The place is an absolute SLICE OF HEAVEN paradise ~ only a little over an hour away from us... but a whole other magical, peaceful world, altogether! Dog friendly, eco-conscious, immaculate, totally charming, and replete with the most amazing owners, Jake and Cody, who quickly became our new best friends (along with their two sweet dogs)! They drove us in their Gator into the national forest (located right across the street), to go morel hunting - and we had great success! It was amazing!!! And they made us Bellinis in the morning with homemade rhubarb preserve using rhubarb from their garden, and bonfires in the evening, replete with s'mores. The bunk house we rented was adorable, quaint, spacious and comfortable, and we felt like we were at sleep-away camp, which brought back the happiest feelings of nostalgia for both my husband and myself. (They also have RV hook-ups overlooking the glorious lake/creek)! The rental of the bunkhouse came with full access to the awesome mess hall below, with a big screen TV, comfy couches, tables and chairs and a full kitchen! This place is a must visit peaceful paradise. The expansive beauty and charm is breathtaking and the accommodations and hospitality are absolutely unparalleled! We had the most relaxing, wonderful time at the retreat/resort and with Jake and Cody and their doggies! Can't recommend it highly enough. We will definitely make going to Ruby Creek Resort a regular pastime!

The indoor seating is quant, lots of fishing and hunting gear line the walls and there is a fireplace that must be wonderfully inviting in the winter months. There is also outdoor seating, a few picnic tables covered with plastic, although when we arrived around 5:00 PM the sprinklers were on so the tables were wet. Both inside windows and outside afford a beautiful view over looking the lake. Noticing the small bar, I ordered a Mai Tai and my man ordered a Captain Morgan and diet. The young waitress brought me the worst most sour tasting green drink I have ever had. When I asked her what it was she said she didn't drink so she didn't know what a Mai Tai was, she just made something up. Ok, we are a long way from civilization so I smiled and asked for water, pushing the green thing aside. My man enjoyed his prime rib very much which came with baked potato and bread. I had a baked potato and a salad from the salad bar. Potato was good. The salad bar was pretty much what you would expect for a wilderness lodge off the beaten path, packaged lettuce, a few veggies and bottles of drippy dressing in an ice tray. We appreciated our meal since we had been camping for a while, so no complaints except for the unusual Mai Tai cocktail that sat there. Service was slow, several people ordering drinks at the little bar, slowed the one and only waitress down. We will come back again next time we are up that way camping, but I would suggest asking WHAT cocktail the waitress knows how to make. I hear they have some signature cocktail that has a lot of alcohol in it - perfect for soothing weary mountaineers.

The only thing I wished they had was a restroom closer than the other side of the boat inlet so time your trip accordingly. LOL I'll update more once I spend more time in the rest of the park. There are a few hiccups, though, and some of them are head-scratchin'. While every site is FHU, not everyone (us!) connect water/sewer, so proximately of the bathroom facilities is important. You have two options: an actual roadside rest area hundreds of yards away; and, the tribal market hundreds of yards away. But when the market is closed, you only have the other option after hours. Another issue is how unlevel the tarmac site pads are. We did all we could with what we had, and it wasn't enough. Not a deal breaker though. Like their sister property in Airway Heights WA (Northern Quest), there are a lot of rules and restrictions on tribal property. But again, not something that would cause us not to return. I'm no gambler, but the Wifey reported their slots were tighter than a frog's sphincter, yet she's smart enough to bail on losing after $40. It stings to know that's wasted money, but she works hard, and if she gets a little enjoyment out of that, so be it. It was funny that locals said the snow conditions weren't great but there was still 20 feet of snow at the base & 40 feet at the summit. That sounded great to me, coming from a state with only a couple inches of snow on the ground! There were 2 chair lifts closed still due to the "low snow" but there were plenty of ski trails open to use. With only $35 for a half-day lift ticket, it was well worth it! I was only on greens/blues and the snow wasn't deep but it was still fluffy (not icy) and groomed well. We were above the clouds and the snow-covered humongous pine trees was breathtaking. Overall Tips: - Half-day lift ticket hours starts at 12:30pm until close (4pm) and only $35! Save an additional $1 if you are a student. - The bunny hill is at chair lift 3. - Take the chair lift 3 up the bunny hill to get to chair lift 4 and the other trails on the backside of the mountain which are worth going to. - The chalet is by no means a fancy mountain resort so you may want to get food elsewhere if you are picky. The food is your typical overpriced greasy fare. The fries, soup & hot cocoa were still good to have as an option though when I needed a quick energy boost. Overall a great option since it's pretty close to Spokane and has some decently long trails. The views above the clouds made my trip! I'd come back again, especially for that price!
