I've never had such a terrible experience with a company and the worst manager I've ever talked to.
My family member booked this moving company. They gave very little information during the booking process but she asked how much. They said $125/hour. She also asked if clothing items in bags were okay, the manager said it was. There was no emails sent with any information at all, no call to confirm. In fact, she had to call the day before just so we had peace of mind that movers were actually coming. So with the information we had, we prepared for a few hours at $125/hour.
The movers arrived, with the worst attitudes, I need to add. The most unhelpful, awfully rude, extremely unprofessional people. I just can't believe they actually have jobs in the service industry and not alone in a basement somewhere.
They come in and suddenly all the details have changed! As well as, new information that we were completely blind sided by!Right off, they want $1300 to start and then they would 'refund' what they didn't use. What? Does this company think people just have $1300 without any notice to prepare? The average person usually doesn't, especially since this was a small, one bedroom apartment job, by the way. Then they say the bags aren't okay and they want $90/box things that aren't packed. And, the hourly rate changed to $175/hour to add a 3rd mover, which I can get that, but again, this should have been all laid out in preparation.
My family member called the manager to figure out why everything is different and why nothing was told in advance. He was absolutely horrid, would not let her get one word in. Seriously, managers are supposed to listen, then respond, and not just managers, this is how actual capable and respectful adults communicate. She became so frustrated that he would not even listen for one second, she just had to cancel everything. Who could blame her? Why would we give our business to a company that literally can't be professional in the least and are so miserable rude and awful? The fact we could just cancel without a deposit lost or anything shows how unprofessional this company is.
I take time to call him back. Again, would not even let me get a full question out. I had to spend time getting him to just stop talking for one second in the most frustrating conversation ever. I said, like adults I need you to listen and take turn speaking so we may communicate. He says he doesn't have to let us know about being charged $1300, we all know that's ridiculous. He also said things change on site based on apartment level and distance, etc etc. I said, A competent company would have asked all these questions when they were making the booking and that changes on site are unacceptable unless notified in advance by circumstance. He didn't actually listen to anything, just continued to be defensive and argue. The worst, most infuriating manager, and adult man, I've ever tried to talk to and am so grateful we didn't actually work with this company.
I told him it was a blessing in the end because we were able to find a different company on short notice that ended up being more affordable, profession, and kind. And wouldn't you know, they called and asked all the proper questions and gave all the information necessary to be fully prepared. No 4 figure amount necessary to be charged in advance, either.
Highly do not recommend ever. read more
