Storefront found inside the Dixie Park Centre

I haven't been to the Dixie Park Centre in years so I suggested to my parents to change things up.  The hunt was on to determine which of the 10 or so dining venues to buy lunch from in the food court. To our dismay, the food court tables were stacked and all seating removed; takeout was the only option.  Ugh! After scanning the various places and photos/menus supplied this place won a coin toss. Roasted duck and BBQ pork please, no rice.  The asking price was $16 which made no sense because they had a lunch special of 2 kinds of BBQ meats with rice for $10.  The meat quantity of our order looked so much like what the person before us received when he selected the $10 special. Skillful deception?  Rather than bicker with the owner, we paid and left. Final thoughts: disappointingly bland even though it looks good. Advice to others, don't be fancy and order the special!

BBQ duck on their special fried rice (don't know the real name) pic does not do it justice!!

I've been here once before a couple years ago and wasn't too crazy about the food. BUT TODAY.... I ordered bbq duck (my favourite comfort dish) on their special fried rice (don't know what it's called but it has veggies, shrimp & pork) and it was DELICIOUS. Crispy skin on moist and flavourful duck and the rice was amazing. I was afraid the rice wouldn't be flavourful but that was not the case at all. Absolutely loved the meal for a quick fix. Also I need to mention the service. The lady at the front greeted everyone with a welcoming smile and conversation. Places like these really make their fall with bad customer service but that wasn't the deal here. Excellent and quick experience all around! P.S - attached a pic but it really does not do it justice. Everyone in my office asked where I ordered from!

Yeung chow fried rice

I came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It was a late lunch for me. I had to drop by my workplace to pick up an item that I had forgotten to take with me on Friday. I crave comfort food these days. It's yeung chow fried rice at Chinese establishments. It gives me a way to compare all eateries at the food court. You get huge shrimp in the fried rice. I do like the fried egg, carrots, peas, and green beans in it, too. I love green beans, which you don't normally see in this fried rice at a food court. It was tasty. You get a huge portion. I also got a can of Diet Coke to wash everything down. If you buy two cans, you pay $2.50. I only needed one, but I remember this detail for some reason. This eatery gets busy. I got number 25 as my pickup order, which happened to be the same number on the menu. I would say that seven minutes later, my food was ready. I will come back here for the fried rice. I will try to sample other menu items, but this one was yummy that I may stick with it for a bit. The folks here speak Cantonese and English. You can also order a party tray of food if you are hosting a bash. (56)

This is one of my favourite Chinese food places. It's in a food court and it's got a wide selection of great food for a cheap price. You will see this place packed with people on weekends so I don't recommend visiting then. I ordered the beef fried noodles and its really filling for an affordable price. Can't recommend this place enough.

Yes this place hangs ducks at a small window to the side to let you know that yes they are legit, like Spadina Ave Chinatown legit. I had ordered two dishes from here. One was the duck on crispy noodles and the other was salty shrimp on fried rice. Both dishes came on a sizzling plate but weren't necessarily steaming all over the place when we received them. Both were dishes taking up most of the size of the tray and damn they were both heavy. It took two trips for me to carry each since each is a full tray with the hot plate on top of a piece of wood (you know so the plastic tray doesn't melt). While the shrimp was full with head, crunchy and hot it's what I expected. The rice that came with it was fine but the star of the duo was the duck on the "nest" noodles. That was good, fatty and yes it was what duck is. Both dishes together were not even 20 dollars and each was enough to feed 2 people or more. Good value here for special dishes like these the other places nearby don't have. I don't know if the place next to it is affiliated but their sign looks almost the same.

bbq and roasted pork on rice.... about $6

- decent little run of the mill chinese bbq place in the middle of an industrial area. - it's ok.... but considering where this is located, it's a gawd-sent if you're craving this kind of grub. - food court of this "mall" has about 7 different options for chinese eats...

Roast pork and soya chicken on rice. Side serving soup and veggies topped with ginger/scallions.

Let's face it. Dynasty BBQ Restaurant is not in the best mall in the world. But where does this type of food vendor belong? It's located in the middle of a line of other food vendors at Dixie Park's food court. Tip: It gets busy between 11:30am - 1pm. All the workers in the area rush in to buy their food and seating becomes very limited. I eat at Dynasty often. I'm used to the ducks and pork hanging in the window as I used to visit Toronto Chinatown frequently back in the day. I always order a combo dish: Roast pork and soya chicken on rice while wife has the roast duck and soya chicken on rice. Drinks are on special for 2 for $1.50. Comes with a side serving of veggies and a soup. Around $15.50 for two! They have a menu of other stir fry and bbq meals but I like to have a little variety. Their noodle stir fry topped with seafood or other meats are just as good and cheap. Great value and really good bbq for a very reasonable price.

Ok typical Chinese BBQ food located in a food court at Dixie Park. Usually very busy during the lunch rush as the nearby office workers have discovered the food court and it's very cheap prices. I would have taken a photo of my food but I was hungry this time and forgot and started on it already...

One of the better places at this food court. My usual eatery at this said food court. The food is cheap, good, and quick. At lunch the good court is a mad rush, and this place is especially busy. Nevertheless it is worth waiting inline for. The BBQ duck and chicken are good, but the hot plate menu is great. I especially recommend the Malaysian style noodles, the beef with mushrooms and noodles, and the spicey porkchops on rice. Bring your own drink to save some $ as its a food court. I sometimes go for a bubble tea from one of the other vendors.

Purchased Cantonese chowmein to go and saw this dead fly a few bites into the bokchoy . Can't say I'm surprised. Won't be eating from this place again!

They were quite busy with takeout orders which I took as a good sign. We ordered the Beef Sirloin Noodles level spicy and numb(4/5), Breaded Shrimp (5/5) Seafood Fried Rice (4/5) and Lamb Skewers (4/5). Beef Sirloin Noodles were delicious. The broth itself was not overly salty compared to other places we've been to. I enjoyed the addition of peanuts to this dish for that extra crunchy texture and nutty taste. The noodles were cooked perfectly. They were bouncy and chewy. The beef itself was good. Some were a tad bit chewy. I wish there was more bok choy. We'd also opt for extra spicy and extra numb next time. Breaded Shrimp was enjoyable. You can't go wrong with this dish. It was crispy, and the batter to shrimp ratio was decent. Seafood Fried Rice was good as well. Again, we liked how it wasn't overly salty. We were able to sense the taste of the seafood. I wish they added more scallops since we only got two pieces in the whole dish. Lamb Skewers were satisfying flavour-wise. We really liked the seasoning on them. It was on the chewier side but it was manageable. We'd like to try their other skewer options next time. Overall, such a good spot for affordable and delicious food. I'm glad my family recommended this place. I'd like to point out that a customer was being problematically entitled and rude yet the female server stayed professional. I thought she handled the situation quite calmly which I wanna commend her for. P.S. The restaurant has a sign on their door saying not to bring pets inside. So please read this and try not to bring your pet inside to avoid looking entitled and rude.

It is a nice local spot to get your Chinese food cravings fixed. Their menu seems to be the same for all locations, the only difference being the price, all locations potentially the same other than the downtown location. See their website: https://www.congeequeen.com/menu.php and select your location. It has been a while since we have eaten at the Congee Queen outside of the Toronto (Dundas/Yonge) location, so we were a bit surprised at the price difference (8-10% difference). This location (Heartland Town Center) feels like it has the right price for the menu. With cash, you also get a 10% discount. We were here on a Wednesday for an early dinner around 15:30 - 17:00 and it was about medium full for the main area. People were coming and going at a good pace. For our group of four, we ordered: - B3 Salmon Congee $11 ($12 downtown) - H11 Chicken Salted Fish Fried Rice $18.25 ($19.75 downtown) - K34 Fried Bean Curd with Veggie $19.50 ($21.50 downtown) - K42 Salt and Pepper Squid $16.50 ($18.25 downtown) - K53 Fried Chili Turnip Cakes $13.75 ($15.00 downtown) Service was a bit slow, but not the longest as there were only 2-3 staff taking orders that day for about 15-20 tables. If you signaled for assistance, they will come. Once ordered thought, the food came out in about 5 mins and all the dishes were ready soon after. Tea is refilled on request, just ask. As usual, the fried rice and congee is what they are known for, it was excellent as usual. Depending on the group you go with, YMMV, but for our order combination, this usually works comes out at the same time and everything is hot and tasty. The turnip cakes are the softer type and they even accommodated checking for shrimp. They are usually good about seafood checks. All in all, great experience. With the discount and tips all in, it was less than $100 total at $25 per person. It has been a while since we've eaten out with a group at that price point. Will keep in mind to meetup at any of the non downtown locations in future.

I am going to start with the most benign, probably had hundreds in my life you tiao (dough sticks). I have had these in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and all over GTA ..you get the idea. The ones here were among the best if not the best I've ever had. They are delivered to your table seconds from being in the fryer and are crisp, not oily and so light. Yes smaller than the standard, but just so good. 2.99 an order, order 2! They even have gluten cumin spiced skewers, and I have to tell you, they were delicious. But after 5 minutes, the cooler version were just not as good so eat when hot if u can. Everything we had was just delicious and made to order, piping hot.

The space here is definitely smaller but seating was still very comfortable. Ordering is done via QR code through phone. The staff was friendly and service was quick and prompt. I do want to say that their pricing is very fair and reasonable. There is also free parking in front of the restaurant. I was missing my time in Taiwan so I ordered the Taiwanese Braised Pork and Egg on rice. We also ordered Pumpkin Pie with Red Bean Filling, stir-fried rice noodles with bean sprouts, Juicy Chinese Pork Burger, and their Juicy Cheese Beef Burger. Everything was quite good especially the Chinese Pork Burger. The outer shell was so crispy and the pork meat was so juicy and was seasoned just right. The Taiwanese Braised Pork rice was good but definitely not as good as in Taiwan lol. Also, if coming here, you have to try their signature pan fried buns. That is what they are known for. We didn't order it this time because we've had it a bunch of times already. Overall, this restaurant always hits. It's not the most amazing food but like the name suggest, It is very home style comfort food.

I wanted to try Peking Duck and got clued into J&Y as one of the best options to try which did not disappoint. The Peking Duck was so tender, so flavorful and so wonderfully succulent. Scallions, cucumber, hoisin sauce completed each wrap which highlighted the duck. Definitely the best traditional Peking Duck preparation I've had in a very very long time. The remains of the duck were used for make a duck fried rice and duck soup, again both were amazing. It takes a certain skill to make fried rice cleanly without an excessive oily coating on each grain of rice. This was one of the best fried rices I've ever had! No gratuitous mushy frozen peas needlessly added either. Well seasoned fried pork ribs and veggies completed the courses I had, everything was truly wonderful and I hope to revisit again.

I've lived in Toronto, Durham, Peel and I can definitely say its been the hardest to find goood late night greasy Chinese food here in the Port Credit end of Mississauga. I'm still on the hunt! Customer service here was great. I called asked a few questions, than went in and grabbed a menu and went back to my car. Called over the phone and ordered she didn't know it was me and asked if i knew where they were located which was nice. So My order was General tao chicken ( we usually get chilli chicken but don't like it dry, prefer the sauced up spicy, so this is the equivalent at some places), chicken balls, chicken fried rice, and chicken wings. The total was about 40$, which is fair and the portions were alot less to what I was used to. The general tao chicken was not even a little bit spicy, even though she said it was so that was disappointing. On top of that the breaded part of the chicken was extremely soggy and the plate was full of soggy over cooked veggies underneath. the chicken wings were fried and greasy tasted great and well seasoned. Just not like what I'd usually get from a Chinese take out place as it just looked different the way it was breaded and fried. The rice was in a really small container w under cooked pieced of chicken that was very slimy and white and the rice was very bland. I had to overkill w soy sauce and bit of red sauce. Lastly the chicken balls of course 80% balls 20% chicken but tasted fine, just nothing special. I mean it was cheap and last minute but i definitely feel like i would not have ordered here if i had known cheap or not. They have alot to improve on or mayb they are better at making other items listed in reviews from others. Not sure how they have 5 stars. but hey to each their own right!
