I have been shooting since about age nine, trained by a Great Uncle who grew up in the Old West, with the attendant experiences (e.g., at about the same age, as a lark, found a known gun-fighter's two pistols laying on the seat of an early car (circa 1909) while said gunfighter was in a bar, took pistols out shot all rounds into the air replaced pistols and ran like Hell. Amazing company with outstanding staff and instructors that take pride in what they do. Very professional. They offer a variety of courses ranging from beginner all the way up to specialized training for military and law enforcement teams in a number of weapon systems. I took the intermediate carbine course offered by them and was blown away. The depth of knowledge and detail made it one of the best trainings I've attended so far. They watch you and and give great feedback on what your doing well and what you can improve on. They make it interactive and encourage discussion among the students and instructors. It was also physically demanding so keep that in mind if you decide to attend. If your in good health and decent shape you'll do fine. All in all absolutely worth it. I am a retired 60+ year old woman and held a fear of guns. Looking at the world situation around me, I felt it was time to arm and educate myself. First problem, I needed a gun. I took the basic pistol class at Rogue Protection Group to get familiar with my new pistol and to be able to get my concealed carry permit. The owners are incredibly nice, and I felt comfortable as soon as I walked in the door. The classroom portion was very well done, casual but informative, with the instructor being sure to explain the WHY of things and not just "teaching the test" if you will. The range portion was equally excellent, I was definitely confident that I could handle the basics when we finished, I even hit exactly where I was aiming a few times! Oh, and once you take the class, RPG lets you know you're welcome to sit on in the same class for free if you need a refresher. I was really only planning on taking this one class, but I've already requested information on the next class up so that I can get my spot saved. read more

I have attended numerous shooting courses, both private and government sponsored in my 8 years (and counting) of military service. From my arrival at the first class the I attended with RPG I was met with unrivaled professionalism, proficiency and modesty. Seeing as how I am of Military background I was allowed to attend the intermediate carbine course. I had an awesome experience. It was a small class, we started off comparing notes so we could all be on the same page. Rolled straight into a review and warm up, the whipped off the kids gloves and started rolling. I took RPG's basic carbine class and it was great. Even though I have a military background and have had my share of time with an M16 I'm extremely glad I did it. All the instructors were open-minded, professional and good down to earth people. I will absolutely be taking this class again as well as probably all of the other classes they offer. If you are looking for self defense training I can say from experience that RPG can oblige on multiple levels. Their combined experience with firearms defense, tactics, and training are amazing and most of all, they are meant for real situations. Along with having excellent firearms training they also offer medical and martial arts training. I attended their Women's Self Defense class with zero knowledge of how to protect myself. I am now able to get out of being duct taped, zip-tied and defend myself from a grown man with the proper moves that were taught during this course.
