For what it is, it's pretty good. Inexpensive pub food that is pub style tasty. The beer is 5 stars in my opinion for their own brews which are tasty and seasonal. Almost any bar that serves up their own beer tends to be at least 4 stars in my book. TVs up and about for the game. No I wouldn't *expect* amazing service at this local *pub*, but yes I have always had pretty good service here. The place is very old time saloon feeling as its name implies. This place always seems to be a pleasant surprise. It seems like a basic local watering hole when you arrive, but then the food usually overdelivers. I tried their surf and turf salad (I think it was the most pricey thing on the menu but under $20), which turned out to be steak tips and lightly fried bay scallops---absolutely tasty and a combination I have never seen before. Wash everything down with a crisp blueberry ale and you will be good to go. Fun and affordable as well. read more

I just love this place. It's authentic, it's local, it's real! And Jimmy is great! Their beers are great -- try the Oatmeal Stout! They have a beer club. Love that, since I love their beers and this place is right down the road from me. The food is quite good, I've never been disappointed. They have a great pizza deal (BOGO). The fried whole belly clams were a special, and were excellent. I really wish they had a turkey burger. Watch out though, this place gets packed, frequently. This was my first time here, it was nice but not stellar. Pub food and atmosphere with a "ye-old west" touch. The place itself looked cool, good for a friend's-day lunch. I ordered the Smoked Provolone burger, medium. It arrived hot, but seemed to have sat on the dish for a while, so that the juice from the burger made half the bottom bun a little soggy; I'm not a complainer unless something is truly atrocious, so I just flipped my burger upside down and enjoyed it anyway. It was good, a little charred on one side, but still good. I imagine if I were a picky person this would have bothered me, but the food was generally good and we had a good time. Our waitress was polite and pretty quick, so overall, yeah, I'd return here. Maybe next time I'll get something without a bun though. read more

Good food, fantastic atmosphere. Service was a bit slow, but we were taking in a game and catching up with conversation. And honestly, our server was great, she looked busy but not harried. It's a little gem on this side of the state. A nice alternative to the 99's and Chili's of the world. My friend was also impressed and was marveling about the atmosphere. We were geeking out on some of the saloon like touches. Don't be intimidated by the parking in back. We arrived to what looked like a full lot, but we were seated promptly. It was a long day of minin', robbin trains and splorin' the frontier of southeastern massachusetts. Our trusty guide, chief google white feather, arranged for a rootin tootin good time at the eagle brook saloon. A paradox of an establishment, way o'er yonder, south of the boston prairie, where one finds them city slickin wolves who'll charge 3 gold nuggets for them fancy like beers and "organic" foods. The grub was warm and the beer was gold. At first impression I was hankering and half-expecting rabbit or horsemeat, but much to my chagrin, the steak tacos were delectable. The services provided by our waitress were satisfactory and down right much abliged. Given the number of patrons and the condition of the saloon, management should reinvest the nuggets to provide a cleaner, less brawl-scene atmosphere. Perhaps invest in some real saloon doors to seal the deal. read more

Awsome beer menu, they have 11 of their "own" beers on tap or so, plus a few guest taps. The food is ok bar food in my opinion, I have had better and much worse. The reason I go back is the beer menu and the atmosphere. I can't believe that I have lived 10 miles from this place for two years and didn't know about it. Pleasantly surprised by this place. It was recommended to us, and it has its own line of craft beers, which were not bad! Unassuming on the outside, but The atmosphere inside was, as my friend Elyse would say, "old timey". it really felt more like an old saloon. It had cool alcoves and balconies overlooking the bar area. It is pretty casual and I was skeptical about the food, but there were some creative items on the menu and all of our food was really good. The service was also not disappointing. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

With all the new restaurants and bar's in the area, Eaglebrook remains one of my favorites. Beer selection is fantastic, Blueberry Ale is delicious, I was ever surprised to see Racer 5 on tap when I went recently. Beer is good priced as well. The food is great. Most recently, I had the buffalo chicken pizza. 10" pie was perfect size for one person. nice taste, nice crust... a good pie... wife had the fried calimari/scrod plate. 3 huge pieces of fish and a good pile of calamari, over a pile of fries and slaw. Way more than one person should be able to finish. In the past, we've had their burgers and other sandwiches, but the buffalo chicken nachos are the best. Oh.. and the brews are top notch. Stepping into this old-timey saloon is sort of like going through a time warp. A very neat concept in what seems like a very random location. They have a GREAT beer selection, which includes about 8 or 9 beers brewed exclusively for them by Ipswich brewery, in addition to the Opa-Opa line (MA). Waitstaff was very accommodating! We showed up late & were picky about our table (and our whiskey), but they were willing to move us around and make multiple runs to the bar! My only complaint about this place was the pizza I ordered. It was really not my style. It sort of taste like a frozen pizza, with freezer burned cheese... Otherwise the food was not bad. Good pub-style American fare. We ended up going here on a whim, and I am glad we did. I would gladly go back here for drinks! Amazing food selections (the Buffalo Chicken Dip is a must and the pizzas are great), amazing drink selections and friendly staff. Service is always timely and accurate. The menu has several comfort food dishes, plenty of delicious pizza options and is great when you're out with people with varied food preferences. The specials are always creative and fresh. Love the buffalo shrimp cesar salad entree. Been here many times...and its a stand-by for our entire family. Are the townies there? Sure, but most of 'em are harmless and many of 'em are friendly. The wine list could be improved but beer drinkers are happy with the microbrews. The cocktails are tall. p.s. The Eagle Brook is NOT a "dive." Eagle Brook is a place that can be a real go-to place in the area. A local landmark of sorts, with their signature, Blueberry Ale, with fresh/frozen blueberries in the beer. They do have some private rooms which are great for informal meetings and such. The decor and setting is compelling enough with old time Saloon like feeling. Food is standard pub fare, nothing out of the ordinary but okay. It is a good place to have a beer with an old friend or two. 3 stars seems a bit less but 4 would be too much :). 3.5 starts in my book. read more

Been here a hundred times in past for drinks and food over the years.... went today with party if 10 at 2 pm when place was slow. Kids were hungry and I asked server is she could take kids order first and bring please bring out when ready regardless of other food. Waitress appeared annoyed at request.. kids got food last, one order was a bowl of chili.. she clearly wasn't paying attention or didn't care I ordered bacon cheeseburger med well. It came out so overlooked and without cheese. I would have sent it back but waitress disappeared for a while. Place use to have best burgers, my tastes like it was cooked yesterday. This place has great food and about a bilizion different beers on tap. I had the Sheppard's pie, and it was delicious. Other in our party had fish, and steak, and the portions were generous, and the consensus was that the kitchen crew had their act together. A slice of the wild west in New England? Well, the owners have done their best and the result are pretty convincing. The real story is better, the place is very old, and was a bordello many years ago, one can see evidence of an old stage, and the upstairs is sliced into several rooms... I guess the wild west theme would be more acceptable than going with a "former sporting house" type of theme for this family friendly pub! Well, if you like your beer cold you are going to get your food cold too! Me and my mother saw all of the good reviews of this place with high hopes. It eventually was anti-climatic. She got the prime rib and I got the steak tacos. We then ordered the smoky wings I think they were called. When we got the wings... they were drenched in sauce. You couldn't even taste the chicken tender. The tenders seem like they were in a freezer and just got taken out to be fried. Don't even get me started on the service. That is as slow as the food comes out. It took almost an hour and a half to get 3 items. When the tacos came you get the littlest pieces of steak. They are about 1 centimeter long and you get like four of them with some sauces. The prime rib... don't get the end cut. It just sits there (that's what it tasted like anyway) it was like it was thrown on the grill for 2 minutes and then put on a plate with some mashed sweet potato. 'This place was absolutely garbage. If you want good food and a good atmosphere with good service do not go here. read more

We went last Saturday night at 5:25 pm and did not receive our food until 7pm. The wait was ridiculously long and with 2 little ones under 6 it was an uncomfortable wait in the cramped entrance. The service was exceptionally slow and the waitstaff were clearly overwhelmed with the sheer number of people in the restaurant. That's the bad news. The good news is that the food was decent as far as bar food goes and I would go back and try it one more time however, per the advice of the hostess...make a reservation next time. read more

Aaaah...The Eaglebrook!!!...A piece of True Americana.....What a great gathering place for people coming from all over southern New England going to the Football Game!!...The decor is western...or so....and lots of interesting material to read on the walls.. Comfort food.....nothing' fancy...good ole fashioned comfort food......A menu chock full of tasty faire and servers with a smile..who are attentive..but yet not overbearing..Great pizza and chowdah....Burgers are pretty good as well...and everything priced fairly. Out of the many times over the years that I've patronized this venue, I think I might have had..maybe..... one bad experience.... Lot's of nice people...sometimes loud...but a fun kinda loud rather than the obnoxious kinda loud...Definitely a family atmosphere before 9pm....... Went here on a Friday night. It was busy, but we were seated. Several things to note. It's filthy, smells weird and looks in disrepair. I can get past that if the food is good. It's not. It was kind of gross. I have no idea why there were so many people in this place. The green rug on the stairs almost made me barf. Ew. Just ew. Alright I have been going here pretty much my entire life. I will get the bad out of the way right away. I will be straight up that if you get seated upstairs you are going to have bad service about 75% of the time. I will usually turn around and leave if there is no downstairs seating. Alright upstairs is the place that all the un experienced Wait staff are. If you finish a beer expect to wait a while for it to be returned full because usually the waitresses are too busy texting and going on Ipads up near the upstairs bar. Yes we the paying and tipping customers can see you neglecting your tables and goofing off. They also put most of the families with kids upstairs. Sometimes the food quantity is skimped on (for example say we order 2 plates of buffalo tenders that cost 10.95 one plate will have 7 tenders on it and the other will have 4-5 tiny little wimpy tenders on it? WTF Eagle Brook). To my knowledge The Eagle brook does not take reservations, however the other night when our small party was attempting to get seated around 6pm and most of the tables were open we were told they were reserved so maybe that has changed. I will put the staff upstairs will always tell you that they can not split a bill between more than one person (it is false but that is the BS they will tell you) That being said the down stairs is awesome. Blueberry ales are always good, the food for the most part is great. They specials are good, the steak is good, the buffalo tenders are good, the sampler platters are amazing, the burgers are great too. They also have a huge ale selection. However if you are planning on drinking hard liquor they will sometimes only serve you two drinks total (yet one could have 10 beers) The desserts are also amazing, I personally suggest the derby pie. So much so that I have walked through the woods behind the Wrentham State school to get one before closing. The service is usually top notch and awesome. I will say if you are multiple people tell them that you will require separate checks as they take your drink order. It makes life easier for the servers. Eagle brook also has great pizza deals a few nights of the week, buy a Large or Small pizza and get a small pizza free! I would suggest Sunday-Thursday are the best nights to go. Fridays and Saturdays can get busy. If you are on the fence about the Eagle Brook Saloon give it a try just try to get a seat downstairs! read more

So many of my friends have talked about this place. They all rave about it. They meet there as small groups. So I finally had the chance to join them. If the place has a huge parking lot and it is full, you have to stand shoulder to shoulder as people spill beer on you while they wait 30 or more minutes for a table then there becomes mystique around it, It doesn't mean it is good. Yah they have a larger selection than some places of Beer; is it great no! Just a little larger than some. Then the food? Just as I've written in so many other reviews, Sysco CRAP that is warmed up for you and called crazy names with an even more crazy price. Our group got appetizers, pizza, burgers and a few other meals. Almost all of it looks like frozen food entrees found in an ordinary grocery store. There are a bunch of line cooks in the back just heating things up and dumping fries on the side of the plate. Yah they made the place look a little different but it stops there. Everything else about this place is cookie cutter crap and bad at that. It is so loud and crowded, but it is like DIsney or the Wizard of OZ, it is nothing but an illusion and a marketing ploy to those that feel they need to be one of the "in" crowd. read more

We went there for the first time yesterday with family. They had been before and said the food was really good. We were seated right away and that was probably the only "good" thing about our experience. The waitress had no clue about the menu or offerings. She came back around five times to tell us items on our order weren't available and made us change the order. Never brought us silverware, we actually went to another table and grabbed some after asking a number of times. When our orders actually came out (1 hour later... and we all ordered sandwiches), the orders were not correct. We asked for drink refills three times, only received the actual refills once. The food okay, at best. I had a greek wrap, the chicken tasted slightly burnt and wrap had no dressing. Definitely will not be returning. They do have a cute gift shop :) read more

I went for lunch with my friend, after a hellacious morning. I had two delicious beers, one Opa Opa something, and the Blueberry and both were fantastic. And the fish and chips were hot, fresh, and crisp! The building itself is adorable! Inside, everything is wooden, and it gives an old timey feel. The food was so good, and the service was prompt. My girlfriend and I went to the Eagle Brook Saloon on a Saturday afternoon, September 16, 2017, around 3pm. The place was not busy. There were maybe 20 customers in the establishment. We ordered food and drinks. We waited for about 30 minutes for the food. When it was placed in front of us, all we could smell was this horrible burned smell. Both the chicken and the vegetables smelled and looked burned. I ate my sandwich anyway (I was starving). She sent her food back. 20 minutes later, her food came back out. They cooked new chicken, but it still smelled burned. They reused the vegetables and rice. The veggies still smelled and looked burned, only now they were overcooked. The rice was also overcooked. They took her meal off the bill, but with an attitude. It was a terrible dining experience. read more

After reading the reviews we where so dis pointed. Cute place but the food really hurt me. After getting home and 6 hours later my intestines where not doing good. The chili was reheated multiple times and the quality of the food was really low! The service was not that good at all. Our go to pregame meal. Have never had a bad meal and have been going for years. Actually I would say the food is above average- super variety. The owners clearly care.
