I get massages regularly (about every other month) so I have a good sense of what to expect. The pressure was great and, overall, she was skilled. However, the reason I'm deducting a star is consistency. Certain areas received much more attention than others. For example, my left leg was worked on thoroughly, while my right leg felt rushed. This pattern continued on both sides of my body. I would've appreciated equal care and time throughout the entire massage. When I arrived, I thought the receptionists were already aware that I made a prenatal appointment. At 28 weeks, my bump is relatively small but it's there so I thought it was obvious lol. After I checked in, a massage therapist took me to a room and asked me the standard questions. I noticed that there wasn't a body pillow on the side of the table so I mentioned I was there for a prenatal massage. She had no idea and told me she wasn't licensed to work on pregnant clients so we went back to the front desk. I explained that I booked a prenatal massage online, but for some reason it showed as a regular one on their end. The only prenatal therapist they had this morning was already busy and the other person would be available in the evening. To clarify, I wasn't upset with the massage therapist who I met with initially and I actually felt relieved that she was honest about her certification. I was glad I could still get a massage today even though it got rescheduled for a later time. My massage therapist this evening was Joe and he was great! For anyone looking for a prenatal massage, I highly recommend him. He communicated with me throughout the session to make sure that I felt comfortable. My upper back has been bothering me lately and I recently started getting leg cramps. Joe really helped relieve my tension in those areas by applying my preferred amount of pressure. Despite the miscommunication this morning, I had a nice time. Next time I make an appointment here, I plan to book a prenatal massage by phone instead of on the website and I suggest that others do the same to avoid any confusion. I found sumi and saw their new client promo price ($55 for a regular full set) and decided to try them since it would be a low price risk in case I have a reaction. There was some confusion over the new promo price with the first girl telling me after my first set it would be $95, then my tech telling me that for what I wanted today it would be $95. She was able to explain and clarify the promo so today's set was $65 because the 2 tip hairs was +$10. Great. I knew I wanted a very natural, light feel with adding just a bit of volume as my lash line is light and cannot hold much (also having sensitivity). I learned from experience. My tech showed me the lengths and it was go time. I knew how simple of a style and shape I wanted based on how I wear my strip lashes. The best part of my experience is that she only took about 35 minutes to apply my extensions, that's what I'm talking about! I know my set is not as dramatic or voluminous but it came out really great and so far they feel comfortable. I really hope they last and don't give me problems the next days ahead. Regular (signature sumi) full set: 2 tips, natural C curve, 9-11 mm, cute style I hope they do well so I can come back for a fill in the next few weeks.
