The old service manage Vince worked with my father years before and was honest as the day was long. I never knew he worked with my father until I told him my father was a mechanic for almost 50 years and I told Vince where he worked. He retired. I do most all of my own vehicle work, but on occasion I used to go to Real Pro Auto in Wyoming. I had my truck in there the last time I went to Real Pro Auto in Wyoming. Before my truck was off the lift I asked the mechanic and service manager if they could give me a price on the exhaust manifold getting replaced, and only the exhaust manifold, I could do all the other work myself. The service manager and the mechanic immediately told me they would have to replace my whole exhaust system, and it would probably be over $3,000. I knew better, and I knew they were just trying to up-sell me. I always laugh when any shop gives me a list of things that need repair, and I know 80%-90% of those things have just been done or are not bad enough for me to worry about yet. After they told me that they would need to replace the whole exhaust system, I asked them "Why would I need to have the other exhaust manifold replaced, it isn't leaking, and why would you have to replace the whole exhaust system and not just what I was asking you to do?" The both said that they would only replace the exhaust manifold if I agreed to replace every single exhaust piece. I know the talk from service managers, and mechanics, I grew up knowing many because of my father. They give the customer a big list on what needs to be done, or things they think up, even if they don't ask for it, then hope the customer is dumb on vehicle repairs and believes that everything needs to be done ASAP in their shop. I was so pissed they wouldn't budge at just fixing what I wanted fixed, and leaving the rest for me to fix. It wouldn't be a safety issue, it wasn't a request to get rid of the Catalytic Converters, (Which I know is illegal for them to do). I could buy OEM parts to replace my whole exhaust myself for under $675 if I wanted to. In there defense I know I would need to figure in the cost of the hours of the mechanic if I agreed to have them do it. But $2,325 of mechanic hours, and $675 or less for parts??????? I don't think so. I will just say this, I met the owner John many years ago, and he seemed like a nice guy. However, I truly think he hired the wrong people after Vince left. Maybe John gives the service managers a bonus if they bring in more money than his other locations, who knows, seems like it though. Maybe John should look at reviews before and after Vince left and compare them. I would bet he will see the reviews hit the floor after Vince left. After my last visit at Real Pro Auto in Wyoming I got an automated text by John on my other vehicle needing something in regards to work. How would he know? They seen the other vehicle 1.5 years before, and never after that. Then I got an automated text another month saying it was John, (I knew it was a automated text), and that one asked me why I haven't been there in a while. I almost replied, however I know he can't be at all three locations all the time and probably has no idea what goes on during most of the day in all locations, so I ignored that text instead of complaining. Now I am warning people, Real Pro Auto when it was smaller with one location was great, now they are bad in my opinion. read more

I ended up paying 79 dollars for a check-up to know the problem with my car, and in the end they never knew what the car has. If they don't know what he has in the diagnosis, why do you charge me if in the end you didn't help me find out what the car has? read more

Craig is so kind and generous with his time, no matter how many customers he's juggling at once. Even on a busy, understaffed day he spent over 20 minutes walking me through all the ins and outs of every recommended service for my car, helped me prioritize what I could reasonably afford right now, and even showed me how I could do a few things myself. He was so patient and not pushy/salesy at all. I am so thankful to have found a mechanic I can trust! These guys are great! I've been looking for a local place to take my Kia Soul and this is it. The waiting area is CLEAN and comfortable. The guys are polite and well spoken. My first visit was for an oil change and tire rotation, and they told me my car has been losing oil (there was no oil on the dipstick!!) but didn't have any leaks. Apparently something not that unusual for this type of car but nobody had mentioned this before when I took it to the dealership for service. These guys told me I can come in periodically to have the oil level checked before my next oil change so they can keep an eye on it for me. They also identified 2 other things I suspected would be needing work soon and gave me an estimate for fixing them. No pressure or upsell, just letting me know. I went ahead and scheduled the service right there. Their pricing was very fair also. Highly recommend them for your car care needs! read more

Very disappointed they charged me for services that they didn't even do. Had to take to another mechanic just for them to find the issues. I stated that I had an oil leak and my catalytic converter was bad they said it was the valve cover causing the oil leak which was not the case. I will never take my vehicle there again read more

I called up real pro auto to get a quote and timeline estimate for radiator repair for my jeep on Wednesday and by end of Thursday they had it fixed and ready for me. The team there kept me in the loop with any concerns/issues they had, the quote was reasonable and they were able to fix it fairly quick. My experience was nothing but amazing and I will definitely go back to them in the future if I have any other maintenance issues. I highly recommend them!! read more

I was looking to buy a used car on 28th street and needed a mechanic to quick look over my car and make sure there were no issues before I purchased the vehicle. When I called other mechanics they all turned me down except for here. When I brought the car in they had a mechanic look over the car and he even offered to drive the car to see how it feels. Afterwards he told me all the information he knew and even showed me many of the details of the car while also explaining basics (not super smart when it comes to cars). Even knowing I was very uneducated in this area he never tried to lie or deceive me and was open and honest with all information he had on the car. After all of that I begged him to let me at least leave a tip for over 30 minutes of his time but he refused to let me pay and explained that it was no problem at all and he was happy to help. Overall super awesome experience would 100% come back again if I ever have car troubles. Highly recommend if you are near the area!!! read more

I was between a rock and a hard place because my truck would start but wouldn't stay running! I am in our busy season at work and needed my vehicle to drive the 13 miles to work. They loaned me a nice vehicle to drive, and took the extra time, went the extra mile, to clean out my entire fuel system and save me from having to have all my fuel injectors replaced. The man at the desk said that they had no openings that day but that I could make an appointment for the next day, the 24th, at 3:30pm. Stay away. I have used the Saranac location several times and have had poor repairs and they tried to pull a scam on me big time. The first problem was with a van that we had them try to fix an electrical issue with the tail lights burning out bulbs. I paid for it the first time then had to take it back 3 or 4 more times after they said it was fixed. I even paid again another time. There was obviously a short somewhere and they weren't able to even test it to find the problem. They tried to charge me a couple of the other times as well for the same repair. Wasted time, money, and a big inconvenience. Just recently I brought another vehicle in there on 12/12/2018 due to a shake in the front end. They provided me an estimate after their COMPLETE inspection stating "Drivers front caliper is seized up and has warped the front rotors and pads--Replace front brake calipers, pads, and rotors--brake rotors are very rusted and will need replacement. The calipers are also not moving and will need replacement. Brake fluid is very dark and recommend flush." Then they go on with the inspection notes that say they need to "remove and replace the manifold gasket, replace the spark plugs, replace the wires, replace the thermostat housing, replace the water pump inlet tube, replace the upper radiator hose, and replace the lower radiator hose." The estimate was over $1200.00 for these needed services. Here is the best part. They told me on the phone that the brake pads on the driver were worn down to the metal and they damaged the rotor. They said the radiator hoses were old and stiff and the engine had an oil leak from the manifold gasket. The facts are that I had just replaced the rotors myself along with the pads less than 300 miles prior. I also had the van detailed including the engine bay as I was getting it ready to sell. Another shop (Elite Auto Clinic) had looked at it and did some repairs that were needed unrelated to any of these items on November 2 2018 and came up with no recommendations for any of these items. So, I questioned the service adviser about these things and told him that the rotors and pads were new, the brake fluid was flushed less than 300 miles ago, the radiator and hoses were replaced within the last year, and there were no leaks from the engine anywhere. Then the lies started as he tried to explain away this bogus inspection. I told him I would pick up the vehicle and to not touch it further. We pick up the vehicle and they give me a bill for $42 for the inspection. I brought the vehicle back to my business and didn't notice any grinding at all. I took the front drivers side wheel/tire off and as I suspected, the pads were still in perfect shape. The rotors still looked new and there was absolutely no metal on metal contact from the pad to the rotor. I took photos and called the owner to discuss this. I offered to send the photos to him and he stated he wanted to see them as he has never had any problems like this and if what I was saying was true, he would fire the technician. He wanted to do a full investigation and asked if I would show him the vehicle. I told him I would and told him to come to my shop. Well, he never did come and inspect it. The only thing they had correct was that the front drivers caliper was malfunctioning and needed replacement and the rotor was warped. They quoted me $122 for a caliper plus labor when I spoke to the service adviser 12/12/18 when I asked just for that repair but that it would need a new rotor as well. I knew that it didn't need a new rotor. That price was crazy over inflated as well. I purchased a new caliper for $65 at O'Reiley's and they turned the rotor which had a slight warp in it for $10. They stated that the rotor was still at manufacturers specs and it was completely safe to turn it and there was no need for a new rotor. So for a total of $75 plus tax and an hour of my labor I fixed the original issue. Real Pro Auto buys their parts at a discount so would have paid considerably less than I did and then they mark the parts up to their customers well up over 100% in this case. The vehicle never needed any of the "recommended repairs" found in the "inspection". It was obvious that they never even removed the front drivers wheel/tire. The pads were not worn. The rotor was not damaged or rusted. They didn't look at the engine as there was no oil on it anywhere. They didn't look at the radiator as it was almost new and so were the hoses that were still black and flexible and were obviously replaced previously and had new clamps on them. The technician is still working there and so is the service writer. The owner wasn't interested in checking out my vehicle in person. He did have the photos I sent him proving this inspection was bogus and the estimate was bogus but his statement about being so concerned about this matter was all hot air. If I could give less than 1 star I would. read more

Be Careful of this Place! We had a very bad experience with Real Pro Auto Service. My daughter took her car there for some noise coming out of the rear driver's side wheel, and after having to pay $44.50 for an inspection, she was give a written estimate for all kinds of repairs which totaled over one thousand, five hundred dollars. ($1,500) They were trying to sell her things that were not needed at all. (Even six new spark plugs for the cost of $126 which were just replaced earlier in the month. What do spark plugs have to do with a noise coming out of a rear brake assembly anyway?) So, we took the car to a second mechanic where it was determined that it was a faulty rear brake caliper making the noise. And, no where on fifteen hundred dollar estimate from Real Pro did it even list that particular part which was making the noise in the first place and the reason she went there. The second mechanic charged her $135 complete for a new caliper and labor and the noise was gone. So, buyer beware of this place. They should be ashamed of themselves for trying to rip off a young woman trying to make her way in the world, of for that matter, anyone! read more

This place used to be good but new management has made this place really bad. There used to be some quality people that worked there and now it's run by lazy people who don't know what they are doing. I brought my car in there to simply put some new wheels mounted and balanced. Dropped it off an noon and they call me at 4:30pm to tell me they couldn't do it and to come pick my vehicle back up. Not a sorry or a good reason. That's horrible business. Don't waste your time.
