I was very…read moreclear from the start that the crown's fit, color, size, and position were critical, as I'd been struggling with chewing, talking, persistent facial pain, headaches, and even feeling the old crown pressing against my lip. I trusted Dr. Cohlmia to address these issues, but unfortunately, the experience was both disappointing and deeply upsetting. Dr. Cohlmia removed the old crown, rebuilt my tooth, and placed a permanent crown. While the temporary crown offered some relief, the permanent crown caused immediate problems. My headaches and facial pain returned, the crown was visibly whiter than my natural teeth, and it protruded against my lip. On top of that, it "clanged" against my bottom teeth while chewing and caused me to bite my tongue, leading to significant discomfort. I scheduled a follow-up appointment for an adjustment, and while it helped briefly, the same issues returned within days. When I called for a second adjustment, I had to follow up multiple times before I was seen. During this appointment, Dr. Cohlmia's demeanor had changed drastically. He appeared visibly annoyed, and his tone was dismissive and gruff. He argued with me, repeatedly saying, "I don't know what you're complaining about; the crown looks great." I tried to explain that the issue wasn't about how it looked but how it felt, as I was still in pain, unable to eat normally, and relying on Tylenol to get through the day. Rather than addressing my concerns, Dr. Cohlmia became increasingly hostile. He raised his voice, called my concerns "ridiculous," and sarcastically suggested refunding me, saying, "How about I refund the crown because nothing is wrong with it?" At this point, I felt trapped, embarrassed, and overwhelmed. Dr. Cohlmia was standing over me, visibly angry, and his dismissive attitude left me in tears. The patient rooms lack privacy, so this entire exchange could be overheard by others. When I agreed to the refund just to end the confrontation, he stormed out of the room yelling, "So ridiculous!" My embarrassment only grew when the front desk staff asked me to open my mouth and show my crown to them in front of other patients. To make matters worse, the office couldn't issue the refund that day and refused to provide written confirmation, simply stating I'd receive a check by mail within 30 days. The entire ordeal was humiliating and unprofessional. Dr. Cohlmia's care fell far below any reasonable standard. From dismissing my pain to his unprofessional and aggressive behavior, he showed a lack of compassion, understanding, and basic respect. I trusted him to help me with a difficult situation, but I left feeling worse physically and emotionally. If he wasn't capable of handling this case, he should have said so upfront instead of responding with hostility when the crown required multiple adjustments. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone seeking competent or compassionate dental care.

    Just don't go here, they're absolutely awful, I got a root canal and crown done here, and I've had…read moreto have the crown recemented 4-5 times since, when they left my insurance network they never informed me until I received a hefty bill, which eventually disappeared but ever since every time I come in for services my bill is always higher than originally quoted, or I pay and get a bill for $100+ more $$ in the mail a month or two later, I came in to get my crown fixed and informed them I was pregnant, they then scheduled me a cleaning appointment (knowing full well I was pregnant and had received clearance from my OB) they then told me when I came in for said cleaning they couldn't treat me because I was pregnant, and are now trying to charge me and my insurance $130 when they couldn't even treat anything! Absolutely awful business, constantly have more issues after a visit than I did before, and seriously? Why does it take 4+ times of giving me a "temporary solution" before you discuss permanent solutions with someone? I will say the ladies are kind, which was the only thing that kept encouraging me to go back, but when I'm told "they'll figure it out with my insurance" and then get over charged constantly even when I clarify that I need out the door prices to budget, that is a deal breaker for me especially when I'm in pain but too scared to go in out of fear of how much they're going to randomly charge me next!

As you sit in the cramped office space with an assorted toy chest covered in dirt that contains three heavily used well broken trucks, you'll find yourself greeted and told there's no need to sign in. A employee will come to the door and ask for your child to follow them alone so they can get x-rays taken. But the surprise here is they will not x-ray your child's mouth. They will quickly clean the teeth then ignore your purposeful visit. They even tried to separate a mother from her autistic son in hopes to not have any adults in their back room. This place is extremely gross and they do not do their job or listen to your wants/needs. You're better off handing a blind man, a chisel for your child's cavities, extractions or removals. If you have Medicare try calling Economy Dentistry for Children or even Smiling Kidds. I will not be bringing my child back to this cesspool.

They told me he was at the other location and had been for a number of weeks. Apparently the office I was sent to was unaware. Duh. The 7030 location was unappealing. That's why I dropped a star. The 7101 location is quite nice and welcoming. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I was referred by my Lake City dentist as my wife needed some specialized care. I chose this dentist because he is in my Delta Dental network. I drove from Dowling Park and it was well worth the trip. Our appointment was for 2PM and we were early. My wife's X-ray was not forwarded there because the first office I originally spoke with gave me the incorrect email address. Duh again. I called and had it re-sent. All is good. We waited till about 2:30 to get called which is normal for an afternoon appointment and another 20 minutes or so to be seen by Dr Olson. Prior to that we had a dental assistant who was very knowledgeable as well as friendly and came in and out a number of times. Dr Olson came in and right away I felt we had come to the right place. He was friendly and outgoing and quickly ascertained my wife's problems and solved the first one without difficulty and assured us he was confident we wouldn't have a reoccurrence. The second problem was a upper plate held in by four implants that was slipping out. The two front abutments were seriously worn and would need replacement. I need to research the manufacturer and size of the implants to get the correct parts. I never thought I should have written this information down when she first had the implants done maybe 20 years and three states ago. A word to the wise. Write it down! Seeing a Prosthodontist is like seeing any other specialist. The staff sets the patients up and the doctor goes from one to the next. After Dr Olson was sure he was finished with us and we were happy, he informed his assistant he was going on to the next patient and left her to finish the paper work. Though we live almost a 2 hour drive away we will return to have any other work done on her dentures as we are confident that we are getting quality as well as friendly care. I'll wait for my EOB from Delta Dental to comment on the billing departments charge for my co-payment.
