact my provider does, but they were lazy and wouldn't bother to check. I said I would submit the claim myself, but efforts to obtain the necessary medical codes and support documentation were met with resistance and rudeness by the front desk clerk. My impression was that this business is inexperienced with providing insurance claims for their customers and did not have the general knowledge of current claim practices or protocols. Nor did they appear to even care. They provide an extreme disservice to all their customers, especially Seniors who are generally unable to navigate the complex claim process on their own.

She has always worked hard to find better solutions from my existing hearing aides, even when she had not encountered my specific problems before. She went to Harborview where she waited 20 hours with zero treatment provided. Thanks for that referral! Since that time, she has attempted phone calls to Dr. Yuan for further advice as her blindness worsens with each day, still "crickets" from this clinic. Is this really how we are treating our disabled blind patients these days? They can't drive to get there, a simple question answered regarding next step would be nice. Crickets from this doctor. Top notch above and beyond service - and not just for eyes…read more I came over from one of the San Juan islands by ferry, and left my money purse accidentally on the ferry so when i got to my appointment i had NO money, wallet, or ID. They were so KIND to me. A customer gave me some money, front desk let me call the ferry from their phone since my cell phone was also in the bag. They also made calls on my behalf. THEN one of the ladies who helps with eyeglasses gave me $20 more so I could get back to the ferry and have enough for lunch and walk on the ferry. Not only that! Every visit I've ever had, everyone - and I mean Everyone - in that office is so kind and pleasant. They have top notch equipment to help monitor glaucoma and techs who know what they're reading. Dr. Ashey is kind, fun, informative, and I just love her and all her staff! I can't recommend them enough. It's always a delight to see her and her marvelous staff.
