David and I with our dessert. Lemon cake.

The food was really good though the menu has few choices. You start with warm baguette and butter. Then you get a bowl of French onion soup followed by a salad. The entrées are Prime New York steak, Prime Ribeye (which my husband and I had), Prime Filet Mignon, Atlantic Salmon, Maine Lobster Tail, and Surf & Turf. We were given a large piece of lemon cake by the manager because we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. I would definitely go back.

On a road trip, my friend Denise and I were looking for a convenience store in roads that were not…read morepaved with cement nor were they in the center of a chic boutique and a hits-the-spot every time boba shop. Yes, we were basically on dirt roads that saw a few scattered homes here and there, and visible old school phone towers (the brown kind) connected with wires (where crows sit on a row) existed, and not much else. We drove around in some circles, looking for this fabled store and found nothing, not even a Bigfoot. We noted how the moment felt like we were on an Iowa highway because we saw expansive fields and experienced a Middle-America atmosphere. I wanted a small stalk of wheat in between my teeth. As we drove, we saw this place and decided that this joint would replace the store we were looking for. At this point I started to listen to Carry on My Wayward Son by Kansas. If you know, you know. As soon as I entered I felt like I had stepped into a diner in the middle of nowhere, the type of spot where brothers talked about saving people, hunting things, you know the family business. My friend Denise did not know what I was talking about and when I tried to introduce the world to her with corny prompts she decided not to play along. Still for a fan the experience was nothing but a win!(chester). I cannot remember the person who helped us but she was a server who reported that she had lived in the surrounding area for most of her life. She was deepening the believe that we were on a route diner neglected by city reality. During this visit, I had fried okra for the first time in my life. It was weird to taste but not in a bad way. More like I had never tasted this texture before in my life. The texture that I had not tried before in my life was a gooey vegetable. Like the texture of the outside was exactly as advertised--- fried goodness. The actual okra was the gooey part. I do not want to sound crass, truly, I do not, but it did feel like enjoying something slimy, and I will leave it at that. Again, not wrong, just weird But I will not get it again. The server- the homegrown one- gave us fried pickles and these were much more to taste. Like, I i have had fried pickles before and I loved them but I had some that were not for me. But these, these, were pickle spears fried to brown goodness, and the mixture hit green- which does not mean go, more like Hulk enjoys, instead of smashes. It was a simple dish yes- green spear pickle fried but sometimes the goodness of a county fair is exactly what a roadtrip snack should be. The fair came to my table and I am not mad at that. On this trip I did have the Willow Dip which I feel is a close cousin to a french dip. What this place did well, at least I think, is putting it on an onion baguette. I am not sure if onion baguette is a middle-of-nowhere bread, but, I allowed it because the taste of the bread was, like tailored made for me, I am a sucker for onion, and not just because it gives me sexy breath. The food was standard, solid fare. Everything was just good nothing wrong with it, all good with it. The sauces were tasty, and added smoky sweet flavor that was welcomed. So this elevated the dish by addding a hickory taste. It did not save the dishes, but did make them better. The decorations were texas heavy. I should have taken more pictures. But sometimes the imagination allows for a space to feel more than at it is.

I had the rib eye the first night and the sirloin the second night, and both were cooked to perfection. Our servers were Sonya and Hailee both were so attentive. I chose to bring my own wine and they do charge a 15$ corkage fee which is very reasonable. I rented the cabin which had totally been redone and is really nice. I'll be coming back for sure!! It was nice to be able to walk inside and experience the rustic decor but then eat outside where it's a bit roomier and enjoy some nature. Service was attentive, and the owner stopped by our table to chat. On a Saturday night, a reservation is probably a good idea, and we were thankful we had one, because it was pretty full. The food was all about the steaks, with solid but unmemorable sides, and who could forget a $106, ~38-oz. Tomahawk Ribeye that my friend and I shared? We asked for rare, and were asked back "cold or warm in the middle"? (awesome!). My friend and I both said out loud at once, "cold", and it actually was. Very nice piece of meat done exactly as we wished. As for the prices, you could either wonder why they are so high for a place out in the boonies, or you could be thankful there's such good steak available way out in the boonies.

I ordered the braised short ribs, which were phenomenal. tender, richly flavored, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The veggies on the side were spot on, cooked perfectly, not too soft or too firm, just the right balance that let their natural flavors shine through. My guest had the steak, and it was cooked to absolute perfection. What impressed us most was that the waiter even asked us to cut into it right away to ensure it was exactly how we wanted, so we could keep it hot and enjoy it at its best. We also tried their special cocktail, the Blue Fog, a wild creation topped with a bubble filled with smoke. It turned heads all around us; everyone was asking what it was. It didn't just look incredible,it tasted amazing, too. Throughout the meal, our waiter made sure everything was to our liking and even asked for our honest opinions on anything they could improve, which showed they really care about their guests' experiences. This place set the bar high, and I'll be back every time I'm in town. Highly recommended!

What worked: -- servers and staff were all very kind -- there's decent menu variety and something for everyone to enjoy -- the music and vibe inside was a nice mix of busy yet intimate, it's a great place for a date or fancy night out What didn't work: -- I think this is likely due to it being Valentines Day, but the service was pretty spotty. Servers almost gave us someone else's food twice and it took a while for our food to get to our table. -- my dish (shrimp primavera) could have had a little more going for it! The pasta and veggies could have been a little more seasoned (and I would have loved more veggies), and the shrimp was waaaaay too salty, it was difficult to eat it all. It definitely wasn't a bad dish but a few small tweaks could have made it really wonderful Overall, I'd come here again! I think this might have just been an off night and I'd love to return to try some of their other dishes. The environment was a pleasant one to be in and I enjoyed the meal (and, of course, the company).

Of course we didn't but it seems that if you want to sit in the back table area, you have to have a reservation. Since we didn't, she asked if we wanted to seat at the bar where it's first come, first serve. Since we were just the second couple who entered when they opened, we had no choice but to sit at the "no reservation" area. That area right in front of the entrance is super dark, no lighting and the only true light is when the door opens. Make sure you bring your phone with you since I saw several peeps who came after us and had to seat at the bar area have to use their phones flashlight to see the menu! Lol Service- our waitress Aniessa was nice, friendly and patient. For the most part, the staff was pretty good. 5 stars So salsa and pickles are complimentary before your order if you wanted to have the salsa with the packaged breadsticks on the table. My wife actually enjoyed them but for sure she was hungry before we came. I ordered the 8 oz Spencer ribeye - medium with bake potato and salad with bleu cheese . 4 stars- why? My ribeye was over cooked and had little pink. Outer portion of the steak was cooked too much and the center did have some pink. My wife had the 8 oz New York steak Medium also, but hers was under cooked and more a medium rare because of the thick cut. But yah, other than both steaks not properly cooked. The meal overall was good. Price is on the high end compared to other steak places but to me that's fine since it was a complete meal and not one where you have to order the sides separately. Would I go again? For sure and would recommend others to try. Waitress says there is no advertising done and it's all word of mouth.

There were two options: the full experience rodizio or the salad bar and side dishes only. However, when we were seated, we were immediately told the instructions for the full experience. Personally I would only do the full experience as the salad bar wasn't varied or tasty enough for the $34.95 price tag. The salad bar and hot foods were on the mushier side. I wished the sauces were formatted in a different format as the chimichurri sauce was very far from the edge. Hence, there was a high risk of cross contamination and spillage. The mustard pasta salad was bland and limp. The potato salad fared a similar dull taste and resembled a starchy lump. The tomatoes were grainy and dry. The pao de queijo was disappointedly under the ray of death so they weren't too hot nor crispy. I wished my party got to experience fresher baskets of bread. =FULL EXPERIENCE= We were told that there were 17 available meats but we only experienced some of them. However, we enjoyed how we got to taste them when they were hot and cooked perfectly. *Picanha: one of my favorites. The fat cap was rendered and seasoned well. The meat was medium rare, tender and juicy. This had the greatest beef flavor. *Chicken with Bacon: the chicken was tender but the bacon had a stronger smokey flavor. The bacon shone more than the chicken. *Pork Belly: my other favorite piece. There were bits of fat dispersed throughout so it was moist and flavorful. There was subtle crispiness from the fat browning. *Spicy Linguica: the spice was subtle and the casing gave a satisfying snap. The interior was juicy but it was on the saltier side. *Pork Ribs: surprisingly tender and fall of the bone. The sauce was a sweeter barbeque and the ribs were on the wetter side. There wasn't any smokiness, char or caramelization but the flavors and texture were still good. *Peppered Steak: on the tougher side but still oozed out meaty juice. *Garlic Steak: similar to the peppered steak only saltier. The garlic flavor wasn't very prominent and this piece left me thirsty. I would have preferred a garlic sauce as opposed to the concentrated garlic powder taste. *Tri Tip: the best option for a leaner cut. The meat was tender and juicy. This was similar in flavor to the picanha but without the fattiness. *Grilled Cinnamon Pineapple: the cinnamon hardened around the pineapple, offering a satisfying crunch followed by a gush of sweet fruitiness. The simplistically made this my favorite rendition from a Brazilian steakhouse. This was a great meal ender despite us getting flan afterwards. *NY Strip: this was a daily special. This was a leaner cut so the beefiness was prominent but I preferred the other meats with more fat. =A LA CARTE= Not included in the all you can eat experience. *Mojito: refreshing and citrusy. There was a good amount of alcohol included. *Pudim: great way to end the meal. The Brazilian flan was dense and creamy. There was a thin layer of caramel sauce on top but it wasn't too sweet. The portion size was nicely shareable between two people. Unfortunately, they didn't bring out the shrimp until we were full so we didn't get to try it. Otherwise the service was consistent and attentive. Our server even asked about which meats were our favorites so they could bring them back out for us. There were multiple groups celebrating birthdays and they brought out their staff to sing happy birthday. During an all you can eat experience, good service is the lifeline and this was some of the best service I've received. The ambiance was stellar and this was my favorite dining experience in the Central Valley. The meats blew the salad bar and sides out of the water so I would return just for that. Although this was a pricier option, the quality and service were 5 stars.
