The place is an absolute SLICE OF HEAVEN paradise ~ only a little over an hour away from us... but a whole other magical, peaceful world, altogether! Dog friendly, eco-conscious, immaculate, totally charming, and replete with the most amazing owners, Jake and Cody, who quickly became our new best friends (along with their two sweet dogs)! They drove us in their Gator into the national forest (located right across the street), to go morel hunting - and we had great success! It was amazing!!! And they made us Bellinis in the morning with homemade rhubarb preserve using rhubarb from their garden, and bonfires in the evening, replete with s'mores. The bunk house we rented was adorable, quaint, spacious and comfortable, and we felt like we were at sleep-away camp, which brought back the happiest feelings of nostalgia for both my husband and myself. (They also have RV hook-ups overlooking the glorious lake/creek)! The rental of the bunkhouse came with full access to the awesome mess hall below, with a big screen TV, comfy couches, tables and chairs and a full kitchen! This place is a must visit peaceful paradise. The expansive beauty and charm is breathtaking and the accommodations and hospitality are absolutely unparalleled! We had the most relaxing, wonderful time at the retreat/resort and with Jake and Cody and their doggies! Can't recommend it highly enough. We will definitely make going to Ruby Creek Resort a regular pastime!

All sites overlook the beautiful Pend Oreille river as the intentionally limited number of sites makes all sites waterfront. We enjoyed using the Kayaks and float tubes provided free of charge. We also explored the area up Ruby Creek and loved being in this quiet piece of heaven. The owners Jake and Cody were wonderful and made our stay perfect.

Additionally, the price we had to pay was about $10 higher than what they listed in their website, and they said they had changed recently but the website wasn't updated yet. Frustrating, as the price point was one of the reasons we came here. All things considered though, a nice clean spot for a night.

There are a few hiccups, though, and some of them are head-scratchin'. While every site is FHU, not everyone (us!) connect water/sewer, so proximately of the bathroom facilities is important. You have two options: an actual roadside rest area hundreds of yards away; and, the tribal market hundreds of yards away. But when the market is closed, you only have the other option after hours. Another issue is how unlevel the tarmac site pads are. We did all we could with what we had, and it wasn't enough. Not a deal breaker though. Like their sister property in Airway Heights WA (Northern Quest), there are a lot of rules and restrictions on tribal property. But again, not something that would cause us not to return. I'm no gambler, but the Wifey reported their slots were tighter than a frog's sphincter, yet she's smart enough to bail on losing after $40. It stings to know that's wasted money, but she works hard, and if she gets a little enjoyment out of that, so be it. I must mention, the entire staff of the casino, market, and RV maintenance crew were all happy and friendly, and boy that goes a long way with me...

When we arrived, not only was Steve there to show us to our spot, but several others currently staying. For our rig size, it was a close call and tight fit getting in, but once in our spot it was perfect. They got us in site 11 no problem. Is it an impersonal overly polished concrete and blacktop parking lot style RV Park with perfect level geometry/symmetry everywhere you look? No, but it was one of the best and most relaxing locations we've been so far. It's in the middle of a game preserve, so there are numerous deer routinely wandering around the area. Ahhh nature! As far as quiet goes, evenings were like a cemetery (in a good way). Just lots of peace and quiet to enjoy your surroundings. And the sunsets on the dock & beach! They are about as idyllic as you can get for lakefront property. We spent time swimming, kayaking, and just siting our on the dock enjoying the sunshine. I can speak for the internet/WiFi as we had great T-Mobile reception and so were only on our own hotspots the entire time. 60Mbit down / 8.9Mbit up. Perfectly suited to my purposes.

There is an excellent restaurant on premises, with finer dining options, along with affordable standards. There are a couple shower/bathroom combos available, with a few obligatory pee-atoriums for the tent campers who don't have rigs. With plenty of old growth trees, it has a rather 'woodsy' feel, which is what one wants in a camping experience. Everyone is friendly. Staff, campers, folks at the resto, were all smiles and pleasant. We enjoyed our stay here, but I have my eye on perhaps visiting mid-week, or in the shoulder seasons for a more quiet experience. However, if I were a few decades younger, I would have partied my a** off, and would be here every other weekend...

The spots are level, that's important in a small rig like ours. The place is super clean and the bathrooms are a dream! The folks in the campground are mostly just passing through and some are there for a couple days to enjoy all the outdoor activities. Those there for awhile are super friendly and helpful, we me several in our little world of chaos! The owner though, he's the real hero of this little haven! We arrived later in the evening only to find an entire group of folks in our spot. Well, what we thought was our spot!! We called the after hours number and one of the folks actually texted the owner for us. Lo and behold, in the year and a half on the road, I had mixed up the reservation date! We were scheduled to be there the day before and they were full that night! The owner found us a spot to park though, luckily with a plug in since it was so hot!! The bed and linens were very comfortable, and the store, showers and laundry will likely be some of the nicest you'll run across in your travels. Their caring, attention to detail and years of experience with luxury vacation rentals and real estate sets them apart. Nice RV spots, grounds are well maintained and beautiful. For "glamping", the Conestoga Wagons are fun, and there are actual Tipi spots coming that'll be right among the trees! Be sure to walk the nature trail through the woods when you're here.
