After reading several of the Yelp reviews, I had my hesitation and decided to give Dr. Voros a chance. The office is located next to the Rite Aid in the West Hills shopping plaza. The plaza is currently going through major renovations, so parking is a little bit limited. Made an appointment online. The office is a typical office, though it's a little dark inside and not as clean/organized as other optometrists I've been to in the past. Dr. Voros was very nice and I like her bedside manner. I provided her with my previous prescription for contacts and glasses and she was able to go off of that and fine tune it. This is a 2 person show, so it's critical that you make an appointment to see her to avoid any long wait times. After she finalized the numbers, I was provided prescriptions for both. I do find that her prices for contacts and glasses are much higher than Costco's. But to be fair, I'm sure the materials used for the glasses are of higher quality than Costco's. Since I wear contacts over glasses and didn't value having glasses, going to Costco was a no brainer. I did have to go back to her to fine tune my contacts prescription a couple of times, but all in all, I find that she is very knowledgeable and was able to get my prescriptions to my liking. I have read a few negatives about her assistant Reuben. I also did encounter a not so positive encounter with him. I am not sure, but I think he might be on the spectrum and that could explain his behavior and not being able to connect on a personal/emotional level. read more

Don't understand L.A."s review in December. 31. Sounds to me like the problem is the person who wrote the 1 star review NOT Dr. V or Ruben. Just picked up new reading glasses there and Ruben was able to find a way to have insurance pay for it without a penny out of my pocket. Dr. V works hard to maintain positive relationships with her patients and I am extremely grateful to her and Ruben. She helps me change my contacts every month, understands whatever difficulty I may be having with my glasses and always finds a way to correct the issue. If you live locally, you'd be foolish to go anywhere else. read more

Optometrist is nice. Unfortunately, if you are paying for this with a particular insurance, it's a complete rip off. They have no glasses available except for a few funky colors and shapes. My family and I have been clients of E- Optometry for over 10 years. The optometrist is thorough when it comes to the eye exam the exam done in a timely manner. I wouldn't listen to any of the less than 5 star reviews. This doctor is amazing. Actually beyond amazing. My mom has an issue on her right eye. We were able to get a next day appt. We came in and Dr. Voros took her time with the examination. Upon her findings she recommended seeing a specialist/surgeon. Her diagnosis was spot on. But it didn't end there. She offered to help find the surgeon, then see if he accepts my moms insurance and then to schedule an appointment. And THEN she has literally followed Up everyday just to make Sure everything is ok. I have been under the care of Dr. Voros for over three years now and have been helped by Ruben every time. Never once have I had an issue! I am honestly baffled reading the ridiculous reviews some of these people have left and when you read closely, it comes down to them not being happy that they did not get their way or they did not get special treatment. Maybe take a moment to evaluate your own tone of voice and how you talk to someone before criticizing others. Just read your own reviews! It is very telling. It speaks to how terrible (and difficult) it can be to work with the public and these entitled West Hills peeps (especially). When I tried to buy online contacts, I was told my prescription expired. I called the doctors office to see what they could do as I am almost out of contacts and under self quarantine. Ruben the front desk person, told me I had to come in to the office for an appointment and no exceptions could be made. I explained my situation. He told me that since my prescription expired prior to COVID that I should have come in before all this happened. I asked him to speak with the doctor to see if there was any way to make an exception. He said he would ask but that other people in the same situation were unable to get their prescriptions without their annual exam. He said he could provide sample contacts to get me through until I could come in for an exam, but then told me I had to come in to the office and pick them up. Which I explained I am unable to do. However, when I go onto the website, it mentions virtual exams available for those under self-quarantine. This was never mentioned as an option for me to be able to get my prescription updated so I can get contacts and see. I have no glasses and without contacts, I am almost blind. I have been coming here for years and have never had such poor treatment and customer service. I would expect more flexibility from the office given these unusual circumstances. The person who answered the phone is very rude (I think his name is Ruben), mumbles and can not speak properly. It is obvious he does not want to help, he kept saying things such as frames, etc. were way more expensive than they really were, and refused to let me speak to someone else in the office who I could actually get answers from. My experience at E-Optometry was top notch! Dr. Tran is an exceptionally great person foremost and an outstanding Optometrist as well! I had an eye injury from my kids and Yelped for a local Optometrist and found Dr. Kelly Tran had great reviews. I called and they squeezed me in for a same day appointment. I showed up, filled out the necessary paperwork and in 10 minutes I was with Dr. Tran. If you have fears about getting your eyes checked, then I highly recommend you see Dr. Tran. She is extremely personable, friendly, positive and professional. I can't say enough good things about her. I had a typical eye exam, retina exam, eye pressure exam and she comforted me all the way through! Her staff are great too. Her assistant helped me pick out frames, did it with a smile and helped find what suited my style and budget. I called my wife and right away told her we have a new Optometrist going forward. This is my second time visiting Dr. Tran and I'm just as impressed as I was with my first (April 2010) The office is tucked into a small mini mall with plenty of parking. The staff is kind and always makes casual conversation, making the check in process go by quickly. They have a fairly wide selection of frames, with a smattering of pricey designer options. They also offer contact fitting services and seem to do very well with childrens services judging from the happy parents I observed picking up frames. Dr. Tran is very meticulous in her exam, and asks plenty of questions that will help her provide the best eye care. I spent a little more for the retinal photography (great for someone who struggles to keep their eyes open during exams) which was actually pretty cool to not have to get dilated. Dr. Voros is fine, although I feel she relies on the automatic assessment equipment too much. The issue with this office is Ruben who works the front desk. He is rude beyond belief and has zero customer service skills. I've had issues with him in the past but today I called to order more contacts. I was told my Rx was expired and that I had to come in. I explained I had just put in my last set and to come in before they wore out would be very difficult with my schedule. I was told there was no other option (even though in the past I had been given a renewal as long as I made an appointment). I told Ruben this and was rudely told that was the only way to get the refill. I then asked to speak with Dr. Voros. I was again told that was the only way. I again asked to speak to Dr. Voros. After waiting on hold over 5 minutes Ruben came back and said He asked her and she said what he already told me. Again I said I wanted to speak to her and he said no she's with a patient and wouldn't come to the phone. I then asked him to have her call me and he said maybe and then hung up. No call back. I've already found a new Dr. His tone was rude and curt during this entire exchange. Look elsewhere for your optometry needs. read more

I cant say I ever ENJOY having my eyes examined and my pupils dialated but E Optometry made it as good as it could be! The female doctor I had was really nice and genuinely interested in who I was. She asked about my school, work and my weekend. It took me a while to pick out my frames because I'm super picky, but they were really helpful and gave me a great price on Gucci frames that I love! The staff is very nice and professional however the prices are fairly outrageous. I recently bought contact lenses through them and was originally quoted $75 per box (4 boxes total). I asked them for a discount and they lowered it to 70 per box. Unfortunately I agreed to the price and only found out later online that the same contacts were going for 44 a box. I understand that it is a small office versus a big corporation however a 33% markup is fairly unacceptable. When I confronted them with the online price they offered me $40 store credit (effectively bringing the price down to $60 a box). I would've been OK with 60 a box initially however I am uninterested in store credit. As it is, I am unlikely to return to them in the future as the process has been more of a hassle than I would've liked. It's a shame because the staff is nice. read more

Originally I came here with a friend who came in to get herself an eye exam and glasses. She had such a good experience that I decided to get my annual eye exam here. The staff is incredibly friendly and informed me about my insurance coverage and options for my glasses and contacts. Getting an eye exam can be an uncomfortable experience with the optometrist in such close proximity to your face at times but this was not the case with Dr Kelly Tran. She made me feel very comfortable and at ease during the whole process. At no point was anyone pushy or try to make me purchase anything I did not want. Well i have to say that, i gave this office a chance. Dr. Tran seems to be a good dr. but not sure where the communication fails between her and her staff. They never call back to let you know your order is in. When you call them they seem clueless as to who you are and what your calling about. Still waiting on a call back today! I am incredibly happy to have found this optometry business. Dr. Victoria and Eduardo are a wonderful husband and wife team that provide exceptional service. Dr. Victoria booked my appointment immediately while other doctors were estimating 10-14 day waiting periods. well i went there 3 months ago for my eye exam and just today i got my glasses. the Dr. is aww 4 star but unfortunately it is all about the $$ i did not even get my new pair of glasses in a box case they handed to me and that's it. i asked for a case and it was denied i was told that is not covered by my insurance . I liked the doctor, but the staff was pretty outrageous when trying to sell you glasses in terms of things they mark up. Was gonna ask me for almost 450 for non high end fashion brand, high index lens, more charges for anti reflection, etc. this is when I also have insurance. I took my prescription and went to Costco and got a pair of glasses with high index lens for 117 after insurance. I get the mark up, but 400+? I used to get Armani glasses, high index, etc without any vision insurance for around 285. 400+? read more

I have never experienced this quality of service from an optometrist, and I have had vision aid for 35 years! When I needed bifocals, but still wanted to wear contacts, my previous doctor had me put on reading glasses over the contacts--what trouble! Dr. Tran knew how to make it so that I could use just my bifocal glasses or contacts. I have not needed to return for adjustments like I have had to do with other doctors. Let me just say this: I don't go to optometrist very often. But when I do, I try to do it right; I've been going to E for about six months now. My previous optometrist, although offering decent prices, was a bit of an amateur, to be frank. When I talked to him about trying out corneal reshaping therapy, he said his practice didn't offer it (apparently you need a license or something to do that). So I decided to drop him for a place that could get me some crt lenses. I did my research and with some recommendations from friends in the Topanga canyon area, I decided to give E optometry a try. I'll be honest here: I was a bit reluctant to go down to west hills for some lenses (as I live nearly 40 miles away), but like I said when I do it, I try to do it right. I don't want to be overly lavish in my approbation, but in those six months not only did E optometry get me started on crt ( my vision has gone from 200/20 to 25/20 in the past six months-successful I'd say,however, crt lenses ARE pricey) but they also helped me pick out some sweet prada glasses. Another thing worth mentioning is the 'personalness' of the staff there. Like another user mentioned, the main optometrist asked me about school, family,etc. Although not a dealmaker or a dealbreaker for me, the cordiality at least made my visits to the optometry not feel like checkups--a far cry from the more 'clinical' vibe I was gettin from my previous optometrist. Only con so far (knock on wood) is the long long commute. But that may only be unique to me and where I live. I was here about a couple weeks ago to have an eye checkup and pick up some new prescription glasses. Dr. Tran was more than welcoming and seemed to be very professional. There was barely any wait and the staff helped me browse the glasses on display with ease. The store is very tidy and clean and the staff seemed to be very attentive to the other customers as well. ok this popped up on google when i was looking for a optometrist near me! anyway,the optometrist was very friendly excuse me the receptionist was nice,however, i was confused cause i only came for an eye exam and just look for potential eye glasses quality! so mind you i have good insurance! i believe i was over charged! the optometrist informed me that i would have to come back for the eye drop solution! after, that i was approached by this gentleman i informed him that i was just looking for some thick nerdy quality glasses i found , prada and versace ! furthermore,he kept hounding me ,i was like "yo,i told you i was just looking"! an finally i tried to explain to the receptionist that the exam for $35 is not included! the charged me anyway! so i was like wtf ok so i left due to i reside off woolsey cyn fires!
