Last February I reached out to Eagle Trust for renters insurance. It was very affordable for the year (even the insurance company I work at couldn't compete with the rate after my employee discount). I no longer rent, so when I received a letter informing me that my policy was about to renew, I reached out via e-mail to cancel. The process was the easiest and most pain-free experience ever. Carl emailed me directly and informed me that I just needed to sign an e-form from Cindy. Cindy e-mailed me with the form within the hour and that was that. I got a new letter a few days later in the mail informing me that my policy was cancelled and my new balance is $0. Soooo dishonest Tracey Gundaker!!! She will try to charge you up and make the highest commission off of you. If you are not knowledgeable about how insurance works, take someone along with you who is. Also, carefully go over the policy and figures twice! , and be sure to ask for a receipt. Check the back of your policy under mileage. I bought an old car for just around town, mind you Somerville is only 4.209 square miles big. She put my annual millage as 10, 000 miles. The AAA discount didn't happen. She's greedy for commission, a liar and a cheat. read more

I thought I was done with the incompetent service but no....Where do I begin...First of all when I was given a quote my agent Marie had terrible phone etiquette. I finally got a quote and decided to go with it. The agent did not tell me exactly what documents I needed to bring in so I had to turn around and stop back at home this happened a couple times. I signed up for the runner service to get my car insurance and on the day the runner is supposed to go to the RMV I get a call saying the runner did not have the correct documents. I had to go back in and bring more documents...turns out Marie had them all along. She assured me that she now had the correct documents (even though she already had them) for the runner to go the FOLLOWING week. I asked her to call the runner to make sure these were the correct documents. She did...and they WEREN'T the right documents so I had to fill out more. If I didn't bring it up this would have happened again. Fast forward a month later. I get an email saying my autopay payment was about to come out of my bank account so I thought nothing of it because Marie helped me to sign up for this autopay. I get a call 1 week after this email from Marie to call her back ASAP...oh no. (meanwhile I work too, precisely during the hours of eagle rock insurance and I can't be on my phone because I work with patients). I get an email the same day from my insurance company saying "Urgent: Your Policy is Due to be Canceled". So it seems like the autopay didn't work properly. Hopefully my policy does not get canceled. I will call eagle rock tomorrow. Now I have extra fees due to my payment being late. I will be even more frustrated if my policy gets canceled and/or eagle rock doesn't pay for these extra fees. I am normally a very patient person but this was the last straw! read more

I just moved to Somerville and needed to get my car insured and registered in Massachusetts. My car was previously registered and insured in Alaska, whose rates for both were much lower. ET also has a runner service, who, for $20 will take your title and registration application to the DMV for you and come back, same day with the plates. I ran over to ET to catch the runner in time. So, I decided to give a cold call to Best Rate, knowing that they are in Somerville, across the street from SoundBites. I got to talk to Cindy, who turned out to be the kindest, most knowledgeable and most importantly, most honest insurance agent I've ever spoken to. In a series of email exchanges, alongside the quotes she provided, she offered insider insights and asked the right questions, going item by item over my insurance policy, seeking to see if I could get a better deal than what I have now with my current agent. After all the searches and quotes, it turned out that I would still get a better deal through my current agent, so I decided to stay with my current insurance agent and not to go ahead with Best Insurance. This was a hard decision, driven primarily by economic reasons. Yet it was made easier by knowing that Cindy was totally understandable, and because of her response, she and her agency deserve all the stars in the world!
