Dutchess Recreational Vehicles - Motorcycle Dealers Near Me - Poughkeepsie, New York

Reading through the reviews I see a lot of negativity. I setup an appointment and had 80% of my paperwork done before I arrived and my machine was prepped. I would say just because you walk in with cash doesn't mean everyone is going to drop what they're doing, it was apparent this is a high volume dealership. My salesman Scott was punctual and helpful, Barb in finance was swamped and maintained her professionalism with two finance managers out, the owner Don was polite and I asked for water brought me into the back break room and provided water. With buying a new machine I needed some new gear, I didn't catch the parts guys name but super nice and got all the boxes together for me. read more

Bought 2 bikes there - pleased with both purchases, but I got treated like a dick from one of the sales team, I forget name hes insignificant to me. Please do yourself a favor and ask for KAYLA. She is direct, knowledgeable, and honest. She treated me so well my buddy kiterally went back less than a month later and bought a new quad. The dick lost about 25 G's in sales from his shit attitude. Was happy to and will continue to give Kayla my business. If she ever switches dealerships I will be switching right with her! PS - would be a 5 star review if I hadnt gotten treated like a leper from the get go read more

Dutchess Recreational Vehicles - KTM - purchased from Kayla - Motorcycle Dealers Near Me - Poughkeepsie, New York

Bought and traded several atv's sxs and motorcycles from them. A++ in my book. They are friendly, knowledgeable and stand behind their products. Would never go to another dealer. Morgan is an amazing sales person. They get ALL my business. read more

I agree with Barbara L. and Mike S' reviews, as I recently had a similar experience. Went there with cash, in the hopes of purchasing a Honda Navi and was completely ignored by staff, then got attitude after asking a question. Took my business elsewhere. read more

I would skip this place , no sales people, and when you ask a question, the one guy on the sales floor has a chip on his shoulder , his desk is on the left as soon as you come in . And he even disappeared. I'll take my business to motorcycle mall in New Jersey and deal with Tom. He's amazing. If I could give zero stars I would I will never set foot in the trash dealer . read more

I'm sure they do a ton of business here but would do more if they had any personality. They need guys that want to sell product. Everyone working here has zero personality and offers very little assistance. They gotta get it together. read more

I've been buying multiple motorcycles at the top line level for the past 20 years with a total of eight motorcycles, including 5 Yamaha R1's and 3 Honda CBR, 1000s. I also traded in some motorcycles, and was treated very fairly. Every single purchase was flawless. I was able also to order special models and they patiently took care of all my needs going way beyond normal service and support requirements. In particular the owner and everyone on the staff has been very helpful and caring. They always call me back and give me quick feedback and support. Special mention goes to Mike Gleason who has been taking care of me in the last purchases. Jeff, the owner is being always there to take care of the financing and other requirements. The office staff is also very helpful with the registrations and other service aspects. Finally they have a very good spare parts department which I find helpful when I needed some parts. I purchased motorcycles from various dealers, including dealers in New York for Honda , Yamaha and Ducati, as well as in California. These guys have been always the most organized and caring based on my experience compared to all the other dealers. read more

Spoke to both Morgan and Barb in the process of trading my old bike in for a different model. Both were extremely helpful and attentive. Kept me in the loop throughout the whole process and did the same when I arrived to trade in and ride my new bike home. Overall was a super smooth transaction and the employees at DUTCHESS were very helpful and kind. read more

I'd skip this place if I were you. Their website stated that they had certain motorcycles on display that my husband wanted so we took a ride to check them out. What a disappointment. None of the motorcycles he wanted were on display, they only had about 2 dozen bikes in their showroom. We couldn't seem to get anyone's attention. read more

Mike was awesome he work with me on purchase of my first Quad. I had ridden dirty bikes and street bikes for years. So the Quads is a new territory for me. I knew I wanted to CanAm after doing my research and speaking to friends who own them. Mike help me pick out the machine that work best for me. Thank you for the excellent service and look forward to seeing you for my first service. read more

Brought my Can-Am Spyder for service & safety check found two things that I didn't find they show them to me it was true. Guys in the service department of great the actually come out and speak to you and show you exactly what they're talkin about. Disregard some of the other previous reviews could be a bunch of disgruntled people but I didn't find it to be true ,very pleasant place ,honest and guaranteed their work keep up the good work guys.. read more

I was shopping around for a new KTM 790 Adventure and checked a handful of local dealers. I read previous reviews and approached with caution. I must say I'm glad the bad reviews didn't stop me from giving DRV a shot! They were extremely busy as the season gets, yet Mike and Jeff were helpful and willing to work with me on price for not only may new bike, but a few accessories and gear too! I may not have gotten the deal of the century but I left satisfied. I will update my review as my experience with them continues. I still have some accessories on order and I plan on bringing in my new bike for its break in service. I highly recommend these guys in the sales department and look forward to a continued relationship with DRV. read more

Went in for a new (to me) bike check-up, plus oil/filter change. Even though I made an appointment it is still a drop-off and takes all day. Next ride I discovered that the coolant cap was left off and Dutchess Rec didn't fill up the oil. Oil light came on and, no, there's no leak. They didn't do it properly. What the hell? Work is so sloppy. Now I question the rest of the work they did for the tune-up, which cost me $150. I would go somewhere else or do oil changes yourself. Dutchess Rec sucks! read more

I've been coming here since I was a little kid - Dutchess Rec [endearingly referred to as dutchess Wreck] is a good company and they do a thorough and good job overall although they are quite lazy and pricey - they get away with it because they have a monopoly on parts and service in dutchess county - the kids that work here can be spoiled rotten millennial pricks, but don't let my generation's failings reflect too poorly on this otherwise decent company -~~__ PeAcE __~~- read more

I needed some work done on my motorcycle and figured I'd give them a try. Everything was done very quickly and I haven't had any issues at all. Would highly recommend them to others! read more

Our sales person was wonderful. The rest was very unprofessional and awful service. Drove 5 hours to pick up our new SXS we live in PA, to which no one specified where we were to park. Arrived early and parked in lot employees proceeded to arrive for work and park us in without asking us to move or saying a word to us sitting in truck as they are parking us in. Go inside once they open and then they ask us to move. Finally, they ask if they can help us we told them we were there to pick up our new machine. As we were signing paperwork on a tablet my husband questioned why signing a regular PA license plate instead of a state land license plate application then said it was a formality. Fast forward a few weeks later and the incorrect plate arrives and the night mare begins. 2 months of getting the run around and between the office staff at dutchess and the notary Platman blaming each other. I finally got a number for a person in PA they dealt with and finally got the answers and the issue corrected within a weeks time. I will not ever recommend or go back to this place. All they do is blame others for the mistake they clearly made and were of no help to get this corrected and lie constantly to make thereselves look and feel better. read more

I cant believe they get away with these outrageous prices. The guys at the parts desk in the display room are really cool but the guys running the service desk in the very back where the shop is are extremely rude. Their "know it all" attitude is a huge turn off. Cant see how people spend money here. read more

Another shot story for this waste of a business my buddy called for a battery told them he'd be there in 3 hours my buddy drove there (he lives a hour away) they say to him oh we didn't charge it can u give us a few hours lol such a shot business he drove a hour to get there for absolutely nothing he then goes back a week later for the battery he gets it home and it dies after a few cranks LMFAOOO they are winners for sure at that place I'll forever boycott them and have people boycott them read more

They are basically the only show in town and they know it. I was trying to negotiate with my salesman, they didn't move a cent. At one point, he told me to come in and we would figure something out. So I came in a his big move was to pull out his wallet and say just take it... go spend it all. Obnoxious. So the sales manager is right next to this clown and I say to him that this could be my fourth motorcycle bought from them and I would like a better price than anyone else off the street. Batter up for his obnoxious reply of, "I've been shopping at the same grocery store for twenty years and I still haven't gotten a discount." I'm embarrassed to say I still got the bike from them (see first sentence). However I will not do anymore business there. I even took my bike elsewhere for the first service even though DRV gives 30% off. Their service department is a mess too. I had the same problem with not getting updates as another yelper. If you can, try Moroney's or Big boys toys. read more

Wow, just came across this thread, I agree with the last guy regarding service. I was on a bike trip and needed a battery for my ST1300. Boy what a screwing I got from the service department. Go ANYWHERE else ! Read the reviews - Rude and Obnoxious !!!! Bought two wave runners and a trailer last summer. It was almost as if we were annoying them. Called on a Saturday and drove out with them on Wednesday. Service dept rude when we had an issue with the wave runners in Tennessee - (took them on vacation) Again annoying them. We get a call - today - a year later after they read our reviews !!!!!!! Really !!!! What does that tell you ! read more

The worst. Wow stay away from them. ‍ Place is overpriced. They will rip you off. I brought my machine in to be serviced. It came back and died 5 minutes after using it. I would never bring anything to be repaired here again. read more

Dutchess Rec is the SHITTEST place to buy ANYTHING from. If you even think about buying a bike from them do NOT do it. They have had my boyfriend's bike for OVER a month, when you call to ask about anything everyone is beyond nasty and always has a different excuse as to why nothing is done. No one gives you straight answers, it's beyond ridiculous. Their customer service is beyond shitty and everyone who works there is completely incompetent. It's mind boggling. They make you pay all this money, but will take their sweet ass time working on their customers things. I've never seen anything like it in my life. With every bone in my body, I'm telling you all to stay FAR away from dutchess rec. read more

Bought a 2020 KTM RC 390 through them, had 0 issues with the bike itself, so good job KTM. When bringing it in for mods and or services they overcharged like crazy, and when I got my bike back from getting the oil change it wouldn't rev past 2000 RPM without stalling until it heated up. DO NOT trust this place. Also said they would pick my bike up to get it repaired after an accident, never called or anything and they just never showed. Only reason I figured out why they never showed up was because I had to call 3-4 times until someone answered read more

They are a complete scam and fraud! If they told you they needed your UTV for a "system update" you more than likely did not buy a new vehicle but a used demo vehicle. They make it sound nice to pick up your machine, drop it off, 50% off a first service meanwhile they need the mileage off of it so they can get a kickback for seeling a demo vehicle. When trying to get answers from the owner he proceeded to mock and scream at me over the phone. I have recording and paperwork. Its absolutely disgusting they are still in business! read more

The two owners are scam artists! Selling demo and used items for full price, then offering free "system updates" with free pick up and delivery so they can pull the file off with the mileage to send to Can -Am for a kick back/discounts. What concerns me more is the way the owner spoke (yelled) at my wife because he can't answer questions and have a civil conversation. You sound like a real wife beater speaking to women like that. read more

I was pleased with the team and have had multiple transactions here. The sales team is passionate about the recreational vehicles. Thanks!

Big shout out to everyone working at this dealer .. Mike , Jeff and Morgan ! You guys are Great . Had a great experience being a first time buyer of a Kawasaki Ninja 400. If I could give less than a 1 star I would. This company is pathetic and does not follow through on their word. Do not trust with any machine or product read more

Want to choose zero. This review is for the service department. My warranted vehicle broke down and I scheduled service with them. They said it would be three weeks for an appointment. But what they didn't say was the "appointment " was to continue to wait and save my place in the cue. ( in other words, they were 4 weeks out for service). If they told me 4 weeks at the start, fine, but this ridiculous idea of an appointment to hold my place in line is mind boggling. From the day of my "appointment " it took them 10 days to file a claim with BRP for the warrantee. I found out from BRP that this dealer was given permission to fix my vehicle but the service department is claiming they need more info. I'm thinking they don't know how to fix it. In conclusion, my vehicle broke down more than 5 weeks ago and they still haven't fixed it. Also, they hardly answer the phone and you have to text them to communicate. I never know who I'm "texting " and they don't communicate with each other. I have a call into BRP. If nothing is resolved this week, I'm going to get it and tow it to another dealer. read more

This place is a nightmare don't ever buy anything from them, I recently bought a Cbr from them they told me to come down to get it, when I arrived it wasn't ready had to have it delivered, the next issue was the side plastics continuously falling off the bike and on top of all that they sent the title and registration to the wrong address and now I have to go to dmv to file for a new title, this place is a joke read more

The worst service I have ever had to deal with. The service manager was very unprofessional. Claim things to be wrong with my bike that wasn't, kept my bike for 4 weeks never called, I had to call to find out information on the bike. I would not recommend anyone go there. When I finally picked up the bike, I found out that the left a plug off the bike which spilled oil on the bike make it smoke. If the oil would have gotten on my tire I could have had an accident. Never ever going there again worst services ever. If I could I would give them a negative rating. The service manager name is jeff very unprofessional. read more

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT go here for anything!! Their customer service is a nightmare, complete with attitudes, misinformation and mocking of customers. I'm truly shocked they are still in business! They really shouldn't be, and the owners should be ashamed at who they have hired to conduct their daily operations. My father and husband went in recently to look for a new riding jacket for my husband and my father wanted to look at bikes, the staff was absurdly rude!! They mocked my 70 year old father when they asked how old his bike was and he said a 94, when he asked for information and couldn't hear them, they mocked him further speaking in nasty tones and getting a good laugh, when they saw he was a VETRAN they continued their childish antics. My husband finally interceded and they shut up for a few moments, but when my husband asked if they had a style of jacket in the backstock he was told " NO!! What we have is on the floor" which one of my friends does a service for them so I know they have TONS of stuff in the back. This store is a joke, and a stain on Dutchess county. Try hiring people that actually like their jobs, and should be working with the public, not the obvious pre-schoolers you have now. THIS GETS NO STARS! Only reason there is one is for posting purposes. read more

I'm not one to write bad reviews but I have no choice in the matter, absolute nightmare dealing with the incompetence of this place. Purchased a new bike last month and I shoulda realized what I was in store for when the front fender fell off a mile down the road. Anyways that's just the beginning, I made it VERY CLEAR to them to use my P.O. box for everything but they needed my physical address for the loan. I don't have a mailbox anything that would get sent there is returned to sender. So after not getting my registration or first loan bill I called them and found out they used my physical ugh!!! They basically told me I was on my own and to call bank and go to dmv and what not. So I was riding around with no registration sticker on my bike until yesterday. I had to take a day off yesterday and go to dmv and sort all this bullshit out and paid out of pocket for a new title and registration. I still haven't even dealt with the bank that will be today's task. Anyway you couldn't pay me to deal with these morons ever again. Sorry for the bad review but you guys earned it! read more
