I can only say this for my Brother in Law. He saw this on Saturday on our last day on the island. Flying out on Sunday. He reached out to Rafu. He met us at 6:30am on Sunday. My Brother in Law had a blast. One on one training and we made it to our flight on time. Rafu had the best selection of boards for my brother. Price was fair for the island, he would have spent twice the price for the experience ... read more

I did the single person group class, and I had the best time! Rafael is an incredible instructor, got me foiling on my knees and a little bit standing, which was incredible for my first time ever. I haven't done many board sports recently so it was impressive that he was able to coach me so well. The e-foils themselves are an absolute blast to use, easy to understand and with a high skill ceiling. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get freaky on the ocean! read more

This was the coolest thing we did in Maui! What an incredible feeling to float above the ocean. We got great instruction and incredible drone footage included! Highly recommend adding this to the activity list while you're there. read more

I had the most amazing morning with E Foil Hawaii! It was my first time trying it and the instructor did a great job with the lesson and training before we got on the water. Once I got up and got going it was hands down one of the most fun experiences of my life. Towards the end of our session we had a giant rainbow appear above us and we were all just riding under it. I definitely recommend E Foil Hawaii if you're on island and want to feel what it's like to fly over the water. I can't wait to go on my next session! read more

We had a wonderful time going out with Rafa and the owner. Efoil is such a fun water sport activity. This is a professional outfit and they take great care of the customers. They have great equipments and took time to explain everything needed for a good time out in the water. This was one of the BEST excursions in Maui. Everyone must try. Give them a call and go out for a fun day. You will not regret it. read more

BEST NEW THING FOR EVERYONE TO DO IN HAWAII!!! When you visit or plan a trip to Hawaii, many people imagine surfing or learning how. However, traditional surfing can be limited to those old enough, but not too old, and those with great balance/coordination/swimming abilities. Not E-foiling!! E-foiling gives anyone of any age the ability to experience surfing, cruising over water, and being outside without the fear of drowning and being bad at it. If you can ride a lime scooter, you will understand easily how to stand up and "surf". If you can follow the three step prompts an instructor and video provides you can ride one even laying day or sitting (which is also very fun). Staying at the Royal Lahaina, it's right in the same area as many hotels with bathrooms right there if needed. If you are traveling with kids, grandparents, not so great swimmers, snowboarders, wake surfers, those who are timid to surf but want to try, this is the thing to do. The instructors are extremely personable and will truly walk you through each step. It's also very intuitive once you're out in the water. I can't recommend enough to anyone traveling to Maui and Lahaina to do this! read more

Kimo & Dan were great instructors! It was an amazing experience for both the beginners and the more experienced e-foilers. Drone footage is so cool! Cannot wait to come back and do it again! Would definitely recommend them to family & friends!!! read more

SO FUN! YOU HAVE TO DO THIS WHILE YOU'RE HERE. I've lived here 4 years and wish I would have done this when I first got here. I'm going again this week. They were incredibly respectful of where to be so no harm would come to the wild life, reef or swimmers. We all got up on our first visit because Rafael is an awesome coach. DON'T PAY ATTENTION to the 1 stars, I can't believe they're even on here. Do these guys write reviews on the wave runners, catamarans, boats, and every other activity on the ocean except swimming?! Surprised to see such negativity. It's gotta be a group of friends hating on everyone doing anything not to their liking. It's too bad research can't be done on reviewers. read more

We rented e-surfboards on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. This was an experience of a lifetime. These guys were professional, well-organized, and made me feel comfortable learning to do something in very short order I had never tried before. I compared prices with other providers on the mainland and the one other renter on Maui...and E-Foil Hawaii was the least expensive. Their Fliteboard brand e-boards are the best you can rent. When the foil lifts you out of the water, it truly feels like you're flying three above the water. Amazing! read more

We didn't book an experience with E-Foil Hawaii, but next time we're in Maui we will! Lucky for us E-Foil was out on the beach when my daughter, wife, and I got swept far from the shore on stand up paddleboards. Rich rode his E-Foil out to us, hooked both our paddleboards onto his ankle, and pulled us to shore. I shutter to think where we would have been without Rich and the other E-Foil guys - we are forever grateful! Mahalo! read more

It's been one year since I was 'banned' from eFoil Hawaii after I wrote about the horrific experience myself and 12 friends had when using this service. The company promised, one month in advance, to meet us at a particular beach at a particular time, they then cancelled at 6AM the day of. And when I shared the true story online, the owner tried to cover it up by banning me from the service. I would sooner drown in shark-infested waters than ever deal with this company again. There are other wonderful e-foil providers on island, I encourage you to use them. read more

I really wanted to like this business. When it was advertised as "women-owned and women-run" here on Yelp (they have a badge for it) l was psyched! However, I was very confused as to why after a couple of calls I had yet to speak to a woman at this company. I've been visiting Maui for years and love to support local Hawaiian-owned businesses regardless but hearing Rhavie (or Rhavi) explain why no women were teaching the sessions because they were not as strong as men was so disappointing. I'm a very strong woman and I have carried heavy equipment. Why was he saying this? Why would you say that to a woman who wants to try efoiling? Is this a man's sport? I'm so confused. He was frankly quite rude on the phone. I wouldn't recommend this company. read more

This is the worst service provider on Maui. I trusted them to provide eFoils for a large party. We pre-paid everything and made the arrangements over a month in advance. At 6am on the day of the event, they called with a bizarre story of how they were 'chased away' from the beach we were supposed to meet at and that they wanted us to go to a different part of the island at a later time. The new location was a complete disaster, we lost a lot of money and our event was ruined, would never recommend this group. read more

Could not possibly have nicer things to say about the folks at E-Foil Hawaii. We worked with Roque, Rafael, and Tyler, and all three of them were excellent. Rafa took great video from his drone, Roque kept us safe in the water, and we had an absolute blast. Also an incredibly fun experience, and I'm fairly confident that just about anyone can get the hang of this! 10/10, and make sure you get food recs from Rafa if you're vacationing on Maui! read more

What an amazing experience for our family of 4 while in Maui! Highly highly highly recommend it! We had never tried hydrofoiling before and LOVED every minute of this experience. We stayed on Kaanapali and met the instructors five minutes up the road at Kahana. It was a beautiful spot to launch from. The instructors (Richard, Alika, Kai, and Tristan) were amazing. Richard took his time to explain how the technology works, and we felt super comfortable/prepared hitting the water as first timers on the boards. Our kids road tandem with Alika and had a blast. I enjoyed the first run so much, I opted to go out a second time before leaving Maui. It looks difficult/intimidating, but I was able to stand and foil the first time out and picked right up where I left off the second time out. You can do it! Don't miss this opportunity while you're visiting Maui (and definitely opt for the drone footage). You're gonna love it :) read more

Called today looking to book for this weekend with a few of our local friends. Rhavie (sorry misspelled it the first time) was such a jerk on the phone about the inquiry for our local (with proper ID) friends, I'd rather do business at the other foil place. I picked this place because this one claimed to be "women owned and operated" yet...All the instructors are men and as Rhavie explained to me on the phone, "women just aren't strong enough", even the "fitness models" they have hired in the past. Hilarious, how mansplained I was from a "women" run business. I don't always look for women owned and operated businesses, but if I see that they are I'd like to support them. But this one is not...as you can see from the Business Owner Reply. Please read it. You can see how lovely he is. read more

Loved my time on the water learning to efoil. Raphael was a great teacher. Stood and foiled even though I'm an old man.

Rafael and this company do it right. Great communication, amazing teacher on the water, and fun to be around. I had never E-foiled before, not a surfer either, and Raf got me up and going immediately. Never felt rushed, just out on the water to have a fun time. Took some great videos and easily air-dropped them to me seamlessly afterward. I appreciate good customer service and easy processes. Highly suggest this company for E-foiling! Try it out, isn't as hard as it looks. read more

Very awesome, pleasant and professional team, thanks for giving me great tips both before launching and in the water. Your coaching allowed this newbie to enjoy herself immensely. It's a lot easier than surfing: I can't stand on a surfboard, but I was able to stand up on the flight board! I also was able to fly the board just on my knees. read more

Great communication, safety first. We had a wild weekend of huge swells, wind, rain and crazy weather for Maui. E-Foil Hawaii contacted us the morning of our tour to let us know it wasn't safe to be out on the ocean that day and offered to reschedule or refund us. We didn't have space in our remaining itinerary so we opted for a refund but we are SO thankful for their attention to safety and prompt communication. For context, this weekend had a wind warning (50+ mph gusts!) a high surf advisory with 7-10 foot waves and a small craft advisory for all islands. The weather had been perfect the week before and we just got unlucky. The ocean looked super scary and we were so relieved to hear that our booking needed to be moved. I have been eFoiling before and highly recommend it. Never tried it on the ocean yet. Definitely worth booking with these folks. They'll keep you safe! read more

Professional. Safe. Fun. Super experience taking e-foiling lessons with Rafael. I'm a kiteboarder moving into kite-foiling. E-foiling is a great way to gain foil board control, taxi--that is, learn to go up and down on the foil without crashing and how to take micro-flights. You will love the sensation of flying and gliding above the ocean. Highly recommend to kite-boarders, wing-foilers, wake-boarders, snowboarders and skate-boarders. And Rafael is the best in his teaching methods, professionalism, focus on safety and respect for the marine life, fishermen, boaters, canoe clubs. Thanks also to Tyler for his on-water assistance. The Lahaina location is scheduled to open soon. read more

This was a great experience. My son and I enjoyed it so much that we easily convinced his uncle and cousin to go with him again two days later. Great staff, good equipment. My nephew with almost no experience at any board sports was foiling within a few minutes. Highly recommended. read more

As a first time rider, Richard and Kimo provided the best experience in learning how to efoil. They walked us through step by step instructions on how to efoil, and how to be safe. And they kept everything fun and lighthearted so that we all had a good time. My first day was incredible, despite the conditions being a bit rocky. I saw the potential and signed up for the next day at Sugar Beach - and it was so worth it. Not only was the ocean smooth and calm, but I was the only person to show up and Kimo and Richard ensured that I was able to take my riding to the next level. While I was standing up on the first day, I was carving and consistently hydrofoiling on the water. Mahalo! read more

1000% recommend taking a lesson with E-foil Hawaii ... Rafael and his team are great to work with in every way. I made a late decision to take a morning lesson and spoke to Raphael and team at E-foil to allow me to book. They were incredibly responsive and helped to answer all of my questions. I chose the Kahekili Beach (Airpot Beach) location on the North West Side of Maui but they offer few others. Great email instructions on where/when to shop up. I opted for additional drone coverage and that was a GREAT decision. On the day of my lesson, I got to the beach: *The boards were already set up and ready *E-Foil Hawaii uses high quality Fliteboard equipment and extra long (up to ~90 min) batteries *I was given a life vest, well fitting helmet, and given instruction on board and controller operation. All equipment top notch!!! *Once instructor (Matt in my case) came in the water while other (Rafael) stayed on land to operate the drone and watch belongings *They handled EVERYTHING (including getting the boards in/out of the water) leaving me to simply to enjoy my time. 1st class service *I felt safe and well looked after, the instruction was great, and I came out with even more love for the ocean and this beautiful island *We were incredibly lucky to see whales while out as it's whale season but a reminder to not get near these creatures with any vessel. Cut your engines and paddle if you want to see them a bit close! *After coming back in, once again all was taken care of for me by E-Foil Hawaii team! *I received the drone footage uploaded to my iPhone (or any device) and it included Baby Whale nursing from its Mom and a Honu turtle over the reef I can't wait to come back and e-foil with the team at E-Foil Hawaii. The most amazing and aloha filled morning!!!!! Mahalo, Rafael, Matt, and team!!! read more

Just got back from doing this in Kahana and I couldn't recommend it more. Absolute ton of fun - just incredible technology and a totally unique experience. One thing to note is that, while it is really challenging, there are also levels so that you can really have a lot of fun whether you're a newbie or not. You can foil lying down, kneeling, sitting, or standing. I managed to foil in all the positions, but seated was actually the most fun for me, I could maintain flight for a long time, carve some great turns, and hit really high speeds. Standing was fun, but way more tiring and challenging, and I didn't feel I was missing anything by spending more time seated (on the contrary, I could push myself and the board more whole seated, so had more fun doing that vs standing for a short period before falling off). There were 3 in my group, all newbies, and we all foiled and had a great time. Don't let lack of experience put you off, and certainly if you appreciate the physics of foiling and how far battery technology has come you'll have a blast read more

What a great experience!!!! From the instructors to the equipment TOP OF THE LINE. Thank you for a great hour of fun. Always felt safe. And our instructor on the water and on the beach covered everything very thoroughly. My husband and I had a blast on E-foil Hawaii fliteboards while vacationing at Royal Lahaina Resort on Maui. We are technically seniors (60's), so don't be intimidated!! They run the rentals of fliteboards and are the instructors and heart of his business. The instructions are super easy and clear, the freedom to explore is plentiful, and the experience is exhilarating!! Wow, E-Foil Hawaii is amazing. My son (15 years old) and I went e-foiling while on vacation in Maui. It was amazing. The ability to surf/foil without going through the hassle of paddling and learning to control the kite. The drone footage that the E-Foil Hawaii team took was amazing and even captured my most epic failure (fluke accident) that resulted in a few broken ribs. However painful - and I'm still recovering as I write this review, it was totally worth it. I would definitely love to go e-foiling again!!! It was awesome. read more
