Not super excited to have them deliver fuel oil when we had more than enough right before Christmas so we had an autopay bill of over $400. Other times it goes so long without them checking that we have run out. But you know, the time of year everyone is EXTRA tight on money here's a surprise $400 expense that could have waited a month. These guys installed our heat pump system, which meant we were required to use them for service or void the warranty. And boy do they know it, because their service prices are highway robbery. We asked for a cleaning, and they wanted $650 for our five air handlers. Because they were extra dirty (true) they wanted an extra $300!!! Felt kinda trapped, because I didn't want to lose the warranty. It took the guy 3.5 hours of labor, no parts, just cleaning, and the most advanced cleaning technique I saw was a hose. I don't think neurosurgeons make that much money. The job they did was fine, but ffs $280/hr? That's 5% of the ENTIRE cost of the system. read more

Completely inept and unable to merely fill propane tanks when requested. 7 phone calls later, and the tanks still aren't full. They fill one each time they come even though they were told to fill all three. The owner even said they screwed up and he doesn't know how to fix it or why it happened. That's one helluva way to run a business. Your best bet is to find someone that actually cares about their customers. read more

Very disappointed in the fact that they were called due to tank running out of oil. They ended up charging $901 dollars they put in a pressure relief valve that retails for around $60 tops and takes 5 minutes to put in charged $205. Also installed pressure tank $241. Charged $150 to show up and $239 to do what was the only thing needed a filter, screen, and nozzle. After the boiler immediately stopped running they called the usual boiler professional who was familiar with system who had to redo the yearly maintenance they had done and stated there was no need for relief valve or pressure tank. The person renting is a single mother with 3 young kids who would sign off on anything they recommended. The company would not budge an inch on their over inflated bill. I would never recommend this company! read more

This place sucks. I had a service scheduled for the afternoon. The service desk called my phone and left a message. I called back within 25 minutes as I was in a meeting. I called back to find that the arrogant service manager's non customer friendly rule is if you don't call back within 10 minutes you lose your spot and have to reschedule. What???? Very arrogant. Very rude. They were on site a couple weeks prior. The creepy old man was freaking my wife out by obsessively asking about a doll house we have. She would change the subject, and he would go right back to the doll house. My wife then went upstairs only to find that this creepy man and his helper were still in my basement!!! Weirdo's!!! When they left, they stayed in the driveway for another 10 minutes. She locked the doors and called me to ask for advice. I told her to wait and see how long they stayed. The worst customer service I have ever seen. They are not for the customer. If you foolishly do choose to pick them as your contractor, watch out for the weirdo and plan on by all means to not miss their call! In a nut shell, I would recommend staying away from company and hire non-weirdo's who will provide a reputable, dependable service. read more

I contacted E&V to do a yearly boiler maintenance. They arrived on time and were very professional. They noticed an issue with my boiler and asked if they could come later back with a part to fix it and do the yearly maintenance then instead; noting that the part might be expensive but it would be extremely quick (~15 min) to change. They did not say anything about extra charges for coming back or diagnosing as they didn't touch anything and were in the house for about 5 minutes. They then responded with a labor and parts quote a few days later with ~2 hours of labor! That's 6 times longer than what the tech told me it would take! The person on the phone provided no explanation of why the labor increased so much from the visit to the quote. I said that for that price I'd rather buy the part and install it myself but requested a new time for the original maintenance appointment. That same day they put a bill in the mail for me to pay for a $100 "diagnostic/trip charge" and noted the work performed as "annual tune-up" I called to ask about the charge wondering why it was never explained to me that I would be charged if they returned and they provided no explanation even after noting the work performed was completely out of thin air and never done (Again, they never touched the boiler). They knew they were in the wrong and offered $20 off of the $100 bill with no further help. They noted that if I didn't pay it would be sent to collections. I'll keep this post updated on the resolution, hopefully E&V will make it right. Please do yourself a favor and explore better HVAC options. I would've rather paid more money to a better company to not have to deal with them. Short version: Multiplied labor charges by 6x with no explanation why and back charged for services not rendered after the fact. read more

I've been using these guys for over 20 years and they're great. Prompt friendly service both when I have an emergency (and that's happened a couple of times) and when I have a less urgent need. They are VERY meticulous when they come for the yearly preventive maintenance. The yearly service is expensive but gives me great peace of mind that I don't have to worry about my boiler or my hot-air system in this 100+ year old house 'cause I know these guys can and will handle any problem that comes up. read more

Well change my coal stove to LP gas looked on line checked reviews and made a couple of calls one of the company's well know not to good. Made my next call to E&V energy what luck salesman showed up listened to my needs. He suggest a course of action worked hard to stay in my budget. He also allowed me to buy in advance to save money on gas Next is the heater installation all had been great so far, but my normal luck is not that lucky. But two men show up suggest a better method of using the heater super job ,very nice professional, so company is 100% so far. Next is the gas tank man to set tanks and get ready he is great too , starting to sound boring right. Call the office staff to make a note on my account on delivery and you are right another star I did tell her how great it was start to finish, but had to write a note people have no trouble writing bad reviews we need good as well thank you to all that helped us m Kinney read more

I used to have fuel oil and propane at my old house. Suburban was there when I bought it and the worst company to deal with. E&V was literately half the price and so good to deal with (cortland office). I have since moved and have natural gas now, but I still call them every few years to clean my furnace and they do a great job with that. Coupons on web site save $ too. read more
