If I could leave 10 stars, I would. We hired a VERY unscrupulous different well digger who smashed…read moreour septic pipe, didn't tell us, filled over the damage, took the broken pipe evidence away with him, buried the rest of the line at 12" instead of 4', and charged us close to twice what other well companies would have charged. We found out what he'd done when our bathroom flooded into our camp. Thank GOD for Megan at Western Maine Water!!!!! She sent out a crew right away, recommended the BEST excavator- Bill Wight- who redid the entire trench-and if you need an excavator Bill is the very best of the best- answered all our questions, sympathized with the awful position we were in, did incredible quality work including sending her crew to make sure we were squared away for winter.... I could go on. If you need a well dug, BEWARE of the scurvy dogs who will take your money and run. Western Maine Water is honest, helpful, fairly priced, and ethical. I'd never try anywhere else.

We had no running water unexpectedly. My elderly mother lives with me and she definitely can not go without running water for long. After explaining the situation with them they said they would be there within an hour. When they promptly arrived they accessed the situation, did some quick trouble shooting, and explained things effectively and fixed the problem quickly. They answered any questions we had and before leaving they asked if we had any other questions before they left. Their personalities were easy going, happy-go-lucky, and friendly. They seem to really love their work. I don't think people will be disappointed when hiring them.

Maine ProRoofing was actually the third contractor I contacted, the first was out of town, the…read moresecond, Erie, was a con job who wanted $45K for a mod bit rubber roof for an area of 15 squares. Mike Fox from Maine Proofing came out, walked on the roof, saw the existing patchwork and leaky vents that had been caulked some time ago. He agreed that there was enough slope for a metal roof. I chose a dark blue, standing (hidden) seam. I learned that the roofing was supplied by Maine Amish. I was happy to buy from a local source. Once the dumpster arrived, he and the crew got the job done in three days. The sheathing was intact and did not need replaced. I decided to have the shingles removed, and that was done. He and the crew installed new boots for the vent and caulked them--one of the old ones had a large hornet's inside! They installed a high temp ice and water shield over the whole roof. This was covered by a snap lock standing seam metal roof, 19 gauge, I think. They installed rake trim along the rakes and the gable ends complete with starter J channel, and Z closures at the cap installation, and used Geosill and butylene sealing tape where needed. The debris was cleaned up, at least 99%. I'm happy. I did not get the chance to borrow their ladder to take pics, but my stepson went up and confirmed that it was well done. Thank you, Mike and crew!
