Reading through the reviews I see a lot of negativity. I setup an appointment and had 80% of my paperwork done before I arrived and my machine was prepped. I would say just because you walk in with cash doesn't mean everyone is going to drop what they're doing, it was apparent this is a high volume dealership. My salesman Scott was punctual and helpful, Barb in finance was swamped and maintained her professionalism with two finance managers out, the owner Don was polite and I asked for water brought me into the back break room and provided water. With buying a new machine I needed some new gear, I didn't catch the parts guys name but super nice and got all the boxes together for me. read more

I've been buying multiple motorcycles at the top line level for the past 20 years with a total of eight motorcycles, including 5 Yamaha R1's and 3 Honda CBR, 1000s. I also traded in some motorcycles, and was treated very fairly. Every single purchase was flawless. I was able also to order special models and they patiently took care of all my needs going way beyond normal service and support requirements. In particular the owner and everyone on the staff has been very helpful and caring. They always call me back and give me quick feedback and support. Special mention goes to Mike Gleason who has been taking care of me in the last purchases. Jeff, the owner is being always there to take care of the financing and other requirements. The office staff is also very helpful with the registrations and other service aspects. Finally they have a very good spare parts department which I find helpful when I needed some parts. I purchased motorcycles from various dealers, including dealers in New York for Honda , Yamaha and Ducati, as well as in California. Guys in the service department of great the actually come out and speak to you and show you exactly what they're talkin about. I was shopping around for a new KTM 790 Adventure and checked a handful of local dealers. I read previous reviews and approached with caution. I must say I'm glad the bad reviews didn't stop me from giving DRV a shot! They were extremely busy as the season gets, yet Mike and Jeff were helpful and willing to work with me on price for not only may new bike, but a few accessories and gear too! I may not have gotten the deal of the century but I left satisfied. I will update my review as my experience with them continues. I still have some accessories on order and I plan on bringing in my new bike for its break in service. Went in for a new (to me) bike check-up, plus oil/filter change. Even though I made an appointment it is still a drop-off and takes all day. Next ride I discovered that the coolant cap was left off and Dutchess Rec didn't fill up the oil. Oil light came on and, no, there's no leak. They didn't do it properly. What the hell? Work is so sloppy. Now I question the rest of the work they did for the tune-up, which cost me $150. I would go somewhere else or do oil changes yourself. Dutchess Rec sucks! read more

Our sales person was wonderful. The rest was very unprofessional and awful service. Drove 5 hours to pick up our new SXS we live in PA, to which no one specified where we were to park. Arrived early and parked in lot employees proceeded to arrive for work and park us in without asking us to move or saying a word to us sitting in truck as they are parking us in. Go inside once they open and then they ask us to move. Finally, they ask if they can help us we told them we were there to pick up our new machine. As we were signing paperwork on a tablet my husband questioned why signing a regular PA license plate instead of a state land license plate application then said it was a formality. Fast forward a few weeks later and the incorrect plate arrives and the night mare begins. 2 months of getting the run around and between the office staff at dutchess and the notary Platman blaming each other. I finally got a number for a person in PA they dealt with and finally got the answers and the issue corrected within a weeks time. I will not ever recommend or go back to this place. All they do is blame others for the mistake they clearly made and were of no help to get this corrected and lie constantly to make thereselves look and feel better. read more

Another shot story for this waste of a business my buddy called for a battery told them he'd be there in 3 hours my buddy drove there (he lives a hour away) they say to him oh we didn't charge it can u give us a few hours lol such a shot business he drove a hour to get there for absolutely nothing he then goes back a week later for the battery he gets it home and it dies after a few cranks LMFAOOO they are winners for sure at that place I'll forever boycott them and have people boycott them read more

The guys at the parts desk in the display room are really cool but the guys running the service desk in the very back where the shop is are extremely rude. They are basically the only show in town and they know it. I was trying to negotiate with my salesman, they didn't move a cent. At one point, he told me to come in and we would figure something out. So I came in a his big move was to pull out his wallet and say just take it... go spend it all. Obnoxious. So the sales manager is right next to this clown and I say to him that this could be my fourth motorcycle bought from them and I would like a better price than anyone else off the street. Batter up for his obnoxious reply of, "I've been shopping at the same grocery store for twenty years and I still haven't gotten a discount." I'm embarrassed to say I still got the bike from them (see first sentence). However I will not do anymore business there. I even took my bike elsewhere for the first service even though DRV gives 30% off. Their service department is a mess too. I had the same problem with not getting updates as another yelper. I bought my first 2000; Goldwing SE here and they were very professional and courteous. I've been shopping here for parts and service and I've always been treated well. Steve in the parts department is fantastic as well as the other crew. I had my motorcycle serviced there and I've always had a good experience.I've always discovered that people will treat you the way you treat them. I've always been respectful and the crew there have always treated me respectfully. I've read negative reviews about this place but I've never experienced it personally. Bought a 2020 KTM RC 390 through them, had 0 issues with the bike itself, so good job KTM. When bringing it in for mods and or services they overcharged like crazy, and when I got my bike back from getting the oil change it wouldn't rev past 2000 RPM without stalling until it heated up. DO NOT trust this place. Also said they would pick my bike up to get it repaired after an accident, never called or anything and they just never showed. They have had my boyfriend's bike for OVER a month, when you call to ask about anything everyone is beyond nasty and always has a different excuse as to why nothing is done. They are a complete scam and fraud! If they told you they needed your UTV for a "system update" you more than likely did not buy a new vehicle but a used demo vehicle. They make it sound nice to pick up your machine, drop it off, 50% off a first service meanwhile they need the mileage off of it so they can get a kickback for seeling a demo vehicle. Selling demo and used items for full price, then offering free "system updates" with free pick up and delivery so they can pull the file off with the mileage to send to Can -Am for a kick back/discounts. What concerns me more is the way the owner spoke (yelled) at my wife because he can't answer questions and have a civil conversation. Want to choose zero. This review is for the service department. My warranted vehicle broke down and I scheduled service with them. They said it would be three weeks for an appointment. But what they didn't say was the "appointment " was to continue to wait and save my place in the cue. ( in other words, they were 4 weeks out for service). If they told me 4 weeks at the start, fine, but this ridiculous idea of an appointment to hold my place in line is mind boggling. From the day of my "appointment " it took them 10 days to file a claim with BRP for the warrantee. I found out from BRP that this dealer was given permission to fix my vehicle but the service department is claiming they need more info. I'm thinking they don't know how to fix it. In conclusion, my vehicle broke down more than 5 weeks ago and they still haven't fixed it. Also, they hardly answer the phone and you have to text them to communicate. I never know who I'm "texting " and they don't communicate with each other. I have a call into BRP. If nothing is resolved this week, I'm going to get it and tow it to another dealer. read more

The worst service I have ever had to deal with. The service manager was very unprofessional. Claim things to be wrong with my bike that wasn't, kept my bike for 4 weeks never called, I had to call to find out information on the bike. I would not recommend anyone go there. When I finally picked up the bike, I found out that the left a plug off the bike which spilled oil on the bike make it smoke. If the oil would have gotten on my tire I could have had an accident. They really shouldn't be, and the owners should be ashamed at who they have hired to conduct their daily operations. My father and husband went in recently to look for a new riding jacket for my husband and my father wanted to look at bikes, the staff was absurdly rude!! They mocked my 70 year old father when they asked how old his bike was and he said a 94, when he asked for information and couldn't hear them, they mocked him further speaking in nasty tones and getting a good laugh, when they saw he was a VETRAN they continued their childish antics. My husband finally interceded and they shut up for a few moments, but when my husband asked if they had a style of jacket in the backstock he was told " NO!! What we have is on the floor" which one of my friends does a service for them so I know they have TONS of stuff in the back. This store is a joke, and a stain on Dutchess county. Try hiring people that actually like their jobs, and should be working with the public, not the obvious pre-schoolers you have now. THIS GETS NO STARS! Walked in on 09-09-2011 with a Kawasaki prairie 360 they could not use as a trade in. I left $100 deposit on a new camo 360. As it turned out I had my 360 fixed up by my local dealership and it ran great so I requested refund of my $100 and they stated to me I had abandoned my money after 2mos and 2 weeks. I called and requested the refund on 11-21-11. ....STAY AWAY from these scammsters. Owner is offering a $100 gift certificate but I live over one hour away. read more

Purchased a new bike last month and I shoulda realized what I was in store for when the front fender fell off a mile down the road. Anyways that's just the beginning, I made it VERY CLEAR to them to use my P.O. box for everything but they needed my physical address for the loan. I don't have a mailbox anything that would get sent there is returned to sender. So after not getting my registration or first loan bill I called them and found out they used my physical ugh!!! They basically told me I was on my own and to call bank and go to dmv and what not. So I was riding around with no registration sticker on my bike until yesterday. I had to take a day off yesterday and go to dmv and sort all this bullshit out and paid out of pocket for a new title and registration. I still haven't even dealt with the bank that will be today's task. Anyway you couldn't pay me to deal with these morons ever again. Sorry for the bad review but you guys earned it! read more

I made a yelp account just to give this place a review. First time I've ever written a complaint to any store. My experience started with a sales associate who was very nice. I am in retail and know how important good customer service is. I ended up spending $13,000 on a brand new motorcycle. They told me it would be ready by 11:00AM the following morning. I showed up and waited until 2:00PM until I was able to take the bike home. I dropped off my other motorcycle for a head gasket leak repair. The service manager(Jeff) called me a few days later and said that two bolts were stuck and they were going to have to remove them. I asked how much it would cost and he told me "$50-80 in labor" so I told him to do it. I called them weekly to check in on the bike's status and they kept saying they were waiting on two bolts. After 30 days of being in their shop, I finally got called and they told me it was finished. But they charged me $490 for a head gasket repair. They never even got the actual bolts in. They used some bolts they had in their shop. (I could have ordered the bolts from bike bandit and had them in 5 days) Their service manager kept telling me he would keep me updated and he never did. Then they surprised me with a huge bill for a cheap gasket and a few dollars in bolts.$456 in labor which was WAY over his estimate. Will never go back and would never recommend this place to anyone. Service department is awful. read more
