Oh man. I'm not personally a coffee drinker, but I couldn't help checking out Dutch Bros to see what all the hype was about. Well needless to say I loved it! Although my decision to get an amazingly tasty energy drink at 4pm may not have been my smartest choice I don't regret it Even though the line looks long, it moves quickly and the employees are the kindest people you will ever meet! I feel like with any coffee place I visit, it's hit or miss; the coffee is different every time. I've been to Dutch Bros countless times in the last two months now, and I have yet to be disappointed. My favorite is just a plain hot breve. Because, who doesn't like drinking coffee flavored cream, am I right? If I don't get that, then I get a cold brew with light ice, cream, and Softop. Softop is the light of my life. My husband loves the Kicker. He has said repeatedly, "I hate that Dutch Bros made me like coffee. I don't like coffee." He also loves the Passion Water Dutch soda. He did not love the s'mores Dutch Frost. I've also had an iced Americano, a hot Cocomo (too sweet for me), and a decaf grasshopper mocha. I almost forgot to mention that the baristas are the friendliest around. You know how you want McDonald's folks to act like Chick-Fil-A folks? I want Starbucks folks to act like Dutch Bros folks. They're so stinking nice and friendly, without fail. The only downside I've found to Dutch Bros (aside from the insanely long lines at Sandy, no matter what day or time you go), is that there's no rewards program. I'd like a little something back for all the money I spend at this damn place! Pro tip: Get out of your car and stand in line. If you read my reviews you know I'm a HUGE Dutch Bros fan. In The Phoenix Valley no matter how many DB's there are the lines are insane! So when I noticed this location while visiting UT this week I had to stop by. I decided to bring my cousin with me today especially because shes never been, crazy right? Anyway I was shocked to see no line. We pulled up to the window where we were greeted with a smile and I ordered us a couple of cold brews with heavy cream and sf vanilla, my favorite. Will Dutch Brothers meet the same fate? We can only hope not. All jokes aside, since Dunkin left Utah, we've needed a cheap alternative that still hits the spot. As a Portland native, where Dutch Bros remains most peoples CCC aka cheap coffee of choice, I am so thrilled to see them infiltrate the salt lake valley, I mean...if Boise can have them, we sure as hell should too. The employees are so friendly- I'll give them that! But aside from that I don't understand the Dutch Bros allure. I've gone 5 times just to make sure each visit wasn't a fluke. First of all, the line- you can easily get stuck in it for 45 minutes. Next, the drinks really aren't even good. My first latte was soooooo sugary I couldnt even drink it. My second latte was so burnt tasting again, I could t drink it. The next 2 times I tried a frozen drink and it's so odd- it doesn't mix, the liquid separates from the blended ice immediately and you have to constantly stir it if you want to drink it like a blended drink. Even with the constant stirring I still couldn't keep it together and ended up with a cup of blended ice. Find a cute local coffee shop or even starbucks. This location really struggles. Drinks are always good if you order the smallest size but the larger they get the less like the original drink they are. I ordered a golden eagle and I will post a picture of how far off the drink was. It was extremely milky and had no caramel flavor whatsoever. They are also extremely busy and take more than 30+ minutes if you go through the drive thru at any given time of day. I also had one girl add a $2 tip without even asking. I've never seen so much hustle anywhere let alone a drive through at a coffee shop. There were ten vehicles in line for their orders. I was afraid it would take over 25 minutes to get mine. Instead a VERY pleasant young lady walked back to my car with her iPad, took my order and credit card. In the mean time the line waiting for their orders evaporated. When I got to the window the same young lady was making orders she had been taking. DBC gets an A-plus for price, product, cleanliness, ease of access, well lighted, and especially CUSTOMER SERVICE.
