Highly recommend Miller at E & N Chop Shop in Commack. Lately our autistic son was struggling hard with getting hair cuts. We had someone coming to the house and he just wasn't having it anymore. With lots of prepping, showing videos, pictures, talking about what he'd hear and see, I decided to find some recommendations from other moms with autistic children. They didn't disappoint, Miller was very patient and understanding. My son was super excited and when he was done he said "I feel brand new" so proudly. Totally worth the trip from Patchogue! This place is trash. The barbers suck and on top of it really poor service. I made the mistake taking my son here after moving from the city looking for a good barbershop close to home out east. They had some kid cut his hair and it took almost 2 hours. Again this place is trash. Much better barber shops nearby other than this dump. read more

Called this place to make an appoinment for my son's haircut and the guy stephano tells me to just walk in. Hours later I walked in and all the barbers are giving me the whole run around and looking at me as if I have 5 heads. These barbers operate with appoinment and they are very clicky with their customers so if you're new and dont know a barber there dont waste your time. You will sit in this barbershop for hours before getting a haircut. I have been to this place a number of times from their opening pre-Covid and after. I went today after a three week cruise to get a cut. I asked Josh to give me a similar cut to what I had but shorter. From the front it is ok but from the back I am not sure what happened. I do not recall having him show me the back with the mirror and I did not think of it. My wife was shocked and so was I after she showed me pic. Tomorrow is Sunday and I will have a baseball cap on for sure. Monday in my office - will need to wear a yarmulke even though I am not religious- just kidding I won't but I am very upset. I have a party this coming Saturday night and am hopeful I will get some regrowth. What bothers me most is that he had to know he made a mistake. Very sad right now. read more

Consistently great kids cuts, and although perhaps slightly higher priced than other local barbers, E&N Chop Shop is always clean, the staff friendly, and very good with kids. Almost as confusing as the motorcycle that stands in the shop is the reason why they don't have barbers available for walk-ins-especially on a Saturday. There are more barbers than customers who are waiting. One customer came in with two kids and sadly had to wait as other barbers are calling the names of people that booked appointments and yet aren't there. I want to start by saying out of all the years I been getting haircuts this was the WORST haircut I have ever gotten in my life. My usual barber was away on vacation so I figured to try somewhere close by. I come in this place and ask for a fade 0 to 3 and also to clean up my beard. This guy does not know what he's doing. It was nowhere close to 0 and it looked like he shaped up my beard with his eyes closed. My beard was completely uneven and looked like two different styles on each side of my face. My hair was longer in some spots than Others it was absolutely terrible. Not only that but he did not shape up my hairline with a razor like every barber I've ever been to does and also did not even use the razor on my neck or face where he shaped up my beard so after getting my beard "shaved" there was prickly hairs all over my neck. He had the softest hands ever for a barber I felt like he was barely even touching me with the machine. On top of it no hot towel? And 30$ for the worst haircut and beard I've ever gotten? And now I have to tip the guy who gave me a nightmare of a haircut ? I can't speak for all the barbers in this place but the one I went to deff does not know what he's doing. He may get along cutting hair for guys with normal haircuts but if you're looking for a fade, shape up or nice looking beard I would not even think about going here it was a complete waste of 35$. I can't say enough good things about Eli, my son who has been to four different places is terrified! He runs away, cries, throws a fit- I was always humiliated. Eli cuts his hair now and I will never go anywhere else- I drive from Ronkonkoma.. That's saying a lot. The first time my son freaked out, second time a little less- the third time he actually asked for "his friend" and when he wasn't there one day we actually went home and came back the next day.. Does not accept credit cards. That's not a flaw but just a friendly reminder that customers should bring cash. Can't hold it against them, they are a small business who charges an EXTREMELY reasonable $14 for a haircut. They do a pretty solid job and are extremely courteous. They get pretty busy even with 3 barbers which is a pretty good sign. I've had two cuts at this place and they do a very solid job. They are young guys but they cut hair for people of all ages. I'm 29 and I work at a pretty conservative company. They cut my hair in a way that looks very mature without looking old fashioned. read more

My first and last time at this shop. The one owner I encountered overcharged me double for a shape up and refused to charge me the marketed price on the sign. He then proceeded to yell and curse at me in front of other customers and children after I payed the price he demanded.
