WARNING don't go!!!!…read more Went here for the first time to look at a car and ask a few questions. Right from the start, the service was disappointing. The salesperson barely engaged with us--answered questions in a nonchalant way and kept walking off mid-conversation. We came back the next day ready to buy. We test drove the car, liked it, and were prepared to pay cash. We sat waiting to speak with the sales manager, who walked by us three separate times, each time asking what car we were interested in and saying "I'll be right with you." He never came back. Instead, he stood nearby having casual conversations while we waited--completely disrespectful of our time, even after we explained we needed to leave early because my husband gets up at 3 a.m. When we finally tried to move things forward, we made a very reasonable offer. The car was listed at $8,900. We offered $9,000 out the door and even said we'd handle taxes, tags, and title ourselves. They came back at $9,900--$1,000 over the listed price--claiming it was for "document fees." When I asked what that meant, I got a vague answer about "things behind the scenes." No transparency at all. Their fees are outrageous and completely unjustified. They then said they could "take $100 off," bringing it to $9,800--still a terrible deal. The sales manager never once came over to speak with us directly--not that day, and not even the next day. He couldn't even give us the courtesy of a follow-up conversation. We made our final offer of $9,100 out the door and again said we'd handle everything ourselves. The next day, they casually responded that the price wasn't coming down and asked if we wanted to come get the keys. Absolutely not. We ended up buying the same car--same year, different color--for $6,700 elsewhere, with one owner (unlike the one they claimed was one-owner but wasn't). This place is unprofessional, overpriced, and lacks basic customer respect. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere that actually values your time and business.

The windshield leaked within 36 hours of purchase, the emissions was not done when I was told it was, and now the car needs a transmission. All of this within a month of purchase. The limited warranty that they offer was not provided to me even though I signed the contract. They didn't send the paperwork in and my claim has been denied. They are too cheap to honor their commitment to me. I hope they all sleep well at night, ripping hard working people off! btw - the filtered reviews are not showing up in this rating. Review them!

Update 3/31/11 - So they sold me a truck and the heat didn't work in the back. Come to find out that there was a hole punctured in the line. I took the car back for them to repair and they said it was $600 to repair and asked me to pay half. No big deal. Then, the lens was cracked in the back, no big deal - they replaced. The side mirror was broke, they replaced with another broken mirror - still no big deal. BUT the big deal was that the idler arm needed to be replaced and the left front tire was gashed on the inside and it failed MD inspection --- Now I'm mad. So another $600 I have to put in this vehicle and haven't made my first car note yet. A lot of this is typical when buying a used vehicle. I suggest if you buy a car from this place, just make sure you have someone with you that knows about cars because they don't. They just know how to clean them and make them look pretty from the outside.

Once the deal is done, everything changes and the service becomes awful. No interest, no respect, and very poor customer service. Terrible experience. Worst dealer I've ever dealt with. Customer service is absolutely awful. They say one thing and do another. There is zero transparency, no communication between their own staff, and they are extremely dishonest during the negotiation process. We came to get our stuff AND THEY STOLE A COACH BAG I had in the back seat! Can you believe that???? We were misled and deceived with the contract. When we asked for a copy of the contract (which is our right), instead of helping us, they blocked us from their phones and completely cut off communication. Nothing ever gets resolved -- nobody takes responsibility. When we told them we would go to the DMV to clarify the situation, their response was unprofessional and aggressive: "Do whatever you want", and they stated they would not return the vehicle. On top of that, they told us we had financing through an external lender, only for us to later find out that they secretly put us into in-house financing without our consent or knowledge. This is extremely unethical. DO NOT accept their in-house financing -- it is the worst mistake you can make. This dealership operates with deception, poor ethics, and complete disregard for customers. Save yourself the stress, the time, and the money. Stay far away from this place.

Very friendly, and 100% willing to work with you. Looked at about five different Sequoias at five different dealerships and nobody wanted to work with us. We came to this location and I must say it impressed me. They fixed the items on the vehicle and then some and dropped the price twice for me. Great and easy to work with my thanks to Leo (manager) of the dealership was great! There were a few small things here and there. But Leo made sure it was corrected and was in good communication with me regarding updates and other questions I had. Great manager. But if you're looking for a used car always do your homework and understand what you need to look at/for. And make an educated decision you could walk away with a diamond or could end up with a lump of coal. Good luck out there especially with new car prices going up $$$.

I took him to court in Stafford court and won my judgement against him. However Mr. Derrick L King is not an ethical business man as he appealed the judgement and lied to the courts and stated he was not the owner of the company. I have never experienced anything like this before. I am a single parent and was trying to purchase a car for my 17 yr old daughter at the time. Furthermore Mr. King ran my credit without m permission and authorization. Buyers be aware that Derrick L King is shady and does not have your best interest at heart. It started out as an incredibly positive experience. Derrick, the owner, worked with me to find a…read moreperfect first car for my son. I wanted something safe. Something reliable. Something inexpensive. He had a 2001 Mercedes CLK 430 in stock, and it seemed like the perfect vehicle. It had a slight shimmy when I took it for a drive, but he said he would have it looked at when he did the inspection. He wouldn't give me any more than $5000 for my 2010 Nissan Versa, because it did have some slight cosmetic damage, but overall the Mercedes appeared to be a really good deal for my son at $8000. The vehicle passed inspection, and Derrick told me he even had a mechanic put in a new wheel hub, because one of the lug nuts was stripped, and he did not want my son to have a blowout and not be able to change his own tire. He showed me a receipt that said he paid $550 for it. He struck me as thorough and honorable, as well as knowledgeable. That was November 24. In December, my son did, in fact, have a blowout, and it turned out that the lug nut was, in fact, stripped. Nothing was replaced. I wound up paying nearly $900 to replace the bent rim and tire that resulted from that incident. I contacted Derrick and told him that the person who claimed to have replaced the hub on that wheel may not have been completely honest. He said he would look into it. It is now early February. I took the car in for a scheduled maintenance and had the mechanics at Mercedes run a diagnostic on the car. Imagine my shock when they told me that the front brake rotors were worn 2mm below standard, which could not have happened in the 2 1/2 months we owned the vehicle! There are significant oil leaks in the rear main seal. The front engine and transmission mounts are worn enough to be dangerous. The rear spring link bushings are worn and have caused significant damage to the rear tires, so the other tire in the rear has to now be replaced. Oh, and the lug nuts on that tire? Several of them are stripped as well. The Mercedes mechanic told me he honestly had no idea how this car passed inspection! The grand total for this mess? $6000! It certainly appears that Absolute Auto Sales simply had someone stick a state inspection sticker on the car without actually... you know... inspecting the car! It certainly appears that if Derrick didn't know about all the problems, he didn't want to know and simply wanted to sell the car, without consideration for my son's safety. And after several emails and texts to his phone asking him to call me, asking him for information about the outfit that performed the inspection, I have been ignored. I did not ask for any kind of refund. I simply asked him to call me to discuss the problems and to give me the name of the person who did the inspection on this car - a car, which I bought for $8000, but which will cost me more than $14000 thanks to this apparent fraud. I realize I bought a used vehicle. I realize there is no warranty on it. And I certainly do not expect a refund. But the damage to this vehicle should have been obvious to anyone performing the inspection. The fact that he now refuses to get in touch with me and to give me the name of the person who did the inspection is telling.
