When you walk it, they have a little grocery area and the pastry counter. As you walk past the grocery aisles, you can find the restaurant seating area, which is a pretty big space. I was a bit short on time, so I chose some empanadas and some pastries to go. I tried the chicken, beef, and ham & cheese, which were all delicious. I got this pastry with a fruit similar to guava, which I devoured as well. The staff was super helpful and very patient with me and my indecisiveness. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. We ordered three drinks: a cappuccino, an iced honey lavender latte, and an iced dirty chai (decaf). First, the drinks were mislabeled -- the honey lavender latte was marked as decaf, but it was actually the dirty chai that was decaf. This led to confusion, but more importantly, the flavors were off. I've enjoyed the hot versions of the dirty chai and honey lavender latte many times before, but these iced versions tasted nothing like what I'm used to from other locations. The cappuccino was okay, and the place itself looked nice. The staff member we interacted with was friendly, which I appreciate. But sadly, the drinks just didn't deliver the same quality or taste I've come to love from Grounds for Coffee.

Standing up for others rights is one thing. Intentionally creating discord is quite another. This experience is not great for anyone with anxiety, or needs peace and calm, with a sensory processing disorder or preference to avoid conflict. Hate doesn't need a seat at the table. Kind of done with that. I'm not coming back. The coffee is good though. So are the baked treats. Had a lot of potential.

That's about as good as you'll ever find for something on a Utah store shelf--especially valuable here where it can be hard to find quality roast in lots of Utah towns. The espresso roast has a rich full medium roast flavor, with some bite and with lots of nutty aftertaste. The beans don't have visible oil, even freshly roasted, so they are easy to weigh accurately for grams per volume in your your portafilter, and they go through your grinder smoothly. I like to try whatever local roasts I can find, but Daily Rise combines the freshness of the roast, the exceptional flavor that results, and the consistency for your machine. Probably I have found my new daily standard. Daily Rise espresso roast is called a medium roast and is roasted to the right level for Italian style espresso, even though most espresso roasts are called a dark roast. Daily Rise seems to reserve the dark roast label for their French roast, and French roast needs to be a way darker roast than an Italian espresso roast, so that makes sense.
