I need to to come to the store more often but the quality of the clothing is so good it's lasts a long time. I was in Minnesota a couple of weeks ago and went to a DXL store and it was like finding an oasis in the desert. I won't mention the name of the chain department store that supposedly had large Men's clothing but the selection and quality wasn't even comparable. As soon as I walked in the door I literally let out a sigh of relief. Once back in LA my store is a half mile from my house and I picked up some much needed items. I will from now on go to the store at the beginning of every season to buy something to keep me in style so my kids will leave me alone. read more

Wow what a big difference between the DXL I went yesterday. The young man was friendly and very knowledgeable ,he greeted right away. An he was the only one in the store. I forgot to get something and I spotted this store . This store no one greeted me and I looked around tried some shoes and not one of the 3 people working there even made I contact with me. I was reading the reviews as I needed some clothes for my brother-in-law and was skeptical about going. WHAT AN AMAZING STORE...and I had the opportunity to work with Taylor (Ridgedale) who was so helpful. I had gone to JC Penney and found some things, went to Kohl's with NO LUCK (only athletic) and I needed to find a green shirt (long story). Taylor took me to every green shirt in the store. I had no idea this store was so nice. I expected very urban fad type clothing and what I noticed was fashionable stylish quality clothing for our teddy bear sized men. oh-wee baby my hubby is a double xl and it can be hard to find clothes that are not plain and old fashioned looking. The smell inside the store was fantastic also---they are now pumping in a fragrance like some of the stores at the mall. The management must do a fantastic job here because it is oh-so clean and tidy and fresh looking. Blown away by the display areas for certain! This is absolutely the best large men's store. The store is friendly and accessible to its customers. 100% steadfastly for the customer. They are engaged, with full attention to detail. The best inventory for their employee stylists. I am so loving the ideas and values this place has. If you want to look good and express yourself... this is the place to go. New inventory all the time. They send out monthly or tri monthly coupons. If you forget it, they have it in their database, to use. I can't say enough good about this store and their staff. My son just got his first professional job, and he needed a new wardrobe quickly. The manager of the Roseville, Minnesota, store, Ginger, was more than we could have asked for. I swear the woman has ESP. She got my son everything he needed, in the sizes and colors he wanted, and we were in and out in a half hour. These people know their stuff. The prices were great. The contempt this store shows for its customer base is palpable the moment you walk through the doors. Before you see your first outrageously marked up price tag, one of their workers will sidle up to you and ask if you've ever been in a store before. Thinking their customers incapable of navigating all the life altering decisions that come with buying a shirt, they strive to be your best friend, your shopping buddy and an usher at your wedding all within the first five minutes of hassling you through the front door. I'm willing to put up with overly aggressive shirt jockeys if the price is right. Or, I'll pay extra for what I need if I don't feel like there is a pan handler constantly standing in the corner staring at me. Sadly, DXL charges way too much and requires its staff to be far too aggressive for me to ever consider going back. read more

They hound you the second you walk in. Of course 99% of us want to see what is on the floor first, but that's how they are here. And if you don't keep one of them glued to your hip (which is not relaxing to the customer), good luck using the dressing rooms or checking out. With their marked up prices, it's just not worth it. This store is a refreshing take on men's big and tall clothing. Finally, a store that's not the size of a closet that carries brands I recognize and clothes that actually reflect style. Whether you're a sports fan, looking for a suit, dress shirts or higher end brands of clothing like Polo, Nautica, Brooks Brothers or even Robert Graham DXL has you covered! The customer service has always been amazing. I highly recommend that you ask for Ginger when you go into the store. She will make sure that you're not only looking your best but isn't afraid to find something that fits into your budget. While the store doesn't have traditional sales like other large retail stores, it has an amazing rewards program that gives you rebates on what you've purchased in the form of a gift certificate. Coupons are very common - always check the website! (sadly some are online only, however many are good in-store as well.) Are their prices higher on some things than say, JCPenney's, yes, however on many things their the exact same price you would pay at another retail store - particular the brands like Polo, etc. Don't forget to make a trip to the back clearance room where I've found great deals on high-end merchandise of up to 75% off! No other store offers the service or shopping experience that DXL does and because of that, I am willing to spend a bit more. One last money saving tip - do the survey on the bottom of your receipt that you get every time​ you shop and you can save money EVERY time you shop in the store! read more

Traveled over an hour to get here as it's the only store close to my home. Usually have a staff member's undivided attention, but didn't have anyone greet us today or even offer help in finding anything. If the husband's size is so popular, why not have more in stock. Instead of buy 2 for a certain price, we were only able to buy 1 pair of shorts and 1 pair of jeans. Bought 2 belts that the price tag showed $39.50, yet rang up $49.50. Manager refused to honor ticketed price due to it not being ticketed correctly. Overall today's experience was the worst I've ever experienced here. I'll save myself the time, stress, headache and money and shop online from now on. This kind of treatment is why brick and mortar stores in strip malls don't stay in business long. read more

I purchased what I thought was a leather belt from DXL Roseville, MN. The black started peeling off at edges and cracking bad at holes so I tried to return it. Apparently I waited more than 90 days since purchasing and the manager was unwilling to do anything for me. Her exact words were, "you should invest in a more durable belt if you are going to wear it daily." As if it was my fault for knowing it was only wrapped in leather. How you could call anything that thin leather I still dont understand, but it is clear to me now that DXL finds it not only acceptable to sell a "leather" wrapped belt they don't expect to last many more than 90 uses but that it is appropriate to insinuate I am cheap for purasing one and expecting it to be actually made of leather and last much more than 90 days. But it doesn't stop there. I figured if I reached out to corporate they would set things straight. But nearly 2 weeks later no reply. So I left a bad item review on their retail website, commented on their Facebook page, and wrote them on Messanger. Today I expected they would finally reply back. Again no. Instead today they spent their time blocking me from leaving comments on their FB page and also from Messager. Yes instead of reaching out to me regarding my experience they blocked me from sharing my experience with others so they can continue to steal money from their customers. Please don't make the same mistake I made by steering clear of their merchandise. read more

Will never go back. Went to buy a belt for my husband. Salesperson showed me a 50.00 belt and I said it was too expensive. In a real snarky tone he said he could sell me a pleather one for 40.00. I said I was looking for one around 25.00. He said even more snarky, " You must shop at bargain stores." And he walked away. I went across the street and got one a Kohls for 23.00. Today was the third time I went to this store and it's the first time I've had a good experience there. Usually I've had the same kind of customer service as the other people have described where the sales person is attached to your hip and trying to sell you stuff you don't need. They're known for having the kind of customer service that makes me shop online. Maybe it was because I got there 5 minutes after they opened but when I walked in, a person went through the usual speech until they asked me if I knew where to find the things I was looking for. I then pointed to the three places they were kept and she said "Okay, let me know if you need anything." and walked away. That's the kind of customer service I want to see in a clothing store, not someone pressuring me into buying things I don't want because they need to make commission. I recently purchased several pairs of jeans, a belt and a few t-shirts from this location and though my purchasing experience was pleasant it all went down in flames today. My wife went into the store for me to return a pair of jeans because 2 of the belt loops had already pulled off on the bottoms and 1 other one was starting to tear. She had the pleasure of dealing with a lady who very unfortunately for the employees and future clientele was a manager and after explaining the issue to her my wife wasn't offered any amount of empathy or an apology but rather a list of excuses and reasons why I damaged the jeans due to misuse. I had worn the jeans 2 times and had owned them for a week and at $70/pair I get no enjoyment in damaging or misusing them. She first claimed that their in house tailor could repair them and that was the only option. With holes in the jeans now my wife felt that wasn't an option. My wife suggested possibly just exchanging them and she was told that they could exchange them but the wouldn't warrant a second pair for the same "misuse" and we would be on our own. The jeans ended up being exchanged for a different pair of jeans all together but I wish I could return the whole $4XX.XX worth of clothing I purchased from them last weekend and bring my business elsewhere. I assure you I will never be back to this location and will make sure others I know that frequent that location are aware of my experience. read more
