I like this garden center! They have a wide variety of indoor and outdoor plants including some rare or unusual species. They really do have pretty much all your gardening needs covered, including pots, soil, fertilizer, landscaping supplies, etc. I especially like visiting at spring planting time. They have three widest range of varieties of tomatoes, peppers, both sold individually or in marketpacks of four. The same is true for their flowers...shade loving and sunloving perennials too. It's not a huge place but it packs in a lot! It's my favorite garden place to visit in the area. read more

One of the larger plant nurseries in the area and they have a wide variety here. The prices are either average or above average, but the thing is that they do carry a variety so if you are in need of something in particular they may have it. They even have a "rare" section that's locked up. The place is quite peaceful too with a pond in the middle and parking is always so plentiful. The one thing I love about this place is that it is right off the highway and next to a Chipotle and near the H mart. Lots of things nearby to get your errands done quickly. read more

If you're in Fredrick and need plants, go here. It's a large store with all types of plants, flowers, herbs, and more. The rows are organized well and there's even a section for rare plants. To my daughter's delight, they have a goldfish pond and birds. They also have a "husband hangout" area, restrooms, and a store with garden trinkets. read more

I visited the Dutch Plant Farm last summer to pick up a few potted plants for indoor and outdoors. They had a large selection of plants and flowers that it was neat. There's an indoor pond with lots of gold fishes and even a live parrot in a large cave. During the summer it's very warm but it's to keep the flowers and plants at a certain temperature. Lots of selection of gardening tools and decorative pots and gardening accessories. I would drive by this plant farm all the time but never thought to stop by but I'm so glad I did. It's one of the best plant farm in the local area and would highly recommend visiting for the gardening enthusiast. read more

Huge selection! They can be a little pricey but they also will not sell you plants with known diseases like other plant nurseries in Frederick. I have never had a problem with any of the plants I've bought from Dutch Plant Farm and I like checking out their clearance section. read more

Sometimes I go there with no purpose, and let the mood tell me what to buy... It is pleasant to walk around inside and outside. I've picked up a Lemon Tree, a Fig Tree, numerous other small plants for my garden, and several of the gardening accessories... The service is friendly and helpful. This has become our new favorite nursery to shop at. We've gotten a few trees and perennials that have flourished well and shown they were definitely worth the price. The peach tree we got was double the coast of one at Lowes, but it's doing much better than the one we bought from Lowes. The attendants are super friendly and willing to help you get the best free and bring it to your car. Their greenhouse has everything you'd want for your garden or indoor planting dreams. We have definitely fallen in love with this place and will return frequently. I requested clarification on my receipt because I THOUGHT I had been overcharged (long story short, I wasn't) but these ladies took their time with going over each and every item and revising the receipt with me and they were actually HAPPY to help. They did not make me feel like I had inconvenienced them at all, all while even thanking me for my kindness and patience while they sort out the charges. These ladies even helped me carry out all the items I bought back into the car. These ladies really deserve some recognition or a bonus for going ABOVE AND BEYOND. Interesting place - we've never been here before and it's so close by. They have many plant varieties and I imagine they would have many more if it weren't for the shutdown from COVID19. We were able to find a rarer plant - Hollyhock. We were not asked if we needed any help but when checking out, the employees were nice and took great care in packaging our plant pot selections into bags - which keeps me from needing to vacuum my car from dirt spilling everywhere, yay! Although it's not the most impressive setup in the general DMV area, it's definitely a place to check out if you're into gardening and having a variety of plants. read more

Was in search for a Citrus Tree and they had a lot in stock!! Was able to find a good healthy few year old Lemon Tree. The staff was super helpful and knowledgeable on any questions I had! They also have such a vast selection of all sorts of plants Big or Small!! The Green House just is extraordinary, I wanted to leave with so much more than what I did. I'm a master gardener and making up for lost time during the pandemic! Nice visit to Meadows Farms in Frederick this morning. Will definitely be back to Thanksgiving Farm Nursery and Stadler's. I will bypass Dutch Plant Farm nursery in the future because in addition to their high prices (and lovely selection of plants I must say) an employee in their office couldn't be bothered today to answer a question on tools they've sold for years but nobody there uses. Employee suggested I walk around and ask each employee individually if they knew how well the tools work. The tools were very expensive which is why I asked. I said I didn't have time today but if I ever did have time I would come back and ask each employee but the sarcasm was lost so so was the sale. read more

Since Binke's in Laurel closed I had been going to VA for my plant fix but now that I've found this little gem, I won't be going to VA as much anymore. Like a lot of plant nurseries, their inventory has been effected by supply disruptions from COVID 19 but they still have an awesome selection of plants at very reasonable prices that I haven't really found anywhere else. For example, I found a ZZ Zenzi here Before then, I was only seeing these online for around $50 for a six inch pot. Now that supply chains are opening back up, I think their selection will get back to speed in no time. I can't wait to see what other plants they'll have. The plants were really affordable and easy to browse and learn about the different houseplants they had. My experience --Do not buy over the phone . Staff misrepresent the quality and features of plants , Trees so what you get is not what you bought or what you were led to believe you bought . In addition, they say the warrant plants for 6 months . Except they will not list on your receipt what the item was you bought. In order to protect yourself, make sure you force the cashier to list what was purchased and at what price so that the warranty can be used of necessary . read more

We bought a dogwood from Dutch Plant Farm that did not thrive after one year. When we contacted the owner, Trevor Mens, he gave us a choice of replacements, all excellent trees. Although he probably could have denied responsibility because the original tree was installed by a third party, he gave us a replacement without any discussion about legal liability. They take great care of the place and do an excellent job of keeping their customers ready for what each season brings. They have a wide variety of plants and gardening supplies. Be sure to sign up for their email newsletter. They send them frequently enough to know what's new or on sale without filling up your inbox. Their newsletters will occasionally include a coupon that they don't provide elsewhere. If you garden from seed be sure to be on the lookout for their seed sale around March. It's a substantial savings! Around 4th of July they have a huge sidewalk sale with some steep savings on great stuff ranging from bird feeders to large planters. read more

Another Neighborhood Jewel in Frederick. Lovely and unique nursery stock, with a great selection of annuals, perennials, herbs and bulbs not found at most other places; fresh produce stand during the summer; loads of garden supplies and houseplants, with helpful staff and timely sales that keep me coming back in every season. This week, with a cart full of annuals and scented and ivy geraniums (on sale!), I remembered that a potted rose I purchased from Dutch Plant Farm had died back almost immediately after planting earlier this spring. I asked one of the managers (owners?) who happened to step out of the office if there was anything they could do to help me under the circumstances.......I had no receipt and I had pulled the dead rose out. We can do our garden shopping here and take our time because they have 2 macaws here and a pond with koi that keep our 2 year old entertained. The plants are varied and are kept in good condition. I purchased a $40 Hydranga plant a week ago (along with about 30 other plants) and it is looking just horrible and I called to see if I could get another plant and they are not willing to do anything for me. Annuals are not guaranteed, other local nursery's such as Thanksgiving Farm guarantee their products to include their annuals. Overall it's a bit pricey... Very good customer service. I bought 2 climbing roses last fall and they died after few months. I lost my receipt and spoke to the manager. He was very understanding and he allowed me to get a free exchange for the plants. I will buy all my plants from this nursery. read more
