I hired Affordable Plumbing Sewer & Drain to clear my sewer line. They told me it was done, but…read morewithin just a few days my drains were backing up exactly the same as before. The City of Columbia checked the line and confirmed the issue was still on my side, meaning the line was never fully cleared. I reached out to the company several times, but they stopped responding. I haven't been able to shower or do laundry for days. Any reputable drain company offers a callback/warranty, especially when the problem returns this quickly. Instead of fixing their incomplete work, they left me with the same issue and no communication. This has been extremely stressful and unsanitary, and I've received no support or follow-up. I hope they do the right thing and correct this, but as of now I cannot recommend them.

Called Affordable after being told by Roto Rooter that no promises can be made to avoid paying Double! No promises could be made by Roto Rooter that they would even arrive at my home! Affordable showed up within 2 hours! I know for a fact no other plumber would have given me the price affordable charged me for all the plumbing and other services he did for me and my family! He had to return twice and showed up exactly when he said he would! Not sure why others say he doesn't return because that is simply not true. I highly recommend David and Affordable Plumbing!!

Most of the employees were still snowed in but the nice young man we talked to said he would call when he got there so we could come down and purchase our part. When the counter girl got to the store, she returned our call and informed us that they do NOT sell parts, she said she didn't even know how to look them up...she didn't seem to understand that we bought our last part there, too...or didn't care. She informed us that we could set up an appointment for a service tech to come to our home to diagnose the problem. Every time we told her we just needed the part, she informed us that they ONLY did service calls and she was overbooked anyway. My furnace has this wonderful diagnostic system where a light flashes to tell you what part is failing; this one was four flashes of the little red sensor light...we already had unhooked the two electrical connection prongs from the sensor and unscrewed the two screws that hold it in place; all we needed was the replacement part. I drove from Boonville (where the Dye store is 1/2 mile from my home) to Columbia (30 miles away) to another HVAC center, picked up the part for just over $15 including tax and, after arriving home, I turned off the power to the furnace, attached the electical hookup, inserted the sensor, screwed in two screws, turned on the power and was finished in about 2-3 minutes. So much for this company's minimum service call for EVERYTHING even if it is not wanted or needed and their employee's rude attitude that she wouldn't help us at all but might find SOME TIME somewhere for a service tech to come over. Shop locally? My furnace is nearng the end of it's life, that's why we are having to replace parts...these folks won't get that business. Just FYI, it is cold and snowy today but I am toasty warm so my furnace is making it for another winter :) Tracy Walkup Boonville, MO

Owner went through all of the projects wherein he spent 2 hrs. at my home, time that I respectfully set aside to meet with him out of my own business day as a business owner myself. He stated he understood the priorities & would get pricing and be back with me. TWO MONTHS passed & never heard back from him. Never called to follow up and/or fix toilet or bathroom sink. I had a toilet that is shot & not flushing as well as a bathroom faucet requiring cups underneath to catch the excessive dripping. He had no intention of doing the work, failed to exercise good business practices or communicate he was not going to do the work. This manner of doing business by these new places of simply "going rogue" after they waste your time, is inexcusable, disrespectful & a reflection of a lack of business ethics. This is not the way to treat customers. Funny that only after owner discovered this review (over 2 months later) did he contact me & wanted to make it right. Dummy me, I gave him another chance. He agreed to come & change the faucet & the toilet. When he came to do the faucet, it was my first experience to see his work. He destroyed the nickel flange on one of the inlets using brute force to get it off & then he totally scratched & stripped the outside of the other inlet (which now I have to look at every day). Then he yanked on both of inlets so much that by the next morning, I discovered water in the back corner of the kitchen pantry that had found a pathway down from the plumbing in the wall of the bathroom directly above...where he was yanking and pulling on the inlets because he couldn't get them loose. He lied about the water or the fact that his actions were the cause, although the water hasn't shown up since. He installed the new faucet incorrectly failing to put the screws in the new flange. When I noticed it, he said, "They just clip around the inlet. It won't come off." I replied, "Why would there be holes for screws like the inlet for the hot water right next to it that has screws in it?" There is a purpose for the holes to keep the flange from spinning. HE DIDN'T KNOW THIS!!! I requested that he "finish" the job properly. After he was done with the faucet, we settled up & I was attempting to lead him out the front door, but he refused to leave. He wouldn't budge until I said I would change the review. I was a hostage in my own home. I stated to him that he needed to leave & that it was my prerogative to change the review if & when I wanted to...if at all. This confirmed that the only reason he came back at all after two months of "going rouge" was that he thought he could simply show up, do one little job, promising he would do the rest of the work too just to get the review changed, & then he would never come back. As of the writing of this review I've experienced & witnessed his work ethic, quality of work, skillsets, knowledge of plumbing & integrity. And they are all POOR. But to stand inside my house, refusing to leave until I change a review is not only bordering on extortion. He didn't care about the quality of his work, he just wanted the review changed. I could have water dripping and causing damage as I type this and NOT KNOW IT due to what he did to my inlets that day. Who knows what damage he caused behind the wall with all of his twisting, turning & pulling with excessive force over & over again! What kind of plumber does this???? He has never come back, but note that we consulted on an appropriate toilet for the powder room after he was finished with the faucet & on his recommendation I ordered the one he said would work for that bathroom's configuration of the rough in & space. Toilet was delivered & it was to be installed this past Wed. He has not returned my calls, never showed. I had another plumber out to look at powder room & the toilet that Jimmie said would work will not fit at all. My inlet is coming out of the floor & this toilet requires the inlet to come from the wall due to the size & width of the apron. Now I have to return the toilet AND pay the return shipping. Thanks Jimmie! So don't use this guy. He has so much to learn about his trade, business practices & how to operate a business in an ethical manner. His motives are not honest & refusing to leave a customer's home unless they change a review on FB is borderline extortion. I would hate to see other folks be shafted by this guy & treated with such disrespect, shoddy service & workmanship.
