On the day after Memorial Day 2017, we left our summer cottage for the 313 mile trip back to our home in Illinois. Our Toyota Sienna was packed to the hilt. As we drove out the driveway, we repeatedly heard (for the first time) a godawful crunching sound coming from the right front. We feared that the vehicle had such a significant problem that it might not be safe to drive it back to Illinois. On the recommendation of Cindy at Eagle River Baking (where we stopped for a sugar high), we drove the vehicle over to Eagle River Service Center/Eagle Transmission. Kurt (Curt?) there immediately stopped what he was doing, came out to do a test drive, and in less than a minute identified the issue as a broken right front spring. He told us that, while we might encounter the noise occasionally on the way back, he himself would not have a problem from a safety standpoint making the 313 mile drive. We then called our local Toyota dealer who confirmed that there should not be a safety issue. Kurt refused to charge us anything for his evaluation. My wife and I repeatedly commented as we drove away on his extraordinary kindness and how he and his company generated strong feelings of trust such that, if the occasion were ever to arise, we would use them for service and strongly recommend them to others, just as Cindy at Eagle Baking had done for us. They clearly recognize that these acts of simple human kindness may generate more business than a great deal of expensive advertising. Please spread the word! Bill Owen, Deerfield, Illinois.

We had to be out by Saturday. When she pulled into the resort I could hear that she had grinding coming from the rear area of the vehicle. After calling other garages in the area, all booked out to later the following week, I was lucky enough to speak with Scott . Their service department had a similar timeline but he said if I got over there asap he could have a tech take a look at it. Now mind you, service closes at four and I roll in at about three, he hears how bad it was and said "Hey we're gonna take care of you." They had most of the work done before closing but ended up needing one more part which was installed Friday morning. Great job !!

I got out & looked, and noticed a broken rod hanging next to the drivers side tire of our GMC Acadia. We SLOWLY drove to Parsons, HOPING they would be open on the Saturday of July 4th weekend.... Lucky for us, they were. And they fit us in right away since we were trying to get home. They quickly diagnosed the issue. The Service Advisor, Ashley, brought me out to the service floor & showed me the damage- Broken driver's side sway bar, plus I would need to replace the sway link AND Driver CV Axle. What was I going to do? I had to get home. It was a holiday weekend, I'm from out of state, and I HAD to get home. They could pretty much charge me whatever they wanted, because I was stuck. They basically had me bent over a barrel...... But here's the thing- They didn't try to take advantage of the situation! Ashley and the service tech told me that although they COULD fix it, they wouldn't be able to get parts until Tuesday. They also were upfront & honest and told me that although it is important that everything is repaired as soon as possible, I WOULD be able to drive home to Illinois SAFELY and have everything fixed there. PLUS, they gave me a parts quote with the replacement part numbers to make everything easier when we got back. I was thrilled just to hear that I was able to drive the car home. They were fast, friendly, & HONEST. And when they handed me the paperwork & my keys, I asked them what I owed- "Nothing. Just drive safe" was their answer. THANK YOU ASHLEY! YOU PARSONS OF EAGLE RIVER! The whole thing took you less than 20 minutes, but I will remember this for a lifetime.

I've never left a yelp review until today…read more The owner is incredibly rude. I took in my fiances Kia Niro and the guy had no idea what oil it took so I told him and he goes thanks bud I'm the expert here... Great start. He proceeded to tell me how he owned the place... Congrats bud. I don't think there was a second that he wasn't bitching and complaining. Telling me not to go back to the last place I got the oil change done, complaining about anything and everything. I leave the dealership thinking at that point well at least it's over with and I'm done listening to that grumpy guy. Unfortunately that wasn't the worst of it. We're up north at the cabin at this time for about two weeks. We don't drive the car much and park it on a gravel road so the opportunity for us to notice the oil leaking was minimal. It wasn't until we drove the car back home and had it parked on a paved road that we noticed the oil. At this point, I'm thinking great this things been leaking for two weeks and we just drove it 300 miles to get home. Immediately I take it to the Valvoline oil change next door. They were kind enough to inspect it and let us know the genius owner of Northwoods Oil & Lube doesn't even know how to properly change the oil on a car. They show me the picture of the oil leaking from the drain plug and let me know that guy didn't replace the gasket. So in order to fix the issue they have to take out the drain plug and replace the gasket which would result in all the oil being dumped and changing the oil again. Hey, mistakes happen. I get it. So I call Mr. Hot Shot Owner and let him know he made a mistake and asked that he refunds me because I'm not driving the five hours back to Eagle River to get it fixed. He then calls me a liar, calls Valvoline a liar and requests to talk to Valvoline himself. I give him the tech's number and I had it because he sent me the picture of the oil dripping and so he calls him. 45 minutes go by and he calls me back. This part left me speechless. He proceeds to make up a lie that I didn't listen to their tech blah blah blah... And the biggest tell that he was lying was that he couldn't even control his ego. He had to throw in the story about how everything looked great and that there was no issue. So I reach out to the tech from Valvoline and he says he never talked to Mr. Hot Shot Owner. In short, I've never, ever had such poor customer service and not only did this guy charge me $60 something for a half assed oil change but he doesn't have the balls to admit his own wrong doing. Buddy, let this review help change they way you live. No one gives af that you own that place, and no one asked - so quit talking about it. And more importantly, have the integrity to admit you aren't always right. Gaslighting a customer doesn't typically bode well for customer retention. And I hope this yelp review makes people think twice about wanting to be a new customer of yours.

I was a little upset when I got there because this has happened to me before with other dealers and I had told them that when on the phone making the appointment. Also I had cords showing through my rear tire and really needed a new one NOW. So after a few harsh words and a mean mugging from me I went outside to think about what I was going to do. After a few minutes a young mechanic came out to talk to me about their FUBAR and to apologize again. A long story short the mechanic was the owners son and a combat vet, the kind of guy who makes things happen. When they couldn't find me a tire at any other local dealers he went through their stash of used tires and found one that had previously been plugged with low miles that fit the wing and asked me if I could live with that for now? My answer... Hell Yeah! He installed it himself and in less than an hour I was on the road and the bike was rolling through curves smooth a silk again. They also gave me a great deal on the tire and install because they knew they screwed up. Now I'm old military and I've got to say they took their ass chewing like men and made things happen. Now Nate, the owners son, is a solid dude and was in no way going to have me ride home on a tire showing cords. He told me during the scramble to find me a tire he was going to give me a loner bike to ride home if nothing panned out. I can work with guys like that. So thanks Hodag! The reason you guys are five stars is because I can't give you six.
