I moved to the area a few months ago and this was the most convenient liquor store since it's literally across the street. I haven't been thrilled about their prices and have become less fond of the owner after each visit, it was a regular occurrence for the owner to speak poorly about other customers shopping in the store. Needless to say after a few visits I would make it a point to go to other stores if I could.
Tonight I went into the store on my way home from work to pickup a few bottles of nice wine for a dinner party my wife and I were hosting, the owner felt it would be a good idea to setup a large display of inexpensive wine directly in the path of the front door. On my way in I held the door open for a few people coming in, once they were in the store I stepped forward and walked directly into the display causing a bottle of wine to fall on the floor and break. As soon as the bottle hit the floor the owner started yelling at me demanding I pay for the bottle of wine, without haste I paid for the bottle but informed the owner that I didn't think it was appropriate for me to pay since the wine was placement of the wine was very poor, I also let him know that this would be the last bottle of wine I ever purchase in his establishment again.
The owner grouchily replied that it was my fault and he didn't need my money. I'm not sure why someone who has no need for money demands that someone who has spent a fairly large amount of money on wine in his establishment in the past pay for a $10 bottle of wine that was broken by mistake but his motives really do not matter anymore because I will never spend another dime in this establishment.
Please stay away from this Liquor store and give your hard earned money to a small business owner that actually knows what customer service is. Great Vine is a bit on the pricey end but they are very helpful, every time I've been there they have always asked if I need assistance out. read more
