I tried reaching out for a resolution but never heard from them. I ordered (online) a carpet clean and added two vents to meet their posted $119 minimum. When they came out I was informed they don't clean vents and that the minimum is $149. They did honor the $119 after we spoke on the phone, but no vents were cleaned. The carpet is still dirty. Even through my baseboards were removed, they didn't have any tool to clean the coffee stain close to the wall. The coffee stains in the middle of the room were not removed either. I ended up hiring another company to clean the carpet. They were able to remove the stains. I try to only hire local companies so I do not leave this review easily.

We had Rick from solid rock handyman services install a deck railing for us in April 2023. He was…read morerecommended by our real estate agent that we have good success with their previous recommendations over the years. Rick came out and showed us photos of his work on his phone. The photos looked good and he was pleasant to talk with. We agreed to hire him to build our railing thinking we were going to receive a quality and professional job. Unfortunately that is not what we got (see photos). The railing has multiple issues from split wood to different size pieces, two different colored screws and crooked gates. I asked Rick to come out and address the issues and he did come out to take a look. He said he would raise the bottom rail to fix the issue on part of the slats but then I would have a bottom rail that is higher in some areas and not level at all, so fix one issue by causing another issue is his idea of quality work. He would fix the gate as he noted he used warped wood to build them. He came back a few weeks later on memorial day which he picked so I canceled my plans so we could finally put this project to bed.. When he showed up he didn't have all the supplies he needed and didn't even have the correct supplies at that. I told him to come back with the proper materials. He clearly has no attention to detail and is not interested in fixing the project the right way, instead trying to take any short cut possible. Later that day after he left I ended up sending an email asking for him to fix the project by starting over which he even brought up when i was showing him all the issues instead of trying to put a bandaid on everything. Or provide us a refund and we will hire someone else. Rick's response was he was not going to fix anything now. He is not returning my phone call now either. Sadly we trusted Rick and we got burned. It was a very expensive lesson learned and took us a long time to save up the money and unfortunately will cost us even more money to fix the project. With spending almost $10k on railing we thought we were getting a quality product which is disappointing that we are now out the money and will have to spend more money to fix a railing that we should not have to do. I can not recommend Rick with Solid Rock Handyman Services. The lack of attention to detail from installing split wood, to different colored screws, and warped gates that don't latch properly i would never have him do work on property again sense he does not stand behind his work. I encourage you to look for a different handyman if you are in the need for one. Rick with Solid Rock Handyman is not someone I would ever use based on our personal experience.

It was so nice of him to apologize to me, even though I felt bad I couldn't have him do the job and pay him. I will gladly think of hiring again if I need a handyman.

I asked for my favorite local bridge (St Johns), Forest park and fish. Randy was my first contact. He listened to my request and came up with a design I love. Then Jim made the gate and installed it with Steven. From start to finish it took a few weeks only because of me trying to decide on a design. Once I made a decision, then it took a week to make and a day to install. Jim and Steve dug deep down to set the posts. I appreciate the high quality work that went into fabrication, parts used, and the installation of this gate. The next day, Jim ran the needed tests, checked the operation of the system, and explained how to operate the gate including any challenges that might arise. I am receiving many compliments for this gate from my neighbors and passerby's. The operation is super quiet and smooth. I appreciate the talent and knowledge that went into the making of this gate. I received a well made product at a great price! I'm a very happy customer. My high expectations for this gate were met. I received a custom gate for a fraction of the cost of a plain gate other companies quoted me. CHIP and Dale's Iron Works are honest, trustworthy and down-to-earth. You won't go wrong with these guys.

We weren't sure if there was water damage, but I came across WaterBear thanks to fellow Yelpers and saw that they offered free estimates. I left a message on a Sunday; they called back shortly after, I described the situation to a friendly lady, and they sent someone over the next day (which was on a holiday - I only seem to have plumbing emergencies on holidays). Jesse came over as scheduled, did a scan with his equipment, and reassured us that we had nothing to worry about - no water damage had occurred. There has been NO CARPET CLEANING service provided. On or about 12/2/25 I spoke with Tabatha at WaterBear, explaining that I had some wine stains on a small area of carpet. I asked if that was something her company could help with. She said she would send someone to take a look. A gentleman, who introduced himself as the owner of the company, came to my home and looked at the stains. He said he thought the carpet should be steam cleaned, but his big truck was out for repair and he would have Tabatha call and set up an appointment with me to get the work done. Tabatha never called. A couple days later I called the company back and asked if there was a problem, explaining my situation. The receptionist apologized and said she'd have someone get back to me. No one has called me or been in touch. And today I get this invoice. I am pretty grossed out at the level of customer service, or lack thereof. Just to be clear, this invoice will not be paid. There was no service provided, no phone call to set something up, and no follow up by your company. I will find someone else to do the work.
