Sun City Farmers Market - Raspberry Pistachio Danish: yummy!

I am adding on info about Noble Bread this time from my Oct. 2025 visit:…read moreI'm so glad they come out to Sun City's Farmers Market which is such a pleasant outdoor venue which is where I purchased their baked goods, and with a charming salesperson who could answer all my questions too! The country sliced artisanal naturally leavened bread had a real old timey flavor but was very tough, so unfortunately, I won't be able to get that again since my teeth and jaw couldn't manage it. It's too bad since as you can tell by reading the packaging, it's a great product and is easier on digestion--maybe it was as they defined "middle aged" instead of freshly made that day? I might try again, but since I really enjoyed the pastries, I might play it safe and just get them again. 1) Raspberry Pistachio Danish really smelled so raspberry-ish when I opened the package and I liked the chopped pistachios for their taste and texture and the flaky dough was just as a good Danish should be. 2) Kouign Amann Almond pastry was the best though as the dough had a bit of crisp to it rather than the limper Danish--like the layered dough of phyllo. There was enough filling to satisfy each bite with almondy goodness. Both were not overly sweet which ruins most pastries. I wish the products weren't as pricey as they are and that there would be incentives for purchasing more than one item, items when they are packing up for the day, or day-olds. So many of us in Sun City are on fixed incomes and could really use a little help--maybe if we showed a voucher--even though they couldn't accept it--maybe a little discount could be given....

Process was easy…read more When I went to pick it up, people were very friendly and directed me to where I needed to go, it was a mix of workers/shoppers. I think they could obvi see my confusion. Didn't have to wait long, they loaded it in my car, and thank goodness bc the box was heavy when I was bringing it into my house. Good thing my fingernails were short or I might have chipped a nail. If you're weak like I am, you might want to get help bringing it in your house. It was hot though and I only wanted to make 1 trip so I did it. Anyway, important stuff-good variety of stuff. Some stuff went bad a little bit quickly, but I still used a majority of the items. (Beets and red peppers) Standout items imo - Blackberries- sweet and juicy Corn- super fresh and sweet Avocados- delish Def would purchase again

Treat their employees (drivers) like race horses. Just over working them and not appreciating them. New drivers every week because they have such a ridiculously high turnover rate. Completely terrible company. I will reach out to every restaurant person I know and advise them to get quality fresh produce somewhere else. These people should not be in business.

I happen to be a vendor with Get Local, but I absolutely love our markets!!!!…read more We have such a wide variety of items we sell. So many amazing hand made items, from food made, to veggies grown, wood workers, hand sewn items (like myself). Of course the coffee and sourdough vendors! Can't get sourdough like this anywhere else! Follow get local on Facebook or Instagram as they have events during the week, as well as weekends! Great place to shop or just spend a morning walking around!

Huge Farmers Market! If you're interested in locally produced vegetables, fruits, roasted coffee,…read moreeggs, bread, salsa, and more then it's worth a visit! I bought local duck eggs, plenty of produce from multiple local farms, and locally roasted coffee here. We also enjoyed locally made all-natural sorbet, the coconut sorbet was the best! We came on Halloween and I was heating up in my costume so this cooled me down. It's opened on Saturdays from 9am to 2pm in September through May, and 8am to 11am in June to August. I was told all the chicken eggs sell within the first hour, so get there right at opening. It's located in the old Sears parking lot at the Arrowhead Mall. Bring your reusable bags, and have fun meeting all of the local vendors! My favorite were the goats, though they should definitely be given more space to run around. I also loved the Beal Beans couple, they were very friendly and knowledgeable about their roasts, and grinded their beans I bought from them for me since I don't have a grinder at home. I really tried to keep this review short but I couldn't - it was a very enjoyable farmers market!

July 2025…read more McClendon's...My Saturday morning addiction! If you know, you know...and if you don't know McClendon's yet, let me be the one to lovingly shove you in their direction. I've been shopping with them for years, mostly at the Uptown Farmers Market, and it's become a non-negotiable part of my weekend routine. Their fruits and veggies? On another level. I'm just telling you that once you taste their organic produce, it ruins the grocery store for you. I'm not being dramatic...okay maybe a little...but seriously, everything just tastes better. The carrots are sweeter, the citrus is brighter, and don't even get me started on the herbs. Fresh. Fragrant. Plentiful. I buy more than I need every time because I can't help myself. My fridge is so happy to be filled with all the herbs! It makes cooking seem way less like a chore and more like something wonderful that I get to do! The team is always kind, helpful, and genuinely happy to be there. You feel good shopping with people who care about what they do. Bonus? I actually spend less money here than I do at the store. Significantly less and for a much higher quality of food! It's wild. Totally worth the drive! Bottom line: McClendon's is the gold standard of Arizona farming. Your taste buds will thank you. Your wallet probably will too.
