The best orthopedics ever!!!! I went to Dr. Ratliff (after being told by another orthopedic that I…read moredid not have a fracture) Dr . Ratliff did his own xrays saw that my wrist was fractured. He immediately put a splint on and eased my pain and was now ready to heal. I then went for MRI and he found I also tore some ligaments and gave me a choice for hard cast or keep splint. I chose a hard cast , but do to my own chlostorphobic issues had to have it removed by Dr. Denoble who was good and caring enough to meet me on a Saturday. I went back to a splint which was a personal better choice for me. I cannot describe how wonderful and caring these Drs are !!! They are such great doctors who truly care about the treating , healing, and also their patients feelings .My mom has also been a patient of Dr.Stern for years ( she has had many health issues from a broken hip , arthritis, ect.)always been treated wonderfully by her and healed her health issues. I would never go to another orthopedic group and I would refer them to any one who needs an orthopedic Dr. . I am so grateful that I listened to my body and chose to go to Dr. Ratliff and am a patient of this wonderful orthopedic team. I also cannot leave out how wonderful the office staff is too! Look no further if you're in need of upper extremity orthopaedic care. Modern Orthopaedics of New…read moreJersey is absolutely fantastic. I recently had a tennis injury that resulted in a lot of wrist pain causing discomfort to my dominant hand. A friend suggested I see someone at Modern Orthopaedics of New Jersey, as they have an extensive knowledge of wrist injuries. The office staff was lovely, efficient, and incredibly helpful. They were able to schedule a consult for me quickly which was fantastic. I met with Dr. Stern who took the time to listen, review my pain and answer all of my questions. She performed an x-ray onsite and discussed the images with me which was very helpful. From beginning to end, the entire office staff went above and beyond to make sure I was well taken care of and looked after. I highly recommend.

Something changed at Doctor Matarese's office:…read more I fell in December and injured my right hand (dominant). I waited a few weeks and hoped it would get better on its own. No such luck. I saw the doctor and he diagnosed it as a nerve issue and put me on anti-inflammatory meds. The pain got worse and I started to lose the ability to use my hand. For example, I couldn't twist door knobs or open bottles without shooting pain. After a while, I was unable to write or sign my name normally. A few weeks later, I went back to the doctor. I was in the waiting room for 45 minutes, finally got called to the exam room where I waiting another 45 minutes. For 30 of those 45 minutes, a new employee I have never seen before was pacing in the hallway between the exam rooms. She had dark straight haired, medium height, Caucasian and wore a white lab coat (it wasn't Patrizia). While pacing back and forth, she was carrying on a conversation with the office staff, laughing and joking loudly. It was irritating, but whatever. Her and the doctor came in the room, she stood with her back to me at the computer the whole time. The doc wanted to keep me on the meds, in hopes it would improve. I tried explaining it was getting worse. He asked "Are you in pain now?" to which I answered "No, but that because I'm just sitting here. It only hurts when I use my hand, which is all the time because I'm right handed". The doctor then starting speaking with the women, as she typed notes into the computer, and he said "patient exhibits no pain", then he was called out of the exam room to answer a phone call. So, with the doctor out of the room, I asked "Let me ask you, am I being clear that I am in pain, which can be excruciating at times when I use my hand?" I felt as if I wasn't communicating effectively with the doctor. With her back to me, she turned her head slightly and responded "Ahhh, Yeah!". Ok, a bit rude I thought, but once again, whatever. As the doctor entered the room, she stopped him at the door and said "He wants to make sure you understand that he is in excruciating pain". She over emphasized the word "excruciating" as she dragged out the sentence. I was mortified as she was clearly mocking me. The doctor paused, looked at her over his reading glasses with a quizzical look. I think even he was surprised. After a moment of silence, he simply responded with "uhm, yeah, ok" and changed the subject. The doctor was called out of the room two more times, but finally I pointed out a mass on my hand that wasn't there before the injury. He ordered an MRI. I wasn't going back to that office to be mocked again. I took the results to another nearby orthopedic. The MRI results showed soft tissue damage in my hand. I wore a splint for a few weeks and then I was fine. I do believe Matarese is a great doctor. Patrizia the PA and Diane the x-ray tech are wonderful people and excellent healthcare providers. It's always a pleasure dealing with them. Unfortunately, after seeing the doctor for six years, I don't think I'll be back. I hope the person I met that day is retrained in patient care, customer service and common sense.

This review is about Nikki Greone I am a new patient to Dr. Mahmood. I had an injury to my elbow…read morefrom a fall as well as a knee injury that has been going on for a while. I had to be scheduled for a nerve test and meet the sweetest women. Ms.Nikki Greone Im sure im not spelling her name correctly. But, she was so pleasant . She made sure to make my appointment at a time that was convenient for me and for my follow up as well. When I called because I was in pain Nikki showed genuine concern. She even checked up on me . Because of her kindness and care I will be returning to Dr. Mahmood office . I had previously decided not to return due to the last visit where I didn't feel seen or heard. But , after speaking to Nikki and feeling her care and concern I decided that if shes there I will give them another try. Nikki reminded me of a time when doctors cared about their patients. When they went the extra mile to show their concern. Now days its about numbers and how much insurance you have before you can even make an appointment. Nikki is a real asset to that office and will prove to be a diamond wherever she goes ,because she has a heart of concern that cannot be bought or taught . It's simply a part of who she is and the best part of that office. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK NIKKI . YOUR WORK SPEAKS FOR ITSELF .
