Stopped in here a few years back on the way to Shelton Fireworks. Jumped off I-90 to get gas...and this store was at the bottom of the ramp. Was very pleasantly surprised to find as good of a selection at even LOWER prices. Plus the service was great. They walked me through key recommendations with a cool video demonstration on their DVD player...and they all appeared to be expert pyros when it came to fireworks! Their recommendations were terrific....and the videos did not lie!!! I routinely have the BEST show on the block...and its to the point that my neighbors have me purchase their fireworks as well. This makes for a great block party on the 4th that the kids love...and I don't mind either as a self-proclaimed fireworks die-hard myself. They asked me to review their shop online - in order that more people might get a chance to avoid the other stores you frequently see advertised. There is no other place that competes as far as selection, price, deals and people plus its very close to Chicago. I have not been to another fireworks shop in a number of years...don't need to. I'll start out by saying I live 15 minutes from Wisconsin but would rather drive two hours to Hammond Indiana to get my fireworks from these guys. After seeing one of Kris' videos on youtube I called Dynamite fireworks and spoke to Kris' dad who assured me it would be well worth the trip but I could call back later when Kris would be there, so I did. After talking to Kris and his dad I knew I was making the trip to Indiana as soon as I got off work. I was NOT DISSAPOINTED! I spotted Kris in the store and told him I just want stuff that makes a big boom and he said " Oh, you're that kind of guy.." and proceeded to walk me around the store pointing out his personal favorites (mostly smaller 25 shot cakes that were really CHEAP and really LOUD) and I'm glad I took his word because these are the best fireworks I've bought (I've lit off about a quarter of them and it's not even the 4th of July yet..) Coolest most helpful people. They didn't try to upsell me, this is a side job for them they want to help give people an awesome firework show. Just moved to Chicago from MI - and was inundated by Fireworks billboards on the way into town. With fireworks being illegal in MI most of my life, did not know where to start...when I headed back to Grand Rapids for Memorial Day this weekend. Took a chance with this place. Located just off the Tollroad [very easy stop] right after the stateline. Thoroughly amazed! No more smoke bombs and sparklers for me. These guys show you their best items and favorites via a Video Demo BEFORE you decice to buy. Needless to say, it was a very pleasant and non-pressured experience. My box was 3X bigger than all my friends that I met back home even though my budget was half of theirs. The show I got for the money I paid was incredible. AWESOME fireworks shop!!! i was first time buyer of fireworks yesterday n i decided to drive to the shop from chicago, since i saw it on here (yelp) and it looked and sounded like a good and not to far shop. it was soooo awesome that i ended up going twice in one day. everyone is soo nice and helpful and work with you and your firework needs. i HIGHLY suggested making the drive and visiting the shop from the great variety of fireworks it has! read more

I like to keep my reviews as honest and as accurate as possible. Kris has alot of great products and some good prices but it seems like everywhere i go theres always a few items priced better somewhere else. Don't let that statement deter you though dynamite is a great place to shop, run by a gret gut and there quite a few deals to be had here. Dynamite will remain a go to for me. read more

Awesome place! The service is great, they have videos of all the fireworks so you see what your buying. They take their time with you no rush service great prices. Best fireworks to have ever been to. Ordered online at 6 in the morning was able to pick it up at store opening without hassle prices were fantastic thanks guys I really appreciate it.
