I was visiting family for Thanksgiving weekend and my check engine light went off. I was very stressed because I had a 13 hour drive back home and needed to know if the car was safe to drive. I was recommended by an employee, that was my first mistake. My car would not go out of 1st gear, all the rest of the gears worked fine. When I picked it up i asked what was wrong with it because they did a trans check and found absolutely nothing wrong. He said it was on the receipt. 700 dollars later, car doesn't even move now.. THEY will take no Responsibility at ALL...funny how there was nothing wrong and come to fine out there was no trans fluid in the transmission, not a drop. Lucky to of got it home.. I needed a new transmission and my bud Ethan recommended this place, they had my diagnoses and a whole game plan ready by the next day and when I accepted it only took a couple days to get it done. Ended up being cheaper then the quote. They have loaners too but you need a good heads up to get one, since they're busy so the loaners are going out frequently. read more

These guys are polite, friendly and have always been able to get my car in for service quickly. However their rates are on the higher end, and I have been disappointed in the quality of work I have received the last several visits. This last time, I had an oil change and they also replaced the head gasket. A thirty minute drive later and there was oil all over my engine and smoke everywhere. We took my husbands truck there to have his winter tires put on his new truck. They never called to let us know that hey we need to keep your truck over night do to the machine had to be fixed and I had to call and call just to find out cuz they were never going to call. Finally got it back the next day and didn't think anything of looking too close but my husband later looked to find that they put huge scratches into the rims when they changed the tires. When he went back they were not nice about it at first. And then told us they had a guy that can fix them. This guy works on high end vehicles all the time and does a great job. Again no one called they said it would be done end of day and my husband went there and truck is sitting in parking lot and the rims look like someone took black spray paint and just painted over them in 15mins. The rims look horrible now and they were perfect and had not a single mark before going there. If you want your nice vehicles to be respected don't take them to this place. They should owe my husband a new set of rims but we are the ones getting screwed. read more

I was looking for an honest, competent repair shop close to home that would check out what I assumed was a bad brake on my Jeep. Glad I found this place. The good part: Mark got me right in at a convenient time. Living two miles away, I thought I'd take advantage of their shuttle service, mentioned on the website. Instead Mark hooked me up with a loaner for the day. The great part: they called to let me know that in fact my brake pads and rotors intrinsically were in excellent shape. The problem was some rust deposits on the rotor from the wonderful Michigan winter. There was no safety issue and they recommended NOT replacing the rotor (although that would have solved the noise problem). They were honest in not upselling me on a repair that I didn't really need. Total charge ~$35 The best part: In the process of investigating the problem, they fixed it. Noise is gone. I've found my new repair shop. read more

Don't come here. I live nearby and when I was getting on Chicago Drive, I saw them "test driving" my car I took there a few days ago and they just accelerated to the point where black smoke started to come out of the exhaust pipes. So I don't recommend going here to get your car repaired. Chances are, it'll break down even more if they test drive it the way they did. read more

After having some repairs done, and having tires replaced, sun was going down the highway 70 mph and the tire flew off. This was one month after having Dykstra's put on our tires. Call them and ask them if they would stand by their work, and they said no because my son had already put on 1000 miles going to work and back, which to me is a normal amount of miles in one month. They did not feel that they can prove that they were responsible. I said, "we didn't put the tires on you did and we trusted that they were put on right, not expecting them to fall off after a month. We've had many tires put on many vehicles at different businesses and have never had this problem." He would not budge and said it was not his fault. So my son had a toll truck charge, Dykstra didn't feel good about putting the tire back on that fell off which was brand new, so he had to buy another new tire. I asked the manager if they would at least work with him and meet him halfway, and he said, "yes they would definitely work with him. " Sons bill was $217 to fix and he told him he would charge him $198. What a joke!! The final kicker was, when the toter driver came to pick up his car on the side of the highway at 10:30 at night, his exact words were, " boy, I don't know what's going on with Dykstra's lately. They usually do a good job, but lately we've been picking up a lot of cars after they've been fixed by them. " I know we will not be going back, and we will not be encouraging any friends or family to go back. I went to Dkystra to have them look at a car I was thinking of buying from Todd Wentzel Superstore and they cleared it with minor fixes here and there. Bought the car on Saturday, February 15, 2016 and on Saturday, February 20th I made an appointment at 9am with Lentz USA in Holland because the car was making even more weird sounds and shaking. Dykstra gave me an estimate of $400-500 for repairs and the car would be good to run. Lentz USA warned me that I had full on broken parts, parts that were almost broken and would consider it dangerous and unsafe to drive. I was shocked! Dealerships always service the cars before they sell them but then to have Dykstra look at it and not even catch obvious broken parts is appalling. I spent $2000 on a cat that I clearly stated I needed to get me from college to my medical appointments and to Grand Rapids at most and I know have a car that is a lemon car needing $1177.29 in essential repairs and then in repairs in the next month. This is with a 20% student discount from Lentz USA. Disappointment is all I can think of right now especially since I raised the money to buy the car for the purpose of being able to access medical appointments and being able to be considered reliable a job source. read more

I went there for the first time in hopes of them becoming my trusted car service station since they are just a couple of minutes away. I told them the symptoms my vehicle was having and made an appointment. They called me back and told me they drove it up and down Chicago Dr. and couldn't find anything wrong with it. They didn't didn't do anything to my vehicle, spent only minutes with it, and charged me $37 with no information at all. I will not go there again. read more

should be called do it again dykstra's had 2 different vehicles in their shop had to be brought back in 2-3 times for same issue. they just threw parts at it and said it was fixed. ended up bring it to muffler man and they fixed it the first time!! read more
