While I waited, I chatted with Shout out to Christine C. (who, was wearing open-toe sandals in that mess of a storm), and it finally clicked--this was the food truck I had heard about! I'd already been hyped from the event, but now it was about to get real. Time to see if they lived up to the buzz. Aunty handed me my sandwiches--and let me tell y'all, they did not miss. Not on flavor, not on freshness, not on the care they put into making that food. The smash burger? Two juicy patties dripping with flavor, melted cheese, fresh tomato, and that bandit sauce. I don't know exactly what's in that sauce it's giving aioli vibes but whatever it is, it hit. I took one bite, and before I finished chewing, I already wanted another. Flavor on flavor. And the chicken sandwich? It didn't come to play either. A lot of chicken sandwiches are just... fine. This one pulled out all the tricks. The chicken breast was seasoned all the way through, battered with a crispy crunch (not soggy), and topped with fresh, crisp veggies. You could tell they battered it themselves. This wasn't some tired fast-food version. This sandwich had something to say and I heard it loud and clear. Food trucks can be hit or miss. At one point, they were the next cupcake trend everyone had one, but few stood out. Flavor Bandits Food Truck hit different. They're serving serious eats at solid prices, all from the window of a truck. Local business. Kind people. All-female run. And absolutely crushing it with big flavor and good vibes. Follow them on socials. Track them down. Get yourself a smash burger, a chicken sandwich, and don't forget extra bandit sauce. You'll thank me later. Easy 5 out of 5 stars.

Come to find out, this truck had recently relocated to Highland from Wallkill. So like a good Yelper I added a suggestion for their new address because these are some tacos the people of Highland need to know about. So 2 Asada and 1 Pollo for me and 3 Pollo tacos for my lady. $24 before tip. Pretty reasonable, because they load their tacos up with plenty of meat. We were offered hot sauce, and received one red and one green/ order. Beware, this ain't no Pico De Gallo situation these sauces were HHHOOOOTTTT, but paired well with both the steak and chicken tacos. Plenty of parking in their private lot, lots of signage and a porta-potty if you decide to enjoy your tacos then and there. There was one picnic table and umbrella. The meat for the tacos is always tender and it packs FLAVOR but not greasy. And the torta has a great ratio of tasty ingredients but the bread isn't too thick which can make the other ingredients get lost. The surf & turf was so well cooked, medium rare on the steak, tender salmon, very good mashed potatoes. My friend also really enjoyed her chicken dish. The food was well portioned and we were both satisfied after cleaning our plates without any leftovers. The only reason I didn't give 5 Stars is because I didn't get to have my ramen! They do have a set menu, but are usually more than willing to make some custom dishes for you as well.They're actually located on rt 9W by Alexis diner, on a side road in between the Shell and Citgo gas station.
