I needed to get an oil change and the prices are decent here while the service is pretty good so I knew I wouldn't go anywhere else. While changing my oil, Dan and the tech, Nikolai, were able to find some other issues including my brakes, egr valve gasket and camshaft plug. They were honest with me regarding what they found and gave me a decent price without tryin to run me up which I appreciated. Overall, they did a great job with my car and they didn't try to push unnecessary work to be done on my car. I will continue to use them and I would highly recommend everyone else to as well. They have a reasonable labor rate and I noticed that they don't typically have overruns on the labor that some other shops do have. Also they will allow you to order your own parts from summit racing or JEGs and will review the order before you finalize to ensure proper parts abs fitment. I was impressed with the phone communication and that they were able to diagnose a problem that eluded the dealership. Also they like older corvettes and it shows as they know them and are willing to help out with restoration plan. They are worth checking out if you need a trustworthy mechanic in the area.

R&M Performance is hands down the best shop in Illinois…read more Honesty, integrity, and transparency are what I value most in the people I do business with--and Rei and Mark truly embody all of these qualities. From the beginning, Rei set the tone by reviewing my project thoroughly, being upfront about costs, and even asking follow-up questions to make sure his team could deliver the work at the highest standard. That professionalism was my first green flag. Mark handled the work on my car and went above and beyond my request. I asked for before-and-after photos to help me track carbon buildup for future maintenance, and not only did he deliver, he provided even more detail than expected. The results spoke for themselves: No more idling during cold starts, City MPG improved from 24-26 to 30-32, when I first bought the car off the showroom floor I was so impressed with the quality and transparency that I immediately scheduled additional maintenance and performance upgrades. It's worth noting that I drive from Libertyville to Palatine--often during rush hour--because the service, professionalism, and results at R&M Performance are far beyond anything else I've experienced. The distance and traffic are never a concern when I know my car is in such capable hands. The service was so good, I even brought in my wife's car. That alone should tell you everything. If you are looking for quality, professionalism, honesty, and reliability, I HIGHLY recommend R&M Performance.

They took my car in with late notice Tuesday morning, had it fixed and back on the road by Tuesday afternoon so I could get to my new job on Wednesday morning. Wednesday when I was driving home from work, I started hearing an awful hissing sound behind the dash. The shop had already closed by the time I would have been making my call so I didn't know exactly what to do. I decided to meet them at the shop when it opened this morning because the guys were so good about getting the previous repair done. I was dreading the thought of having to pay for a second repair in such a short time period (but trust me, that is my luck), and I had resigned myself to that being my reality. I just talked with Jamie at the shop and he said they will be covering the expense for the second repair because they are convinced they should have seen the damage yesterday. I was absolutely elated! Thank goodness for the guys at Mundelein Automotive!
