Constantly raising their prices, it's ridiculous. at this point I only go here for the convenience since it's close to home with no other benefit. I wish I could find better things to say about this laundromat but if I'm honest, the only reason I…read morecome here is due to the proximity to my apartment. I totally understand that businesses have had to raise prices due to inflation and the economy in general, but the increases here have been rough over the past few years. Dryers were initially 7 minutes for 25 cents when I first started going here, those minutes are now 5 for 25. Washer prices have increased from $3 to $3.75 for the smallest option, with the large one being closer to $10 for just one (albeit, large) load. If the washers and dryers were new and clean it'd be one thing, but they're constantly breaking and out of order. To use the machines, you'll need to pay $1 for a card that you then load money onto. However, the chips on these cards are very fragile. The first card I had stopped working within just a few months, and when I went to exchange it for a new one they charged me for it, saying it was my fault that the card was damaged. Instead of getting upset I genuinely asked the staff what I could do to preserve this new card. He recommended not keeping the card in my wallet, and instead leaving it in a ziploc back, which I've done for the past year. It has recently started malfunctioning here and there, so I'm sure I'll be due for another one soon. TL;DR - Only good if you live close by.

This post makes me really sad to even do but what's right is right:…read more I dropped off a pair of suede Birkenstocks to be cleaned on March 26th on my way to work. The owner's wife charged me $25; that's fine, they charged me that on my last pair. While on the train, the husband calls me to tell me that it's $40 to clean them ... we went back and forth and I agreed because I do all my dry cleaning there; well I used to. I went to pick them on Holy Thursday before work and noticed the material had been damaged. The husband was there and after some negotiating he said to bring the receipt; clearly I had mentioned that the shoes cost me $165. That very day after work I went to purchase another pair and brought him the receipt. Now in good faith, I went in Good Friday morning to see them. I brought him the new pair so he can see the material as well as the black pair that I owe and I was wearing a purple pair. The husband wasn't there, the wife started yelling that we had agreed on 165$ and the receipt was for $180 ... yes there is tax on them but I would take the $165. She then went on to say the deal was with her husband so to come back. This past Tuesday I passed by again after work with a copy of the receipt of the new pair, dropped it off with the wife and she said her husband would call me when he finished up at the other location; as they have several. Today is Friday .... No phone call nothing. I went back just now to ask where my money was, the wife said " take your shoes, there's nothing wrong with them" I couldn't believe it ... after all this time, now they didn't want to give me anything. I told her I was over it all and I would be going next week to file a claim at small claims court. See you in court Jimmy's Cleaners!

I've been coming here since I moved to the neighborhood two years ago, and the fact that I was made to feel like a liar by someone who probably is not at all part of our community is troubling.
