I initially contacted Center Cycles over the phone on a bike I was interested in, and right from the start, I was impressed by his commitment to customer satisfaction. One of the standout moments during my visit was when Dave, the owner, went above and beyond to price match the sale another bike store was having, as well as put the bike together within half a day's notice so I could test ride the bike that same day. Finding a trustable bike store is hard to do and after my visit, I have nothing but a 100% trust in this store. Center Cycles only had a 49 cm size of the exact bike I was interested in (which is what I currently ride) but they also had a 52 cm size of the bike but a higher end model. I test rode both and the 52 cm to me felt like a much better fit. Their bike fitter, along with other Center Cycles staffing, assessed my fit and all agreed that the 52 cm was the correct size for me. Instead of pushing me towards a sale, they prioritized my comfort and safety. This level of honesty and integrity is a rare find in any business. Throughout my visit, everyone at Center Cycles displayed an incredible level of friendliness and professionalism. They genuinely cared about my cycling experience and were more concerned about finding the right bike for me than making a quick sale. If you're looking for a bike shop that prioritizes your needs, offers exceptional service, and values honesty above all else, Center Cycles is the place to go.

I have my dad's bike after he passed, it probably sat for 8-9 years in a garage before I started…read moreriding it. I rode it a few times during the summer of last year, but nothing long bc the gears needed work due to slipping, chain was dirty, and tires were really bad and starting to split. I took it in to center cycle for a tune up and new tires. The guy said yeah he wouldn't ride on those tires as they were and told me how much it would be for new tires and tubes, I said that was fine. They called me two days later to tell me it was finished and I had my BF pick it up. He said they didn't say anything about the bike when they gave it to him. I was surprised they only charged for the tune up and no tires when I was expecting replacements. When I looked at it the same tires were still on it, the chain looked the same, after riding it, the gears acted the same way and were still slipping . I thought maybe they didn't think the tires needed replacing. I took it on two 15 mile rides. Started to take it out for a 3rd with a 1700ft elevation gain and big decent. Topping off the back tire with air before I left, I noticed a huge piece of my tire was peeling back. There were other spots on the tires where it was starting to split as well. Thank god I noticed before that ride, cause I can't imagine going 40mph down the hill and having my tire blow. This is unacceptable, they literally did nothing to my bike and charged me 150.00 for a "tune up", and sent the bike back with the same shit tires.

I'm not a big fan of single-brand "concept" stores. They tend to be characterless and uninviting…read more This was no exception. I walked in. The salesperson was finishing up with another customer. I was then promptly ignored as other customers walked in the door and he started talking to them (despite the fact that I was standing right in front of the salesperson). I was actually interested in getting a new floor pump. I was waiting for the sales guy to stop even for just as second to say, "are you doing okay?", but nope. I guess I didn't rate for whatever reason. Perceived fitness level, income....? I checked out the floor pumps. They didn't seem to be particularly well made, although the Dual Charger gets good reviews online. No reaction from the sales person as he dealt with other people and ignored me. I heard guys in the back, service area, talking, talking, talking. Did the one sales guy holler to the back and get someone to come out since he apparently can only deal with one customer at a time? Nope. I started to make my way out but stopped to look at the shoes that had clearance signage, but couldn't actually get at them because they were blocked by multiples bikes still in boxes shoved up against the shoe display. One more chance for anyone in the store to try to sell me something. I didn't even get a "thanks for stopping in". This is a real shame. A Trek was the first "real" bike I bought with my own money as a teenager. I have fond memories of Trek. I'm just getting back into cycling again. I actually have money to spend at this stage of my life. The single most important thing you can do in retail is acknowledge and greet the customer. And as the saying goes, you only have one chance to make a first impression. I bought a pump elsewhere, as well as some jerseys and shorts. (Full disclosure: if I seem a little harsh, I worked in bicycle and outdoor retail for 10 years, as a tech, service manager and store manager. I used to be quite passionate about cycling, hence I have opinions.)

As I shared the serial number over the phone, the staff person was not able to locate it in the computer. The rationale was that if the bike fell between a timeframe of specific years there was no record. The associate appeared helpful and listed the colors of the bikes by year and suggested I go on eBay or another site I don't recall to look up the bike. Now, there's nothing wrong with the over the phone service and the staff seemed like they did their job. Having worked in customer service and sales, I've had associates take down my name and number, do some research, and locate the a skew and model. I've also had associates ask me if there was anything they could do to help further make the customer experience stand out? This could be, come in the shop. I can talk to you about the warranty to see if anything is covered, or feel free and send me pics via email to send to corporate. The funny thing is, recycled cycles pulled up the picture of the bike, eyeballed the year and gave me price of the worth in 5 minutes. Even though they didn't work for Trek they knew their bikes. As a potential Trek customer, I hope that staff are trained to know about the history of the products they are selling and not just the latest models. I hope this can be a learning opportunity at Trek to please try a little harder as this experience needs a tune up.

I worked with Chris at SBC, by email, and he provided me all of the answers I could possible need. And thanks to that info I contacted my local bike shop, gave them the SKU# of the bike I wanted, and had the bike ordered within minutes. By the way, a great tip if I may. I searched for 20 inch bikes for my 6-year old boy for days. I wanted one with gears, hand brakes, and skinny to medium tires, and most of all, I wanted it to be LIGHT WEIGHT. Well I found it, the Torker Interurban 20" boys bike. Weighs in at only 19 pounds, probably the lightest bike out there. And it is sharp looking, made especially for kids. There were 3 other bikes I found, but finally settled with the Torker.
