Found this place on a sunny afternoon drive looking for a little lunch. Conveniently located off of I-55, our little lunch was anything but. First off, this is a nice little place, with a good size menu of homemade offerings. Sizewise, its on the cosy, intimate side, not huge and warehouse like. The newest appetizer was Tater Kegs, tater tots the size of jumbo marshmallows with cheese, bacon and chives right in them. With the Hidden Valley ranch dressing,.....amazing! Our "little lunch" consisted of a sausage and beef sandwich with cheese and peppers for my husband that could easily feed two people, if you add an appetizer, maybe even three! My personal pizza was advertised as 5 inches, but I swear it had to be bigger, because I just barely finished it. The homemade crust was firm and crisp, and the slightly burnt edges gave the pizza a nice extra flavor. Rounded it off with nice, cold beverages and this was a meal that will see us having a late and much lighter supper. We will definitely be back! read more

Ate here late yesterday and as always, glad I did! Little hidden secret off I-55 between Joliet and Bloomington. I first ate here about 7 years ago and it is my go to spot when driving from the Chicago area to Bloomington. The only menu item I've had is the pizza which is so good I simply haven't had an urge to try anything else. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. One of the better pizza places in the area. Staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean inside. Wait one can be a bit rough sometimes but generally speaking it is reasonable except when it's really busy. If you're in the area it's definitely worth checking out! read more

Stopped into Dwight pizza while traveling home from Michigan. We ordered the deluxe pizza and two side salads. It had lots of toppings and cheese with a nice crispy crust. While eating out salads, the owner brought out a sampling of their Italian beef. It was so good, that we ordered 5 lbs to go! Very friendly owner. We will stop in again! read more

Dwight pizza is great. It's good old fashioned super cheesy and greasy delicious pizza. My husband and I have pizza every Friday. We live in the Chicago area but are from St. Louis. When we leave to go south after work on Fridays we wait til we get out of chicago craziness and stop at dwight pizza. They are fast reasonably priced and tasty. This is what comfort food is all about. I tried italian beef sandwich for first time in chicago (portillos) and was craving it. Reviews were good so I stopped by and ordered for hubby and I. OMG it was sooooo good!! Mozzarella cheese on it took it to a whole new level. Meat and cheese portion was very generous. Devoured the whole thing before I thought of taking a pic. My boyfriend Terry and I live in the middle of absolutely nowhere and Dwight Pizza is the only place that will deliver to us. We order quite often. The pizza is fantastic with so much cheese and that great crispy crust that everyone is after! Their sides and sandwiches can't be beat! Their Italian beef is the best I've ever had. We both enjoy that one immensely! So much beef and cheese and it comes with 2 different kinds of peppers and juice to dip it in. Don't let a small town establishment fool you. I've eaten here at least 5 times and have yet to be disappointed myself. The portobello beef, chicken bacon ranch, chicken and garlic calzone are all I've eaten here so far and they were all great! Stopped here on our way home from a very long weekend in Chicago. One of my husband's co-workers recommended it as we were leaving a work event. The owner greeted us as we came in and asked where we were from. When we mentioned our hometown he pointed out another couple also from our hometown, also headed home from Chicago. Of course my husband (Marc) being the type of person who is NEVER a stranger to anyone goes over to their table, introduces himself and asks what they are having (a beef and sausage sandwich with cheese and peppers). We changed our minds from a pizza and decided to both order the beef and sausage sandwich. It was amazing. Marc got it with the spicy peppers on it and I got it with the mild peppers on the side. Next time, I would put the peppers on the sandwich . We also ordered fries and probably wouldn't get those again. You really don't need them with the size of the sandwiches and we didn't eat them all. We will make this a place to stop in the future when we travel between Chicago and Central Illinois. Next time, we may try the pizza...or just enjoy that amazing sandwich again. read more

Dwight is my home town and this pizza place was around when I was growing up and then the owner moved away and he's been back for several years now with the same great pizza!!!! The thin crust pizza is so good. The sauce is what makes it!!! Anytime I'm visiting my mom I try to get this pizza. Ingredients are fresh and it is a perfect mix of gooey cheese and sausage. We ordered three thin crust pizzas and a salad last weekend for a meeting and had it delivered. The pizzas were delicious, cheesy with tasty toppings. John made a salad for 10, rather than 10 dinner salads and the lettuce was fresh and crispy, and filled with black olives, tomatoes, croutons and cheese. As selection of dressings topped it off. Took a long time to get my order and I dident like the idea that the cook was wearing a muscle shirt.

I am a truck driver and I normally resort to fast food or whatever garbage I can find inside a truck stop. As I pulled off the interstate to sit at the Loves all weekend I saw a sign that said pizza/ Chinese with no curb appeal ( at least from the angle I saw it) . So I chalked it up to being just like anyone of the other thousands of restaurants across America with sub par food that will inevitably close it's doors after a few months due to lack of business. I am very passionate about food, but customer service is also a huge plus. I started researching the place out of sheer curiosity and read some promising reviews to my surprise. When I called the owner/ employee/ manager was very polite and helpful unlike most people who take your order through a phone. After some small chit chat about debit cards and if he would deliver right across the street, I asked what he would suggest. He then asks me where I'm from, to which I replied New Orleans. He then goes on directing me to a very delicious pizza which I'm currently enjoying! The pizza is great but what really sold me was the outstanding customer service. Even the delivery driver was real polite and professional. I will order from Dwight whenever I am enroute back to Chicago and have a chance to stop. On a side not the guy asked me if I have a tv in my truck, to which I replied I have DVDs and a laptop he offered to bring me over there so I can watch the games on the big screen. MITerrible greasy food dirt and who knows what else was in the ice. Had to dump and refill cup couple times with ice and still had to pick stuff out. Imagine what was in the fountain drink lines.... bad time management with call in orders takes an hour to get an order of frozen prepackaged mini tacos delivered. Not to metion their "famous taco salad/pizza" is made with CANNED taco beef from GFS or some similar store. Explains why it taste so nasty. read more

I grew up in Aurora IL eating only louigis pizza and Italian beefs moved to Dwight and could not find it anywhere until Dwight pizza they actually top louigis pizza and beefs and the owner John actually makes my beefs special order sexy beef like when I grew up . Beef with pizza sauce Gardiena mozzarella chose baked oven he's been making them for me and my sons since he opened the resteraunt my son's named them sexy beefs try one tell them Sosa recommended it and the ultimate pizza to die for I highly recommend this restaurant enjoy! read more

I was recently visiting the area and decided to order from Dwight Pizza. First off the prices on line ($14.00 for a large) are not correct . I called to order two large pizzas- the total bill was 44.00. When I said that does not match what you have on line (taking into consideration delivery charge) they argued and I decided I wanted to cancel the order. The owner got on the phone and said " What can you afford, I will give you the moochers special". Now I am not poor and could totally afford that pizza but did not think it was fair that they trick people into thinking it is one price and then bam its 10-15 more... I was really put out by his attitude but kept my cool and said no thank you, I just want to cancel my order. He then said " Don't you ever f**%ing call here again. At that point I hung up. I think this man is scary and I would not give him my business again. I also informed everyone I knew. I guess his business is not that good (no wonder) and he was totally upset that he lost a sale. Be safe and go to Gio's Pizza in Dwight, it is really good, they are honest and do not have a temper problem. read more
