This place is a hidden gem. Tucked away in Eaglemont's small shopping village, this neighborhood cafe is a couple doors down from Eaglemont train station and is a perfect place to grab coffee and a breakfast pastry to go. There's also a large-ish seating area for whiling away the morning with a paper and a coffee, if you have the time.
Eaglemont Dish makes one of the better flat whites I've had in Melbourne in a while - I go out of my way to grab a coffee here instead of other cafes closer to me. The temperature is consistently perfect and the crema is velvety and delicious. I actually find myself saying out loud, "How do they get the crema like that?".
They also have a beautiful selection of home made cakes and pies, as well as pre-made hot and cold meals that you can pick up on the way to or from work. I found myself wishing I still lived here so I could stop by this sweet little cafe every day.
I passed on a Sunday and Dish was closed, along with every shop in the strip except the wine store on the corner. But if you're in the area on a weekday, take a quick detour to stop in for a very good coffee and a home made chicken pie. read more
