Never trust a used car salesman:
They will be your "friend" and of course make endless promises. They will tell you the car will be washed and detailed if you buy it, and they will tell you this both times you look at the car. Then they will tell you that "everything works" on the car, very flippantly as if it is an insult they would have a car that wasn't perfect. When you point out that a mandatory service on the car is due soon, they tell you "you can just take it to any mechanic for that, it's no big deal, not a problem." They obviously do not know that much about luxury cars as they like to make you think. They will tell you that they have driven the car themselves and it is one of the best they've ever seen. If you decide to buy the car, you will come to an agreement, that will later not be kept. Once they have your money, the story changes. When you're done handing your money over and you notice your car has not been washed or detailed like you were promised twice a few days earlier, the reply is "Oh no, it's been detailed!" LIE. When you finally notice your third brake light is cracked and falling apart on the new luxury vehicle you just bought, they tell you "oh I can find that on eBay for $75 and replace it when you come back for your plates, no problem, I'm your friend." When they are putting on your temp plates and the screw will not come out from the trunk, they will tell you "oh, when your permanent plates come in and I call you to come back, we'll drill that out and fix it for you, no problem friend." As you are driving away they tell you, okay, I'll call you when your plates come in and when you come back we'll fix all of that. Sure. When you take your new luxury vehicle to the dealership for the required maintenance, you are told that the glove box is broken, which is why it does not open, and will cost $1000.00 to replace the entire panel, because Mercedes does not just sell the lock to it. But wait, everything works just fine!? You also realize that the car is not the original color, that someone painted it a different color, and in doing so, they painted OVER the parking sensors, which is why it beeps so much in reverse and the front sensors have simply been cut. You remember that when you made a comment to your used car salesman about it being a unique color, he just smiled and said nothing. A month later, you call your trusty used car dealer to find out about your plates. He says no, you must be mistaken, YOU were supposed to do that, didn't you know that? Oh we didn't promise that, that was a mistake. Why would we do that? I know we agreed not to charge the "processing fee" and still do everything that it includes, but that was just for other paperwork. Since we are friends, drive back out here and well take care of it for you no problem friend. When you take an hour just to drive back out, they charge you for everything they said they weren't going to charge you for. But remember, you're friends. I was also told, after I had specifically asked about the inspections, that all inspections were current. LIE. I had to go get an emissions test so they could register my car. After almost two months I finally received my hard plates, and have had to fix everything else that I was told worked perfectly myself, and at great expense.
With friends like E-Trade Auto Sales, who needs enemies? It is very lucky for me that E-Trade bought a car at auction that was in good condition, although they simply got lucky as well. You might not be as lucky. Read the other reviews.
Be very careful what car you look at and what deal you make with this used car seller. They will very likely not hold up their end of the bargain. Check their consumer complaints on Better Business Bureau before dealing with them!! I'll be talking to BBB next! read more
