If I can give negative reviews, I would... Will never come back again. They do not deserve a single dollar from me. I'm pretty sure the owner wouldn't give a s**t about the bad reviews and what ppl say about this place. I know a lot of ppl still go cuz this is the only major arcade in Richmond; however, I still want to write and let ppl know. It's really up to you guys if you do go or not... I guess that's why I believe the owner doesn't give a crap and still give horrible service and still earns a s**t load from us... I forget how bad the service is until today and until I started doing reviews on places I go. I never really cared what the service was like in Espot, but this time it triggered me too much. Friends and I wanted to play darts, so we came here for it. I can't believe how crappy the service is and how cocky that guy (older guy (~40-50years old??) with glasses) was when we were there. He may or may not be the owner, but I see him often. He acts like he is the owner that's for sure. I read other reviews, and it doesn't seem like he is the only one that gives crappy service. My friend wanted to get change for $20, but he said he doesn't have any change for it. (We find it strange how an arcade business doesn't have $20 change at all...I went here before as well and it was the EXACT same guy, and he couldn't even give me $10 change...) He explained that sometimes they would give change at night but not around 3pm or so... So my friend had to go and get change. She ended getting a drink from dazzling place across the street cuz seriously.. the food and the drinks inside the Espot is quite expensive... And who told them to not give us change.. (I'm pretty sure it's a way for them to make more money by forcing us to buy something to get change... There are cheaper options to get change soooo why not.. We don't want to get $20 worth of loonies as well...) While she was getting change, I proceeded to play one round of darts with my other friend. We borrowed the darts and started playing.. Yes, to be honest, my friends and I are amateurs in darts... no one told us that we have to be a pro in order to play the dart machine... I thought it was open for ANYONE... The darts they provided aren't the fancy sharp stainless steel ones.. It's those cheap, plastic ones.. It's really easy to break off... And for a newbie, I can't aim... and i don't throw extremely hard... I just throw and it hits the hard part of the machine; therefore, one of the plastic end broke off... I asked my friend to replace a new one since she wanted to borrow more darts. We had 3 darts to share among 3 ppl. The "owner" lectured her for it... He said "These are for paying customers only. Do you guys know how to play darts? I can teach you if you don't know. These darts are valuable. You hold it at the end." She came back telling me about this.. I just had enough of their cockiness. Just because this place is the only arcade in Richmond... that doesn't give him/them the chance to lecture ppl or give ppl attitudes. There are other places for darts/billiards anyway (such as Q1.. we ended up there afterwards) I wouldn't spend another dollar in this place. I used to come here for pool and other arcades but NO MORE... As I was returning the darts few minutes after she got replacement, he gave a "what?? Already??" look.. I didn't want to say anything but just wanted to return... He then saw my friend with a drink from other place and said "Oh by the way, we aren't allowed outside drinks/food" with an attitude..... TOTAL waste of money and time. Brought my 12 and 18-year-old sons. In the end, both were like, "Really?" Don't get me wrong, looks and feels like Disneyland when you first walk in, full of hope and promise...then you realize there are only a few games (that you don't recognize, in multiples), discover that the grand total of two low-quality air hockey machines swallow pucks (never to return), multiple machines don't give out tickets, the one pinball machine in the whole building is out of order, the coin dispenser eats loonies, over a dozen machines in the corner are broken or decommissioned, and the guys behind the counter act like it's a pain the ass to come out and lend a hand. It's basically just a big impersonal warehouse with a handful of decent machines, plus a whooooole lot of crappy ones. (P.S. Best of luck if you only speak English. See photo.) I try to imagine the business meeting that decided on how this place should be set up. Do they have any idea what people look for in an arcade? Who is it for, what's the demographic? If it's gullible pre-teens with pockets full of cash, then excellent move, gentlemen. But I'm still waiting for an arcade in Richmond that has great games that people of all ages like to play, and that is well-managed, preferably with a friendly face. This arcade had renovated itself from the last time I've been in there. I miss having the score boards near the pool table. the comfy benches don't really match the place. Didn't really understand why they would have a kids area when majority of their customers are teens to early adults. I missed the fact that they took out the sticker picture machines and replaced them with kiddy games. Staff are pretty much the same. They provided a better food banner but not sure how they taste. read more

6/15/2012 Our yearly pilgrimages up to Vancouver always include a trip to E Spot. We've played the arcade, we've played pool, and this time we played mahjong. The place just has everything a group of nerds could want, and as a result we're always coming back. To be honest I have no idea how much anything costs here, as someone else has always picked up the tag (this time it was the hands down mahjong loser), but it's always packed in the evenings, so it musn't be too bad! Warehouse arcade that has a good selection of Bemani (Music Video Games). + Several IIDX & DrumMania machines as well as Taiko, DDR. ~ MACHINES ARE VERY LOUD. This can be a plus/con depending on your preference. ~ In Richmond, so if you're not Asian, you're going to stand out. - It was dark in the warehouse. This might keep it cool, but a few lights probably wouldn't have hurt much. $5 lasted my boyfriend and I an hour in the arcade area. DDR is $1 for 8 songs. A literal steal. Air hockey and taiko drums are an also must. Pool is chill and a great way to wrap up the night, even if the K-Pop gets annoying after a while. read more

Worst customer service experience I have ever witnessed and ever been a part of. The man and woman behind the counter went off about us not having 6 darts. We received only 4 darts and didn't think much of it. Because of 2 cheap darts, they threatened not to give back our ID. Wow. Great games but crappy attitude, the people who work behind the counters are arrogant, they just sit on there phones and update Facebook when you're trying to buy a bottle of water. they speak so quietly but crank the k-Pop so you can't hear a word they say. Then come at you with a pissed off f*** you attitude. Never had to deal with such rude staff anywhere else. Watch out for the chubby girl with short hair and the lanyard, she usually wears a classic puffy vest and some thick framed glasses. She's a b***h. If it wasn't the only arcade other than Metrotown I wouldn't go. Oh and be careful of all the Asian kids trying to look hard on their daddy's super car in the parking lot, they're real tuffies. The only experience I have with this place is the snooker tables. They look like Riley tables but the cloths are worn & the table accessories are in rough shape. The lighting fixtures are older & seem to cast more ball shadows. The table & lights are rumored to be from the former Top Ten Billiards locations. Top Ten has been gone for a number of yrs. The snooker balls seem like the cheaper polyester type not Tournament Champion or Super Crystallite. BEST OF RICHMOND! THIS PLACE HAS IT ALL! and the computers and equipment (Chairs etc..) are better then those at DNA and Netaholics, and not only that, the OS and GAMES ARE IN ENGLISH! Something both Netaholics and DNA don't provide. I visited both of the other locations that same day before arriving at E-Spot and had terrible experiences at both. When I finally arrived at E-Spot I was able to enjoy some gaming on the computers in comfort with friends and then hit up the Arcade for some awesome games like Mario Kart Arcade GP! The service here may not be the best (Though I had no issues), but the equipment is, and it's a much nicer place. Don't bother with the other places, especially if you don't read Chinese and plan on using the computers...EVERYTHING is in CHINESE! I also didn't have to use my own steam account to play games at E-Spot, something I was worried about doing at a public place. This entertainment hotspot is huuuUUUUuge...located right in the centre of bustling Richmond on the East wing of the Radisson Hotel complex, it features a variety of games, darts, as well as billiards. This place is good for arcade gaming but I if you are looking for a pc place to do gaming, it is best to find another. The specs were fine but the gear was that of an office computer. FPS is good but not great and the monitor is 75 hz. There are no headsets nor microphones. The chairs were also bad and there was little effort on thought for mice and mousepads were scarce. read more

A few specific, separate incidents of ridiculous attitude from the owners are described below. What I am leaving out in the stories below are descriptions of the things they do consistently since they never fail at these: constant poor attitude, unapproachable demeanor, completing their service with grumpy faces and attitude, and speaking as few words to anyone as possible (and when they do speak, you can never believe the things they say because they are extremely condescending). (1) A big group of friends and I waited almost an hour to update THEIR steam game (specifically L4D2). We could not play b/c some computers were not updated and it was coming off on our time that we are paying for. They would not stop charging us nor refund the charge b/c they are saying it is "pre-paid." This doesn't make any sense at all since both steam and L4D2 are a one time up front charge, and they own their own business. And anyway, isn't it their job to maintain their products/services? (2) Another group of friends and I came here specifically for the All you can play Happy Hour special rate. When we noticed our time/price meter start to charge us over the $6, we inquired about it and the lady said we needed to tell her in the beginning before we started playing that we want the Happy Hour deal, and that it was impossible for her to switch our status to the happy hour deal now. Aside from the same reasons as described in #1 as to why this is bullcrap, what the lady said next is just inexplicable and unbelievable: Customer: "Can you show me a sign or where it is written regarding your procedures so that we know we need to tell you in the beginning that we are here for the All You Can Play deal?" I would give them no stars if I could! Rude, unprofessional and unhelpful employees. The place is dirty, old and not welcoming. Had a groupon, first time visiting but will never return again. Played Skootball and the balls were old, flat and falling apart. The guy didn't even take a minute to explain the rules of the game when we asked. We paid $29 (regular price $60) for an hour of play. Really shitty customer service, there was this guy working at the counter. He was really rude telling us he couldnt tell us the pool prices, and was cocky af. Right after we had gotten the equipment from him we decided not to play anymore because the service was shit and didnt want to spend a single cent on him, after we had given him the equipment he yelled and told us "dont give attitude" lik wtf we didnt even say anything.
