There is plenty of parking spots and good to see no non sense going on in the parking lot. We have been to a few skate parks where there were shenanigans going on in the parking lot. We stopped because I used to skate and it cool to watch the different levels of skaters having a great time. I'm 56 now and no more skating, I do have a super cool RC truck that I normally bring to the parks, I didn't have it with me on this trip. It was good to see skateboarders , bike riders and scooter riders all having a good time together. Sometimes the younger scooter riders get a hard time from the older kids. We sat in the shade for about an hour and watched tricks being practiced and tricks being pulled off, it brought back a lot of great memories. It was a surprise to see that not everyone had a helmet on, I know it saved my head more than a few times. Side note, just as we were leaving the police pulled up in the parking lot just to do a walk around. There are many different paths to walk and always lots of people and dogs. They also have event spaces and sports areas. The bridge over the river is nice to stand on and watch the water. Just don't let your dogs off leash as I read about someone losing their dog in the current. There are a few places to access the water and it is too strong for anyone. There are some nice paths over some ponds where you can see all types of ducks, geese and turtles at times. Plenty of free parking and close to town.

13 of us did the Thrill Seeker outing, so rafting in the morning, lunch and kayaking in the…read moreafternoon. This is not a trip for the faint of heart, these are real rapids. That said, I am 72 years old and made it through reasonably unscathed. The rafting trip is pretty easy, though you are expected to paddle. When going through the rapids you have to listen for his commands to bring your paddle in and grab onto the handle for dear life. Careful of sunburn - if you don't slather on the sunscreen you'll get fried. The kayaking is a little more challenging. I almost fell out of the kayak twice, but was able to self-right with my paddle. The youngest in our group was 15 years old, and all the younger kids I saw on the trip handled it with no issues. The kayaks are inflatable with no real keel so they are a bit challenging to steer, so make sure you are up for the challenge before committing. I had a blast and would do it again in a heartbeat!!
