Iron Resolve Crossfit was one of the few area gyms that satisfied my two most important needs, solid programming and experienced coaching. Programming at Iron Resolve has been incredibly solid, with a good mix of olympic technique, basic core lifting, and thought out WODs. The current coaches, Dan and Mike, offer needed cues and help scale things down when needed. The space itself is fantastic, long enough space that you can run inside in the winter. Not sure if running in the winter is a point for or against Iron Resolve though...such a miserable thing to do. With a solid community behind it, this is a great place for the committed, but maybe not Games competitive, crossfitter looking to get stronger and faster. As some more accessory equipment is brought in, I'll probably end up taking this review to five stars, as that is one of the few, knocks against IRCF.

Now, as a a graduating senior in high school, I've been hooked into the fitness and health-centric lifestyle that all of the amazing trainers here encourage. The trainers themselves have become my family over the years (love you all!), and the people that I've met working out here have been so kind and made my first experience as a young person in a gym so much more comfortable. With a heavy heart, I'll be leaving this year to go off to college, but I can safely say that I'll find my way back to Infinity Fitness any time I can. Thank you all for such a wonderful time in my life! I'll miss you!

In the past, I was opposed to spending over $40 a month for a gym membership. Then Livingsocial had…read morea deal for Infinity Fitness so I tried it out. I have to say, best month of my life when it comes to fitness and working out. So I decided to continue for another couple of months. What they offer here is quite different than your typical gym and their trainers. Not only do you get experience doing unconventional workouts, but you gain knowledge on proper form, nutrition, goal setting, etc. And you get this all from the owners! To me that important. The ability to work daily with the people that run the establishment and believe in what they do speaks volumes. Dave, Dan and Howie are very personable during the bootcamp sessions that sometimes have 10-12 people. Every session feels like a one-on-one training session, which is not what you would expect. Overall, Infinity is a great place to go if you'd like to change your everyday boring gym workout to a fast-paced, personal, focused workout. I'd HIGHLY recommend Infinity Fitness to everyone (already referred someone who signed up for a month!).

Patrick, who works at the front desk, was extremely helpful and spent a good amount of time getting us to where we needed to go for a swim test. We were there to make an appointment but he called up Henk to ask if he could help us with this process. Henk was so friendly and helpful as well. Instead of making an appointment for another day, they asked if we had our swim clothes with us (thank goodness I prepared myself just in case) and had us do the swim test right then and there. Henk emailed us the letter with his signature a few hours after we completed the test. We were not charged anything for using the facilities and getting a test done. This was by far the best experience and the staff were so accommodating to us. I've been calling and emailing the Stamford YMCA for the same test and it was not as consistent as Darien (it took two weeks, two calls, and numerous emails to get help from them). Darien was extremely helpful and we are so appreciative of the staff there! Patrick is new to the YMCA but he was amazing. We greatly appreciate his help in contacting Henk for us. Henk's last day is Thursday so we came at the best time. He was incredibly friendly and excited for us as to why we needed this swim test. The facilities were amazing and the decor was beautiful. This was probably the nicest YMCA I've ever been to. Thank you Darien YMCA!! You really helped us with this!!

But when I show up to find out the club is closed the rest of today and tomorrow for a special event without any kind of in club, online, or proactive text / email communication, I'm just done with these people who could care less about their members' wellness. This place treats their customers and potential customers poorly and I am appalled at their incompetence and unprofessionalism.

The workout room itself is more spacious than your average glass box setup you'll find in more OT locations; making it feel like it's own gym. The staff and coaches here are excellent, particularly Dana and Alice. They definitely make you feel like you're there to workout with them rather than just mindlessly be instructed. The way they run their classes really caters to pushing yourself instead of you just trying to keep with the vibe they set; something I'm not a huge fan at other locations. They both have a killer playlist too if you're more into rock while working out. Highly recommend taking a class Alice if you want the best first impression of Orange Theory.

None of these 4 options offered me the motivation or structure to keep my commitment for more than 2 months at a time. I've been an active Koko member - going 3-4 times per week -- for a year and it's changed my life. I've not only dropped 25+ pounds but I ran my first half-marathon in May. Strength training programs are individualized for you, and each machine will lead you through your customized workout. It IS like having your own personal trainer, but automated, which is even better! There are also 15 minute cardio programs (on both the treadmill and elliptical) that are both quick to do yet intense enough to give you a complete workout. And, for those of you who are driven by data, each member can log on and access their workout history, track their strength gain, eBMI, and lean muscle mass progress. Koko even offers nutritional planning and menu options, based on your individual profile. Oh, and the place is immaculate, the staff is supportive and friendly, as are the other members. If you're looking for a new fitness club that will keep you engaged while also fitting into your busy lifestyle (did I mention that I'm a full-time working mom of 2 little boys?!?), you should definitely head into Koko and check it out.
