Such a cool little hidden gem in Middletown! I didn't even know this place existed. I don't really know what to call Surreybrooke but it is a beautiful manor with grounds, a garden center, and venue area. The manor is marked as private even though it is visible from other parts of the property. You can definitely see the growth of the plants over the decades of time but this is something so unusual to see in this area and that in itself is truly spectacular. Take 20 minutes to stroll through this place, you may find that you end up staying a bit longer. read more

We rented Surreybrooke Cabin last week ( August 2023) We loved staying there! Wonderful hosts! Darling 1800's decor; comfortable bed, cozy main floor living area, and large well-equipped kitchen. My first time ever going was Mothers Day 2017. If you are a gardener or any sort of nature lover this is a must stop. First, the selection of porch/patio plants is better than Home Depot, Lowes, and other garden centers. The price is far better than other nursery or florist. We purchased a hanging basket which is larger, healthier looking than any other place for $28.00. If you like succulents plants well this is the Mecca of all shopping. This place is beautiful. You can stroll through little paths that will lead you to different ponds, creeks, gardens, plant nurseries, and nicely decorated huts. It probably takes 30-45 mins to walk around. A bit of a drive from the city center but it is worth the drive. read more

A surprisingly lovely, relaxed garden tucked away in Middletown. It makes for a very pleasant stroll. It is also a nursery and there is a gift shop, and at both the prices run high, however due to the mellow environment and employees, there isn't any pressure to buy, and also the nursery has some lesser-known plants that may not be easily found in other places. read more

Not only a beautiful garden center but a fantastic venue for a bridal shower! We had my daughter's shower at the pavilion and it was perfect! Jessi was so easy to work with and very accommodating, everything was ready when we arrived to set up, and there were even extra touches we hadn't expected. (pillows on the garden benches, fans for an extra breeze). Everyone who attended commented on how beautiful the location was and that they wanted to return to spend more time. I highly recommend Surreybrooke as an event location and a great garden center! read more

My husband and I were married here in October 2011, and I could not have asked for a more beautiful, intimate venue. We were planning a Maryland wedding from LA, and Surreybrooke made it easy. Don't let the simplicity of the website fool you - these folks may not have a top graphic designer on staff, but they know customer service, and were incredibly sweet and helfpul along the way. When I realized that we didn't have any flowers for the bridal party, I emailed Jessi with my ideas (I think I described my dream bouquet as "Tim Burton-y dead stuff, only prettier") - Surreybrooke pulled through, at a VERY reasonable price. I wish more people knew about this place - it's gorgeous, welcoming, and I can not say enough about the service. read more

Never been here? You are missing a real gem!! They have beautiful trees and plants to choose from and a barn that has cute gifts to purchase for that person who has everything. I go there to simply walk around the gardens and enjoy the beautiful landscaping. The creek runs through the property and ducks hang out on the pond. Great place to bring a book and be part of nature. Give yourself at least an hour, maybe even more to leisurely take it all in. I'm in love. Such a magical place to have a relaxing and stimulating afternoon (or wedding, or engagement shoot, or bridal shower, or anything whimsical and dreamy). The staff is knowledgable and friendly. I came here expecting some basic succulents, but there were TONS in all different varieties. I bought one that blooms orange. The greenhouses are bright, well kept, and organized by label and instructions for care. The gardens are made for a fairy tale. They have sheds that house some antiques for sale. There are several ponds where you'll notice colorful fish swimming around peacefully. A swing overlooking a pond with some concrete garden accessories all around draws you into it as a rest area. You'll even have the opportunity hang pretty close to their ponies on site that are behind a fence and grazing in a field of tiny yellow flowers. Picturesque to say the least. It is nice to finally have visited a place that wants you to stay a while, even if you aren't leaving with a full spread of plants. I won't spoil the rest! read more
