There was an incident that occurred at LA Fitness-Stratford with an employee and "manager" named…read moreNatalie (she would not give her last name). She gave a member of the club (Lillie Ennis and her son Landon) a hard time and would not let the young man in after allowing his friends to enter with no problem (his friends did NOT have a membership). Landon showed his membership card and Lillie Ennis called and verified that her son Landon was in fact on the account. Mrs Ennis even called her local gym in Trumbull which THEY VERIFIED her account and Natalie, the manager, PROCEEDED to deny her son access. What kind of employee, who claims to be a MANAGER no less, behaves in this manner? She then LIED on Mrs. Ennis saying that she treated her poorly and had an attitude which was completely FALSE. This situation needs to be handled effectively. Any employee who behaves this way to its patrons needs to be held accountable and consequences should be given. People are PAYING for a service and are being denied that service, because of what? Natalie's bruised ego because SHE was WRONG? To be completely honest, it sounds like an incident of DISCRIMINATION and if that's the case, something needs to be done sooner rather than later. It is unacceptable and if this is a business of QUALITY, then the appropriate actions should be taken against Natalie and anyone else who works for this company who behaves this way.

Our partnership began on a Sunday afternoon when both Marc and Frank came to my home for the initial consultation. Their professional approach included a thorough understanding of my status, goals and expectations. They clearly explained their recommendations and how we could move forward together. To put things in context I am a 74 year old male that has been complacent towards diet and exercise for most of my life. I came to realize that my complacency was no longer a viable lifestyle and I needed guidance with a sustainable plan that would address building strength and good nutritional habits. For the past 5+ months Frank has been coming to my house 3 days a week to work with me in meeting those goals. I couldn't be more pleased with the progress we have made. Frank is the perfect personal trainer. He is professional, respectful and very personable and that coupled with his expertise and knowledge has made my experience rewarding and enjoyable. Frank knows how to motivate and challenge me. His first concern is my safety. He always makes sure I am executing my exercises properly and that I understand the purpose of each exercise. He also makes sure I keep up with proper nutrition. I can't comment on how the classes are because it never made it that far. When I called, I asked…read morefor pricing information and the lady on the phone sidestepped my question and asked "When can you come down?". As a sales manager, I was actually impressed but I asked again and she said she would "email me all the information". I relented. That email was just a video of the gym. That's called a lie. I went down there while they had a class going and it was extremely loud but I said I would come to take a class in later that day. Before I left, the lady asked if I wanted to buy the wraps now (skin in the game tactic) and I said no. When I arrived for the "free class" the man behind the counter said, "1st class will be $25 and wraps are included". I asked what the monthly charge is and he said "We go over that after class" I said I am not going to buy wraps if I don't know what the monthly charge is. He looked at me with disdain but quickly went back to the cheerful salesman. Another person started going over the prices with me and it reminded me of a follow-the-ball under-the-cup game. She kept flipping the paper over to show their "amazing schedule" which I admit was pretty good. I couldn't afford it but even if I could I don't think I would have signed up. Just be transparent and don't waste my time.

DO NOT GO HERE. Do not sign anything this gym gives you. I wanted to cancel a yearly contract…read morebecause a family member got sick and I could not afford the monthly payments and they were extremely uncooperative. They will not give you back another copy of your contract because it is "archived" and will give you the run around when you want more information. DO NOT GO HERE. Their monthly fees are expensive and when your contract is over they will swap you over to monthly which is more expensive without telling you. Also the staff are con artists and when I agreed to go through my whole contract they tried to trick me into paying an extra month and finishing my contract a month early to make me feel better. DO NOT GO HERE
