It's been nine years since my last review of this location and being at the time I was very disappointed, I thought after all these years I'd give them another try. I want to start by saying the staff here was fantastic- very friendly and inviting and I wish I could give them 5 stars however "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished". The food was so disappointing except for the bread, coleslaw and fried okra but I didn't come here for the sides - the pork ribs were undercooked and so tough it was almost impossible to eat them, trying to get the meat off the bone was almost impossible, while tugging on the bone without success the word "mule" came to mind. The chicken was also undercooked I ordered this meal online so there was no returning it I paid extra for all white but received a thigh and a leg. The food was nothing I'd go back for, our order that finally arrived was wrong, and dry and flavorless...the bbq sauces really were not special or even good. Dustin's is always spot on, favorite spot to grab a bite to eat & have their salad bar, sweet tea is always great & service is fantastic. Brisket or ribs & my lunch favorite is the jumbo smoked turkey on garlic bread! It's a large building with tons of tables, served quickly for those of us on lunch break & is always appreciated. Oh Dustin's! You know I love you but today I decided I was going to have a Caesar salad and add a guilty pleasure of fried chicken. Now I know you are known for your barbecue so I thought to myself I'll bet they'll make a nice piece of fried chicken for me. But when I got my salad it was a patty from my groceries freezer of processed chicken food, oh Dustin! how could you do that to me!? All I ask is that you change your menu to say Caesar salad, with "fried chicken patty." So now all I'm stuck with is the guilt and the calories but not all of the pleasure. And I mean, I was looking forward to a nice juicy piece of chicken thickly breaded with a crisp fried crust and all I got was a warmed up piece of frozen chicken patty. It's like going on one of those dating apps when the picture just doesn't match the person that shows up. Unfortunately I believe the quality of Dustin's in edgewater has gone down . Last year it was always good hot food . I realize this is a chain but it was over the top good . This year one meal was good the next three not so good . I will say the servers are great ! Portions are great but the food is not up to snuff . Average price place . Delicious! Best wings my family has ever had...we wish we were able to have more. We will be regular customers on our trips to Florida! I got the beef brisket with coleslaw and Mac n cheese. It was great! Only critique is the brisket was a little dry but the flavor was great. The thin sliced garlic bread and mac n cheese also amazing! I paid $19.11 and the food was worth $8.99. The chicken thigh and leg was so tiny. It would be an ok size for a child. Then you get three 5" ribs. 1 cup on pork n beans, a baked potato that was pruned and probably baked the night before. making the meal absolutely DISAPPOINTING! Then the food was barely warm enough not to be cold. The size and quality of the chicken was so poor youu can tell it came from large plaastic bag from sams club. Visiting family in EdgeWater. They haven't tried most of the places and we decided we would give this a go. We called in an order of six different selections. We got two rib plates, two jumbo pulled pork sandwiches, a pulled pork plate, and a beef, pork, and rib combo. First the good. We called in the order and they had it ready in 10 minutes. The people were very friendly and patient. The order was put together flawlessly, even when separating the sides (separating the cold and hot). As for the food, there is a lot to be desired. The ribs had good texture. But they tasted like they were cooked in an oven, not smoked. The pork and beef really didn't have much flavor to them. There certainly was no evidence that they had been smoked or seen smoke or has someone smoking near by when they were being prepared. That being said, the sauce was pretty good and if you add that to the meat, it was pretty good. As for sides, fries were crispy. Coleslaw was decent and beans were pretty good. Pricing is pretty consistent with other BBQ joints. About $15 per plate. Sandwiches were about $9.00. I can't say I recommend the place, but all in all, I think it was just meh. read more

Our family was in town for a baseball tournament and looking for a yummy mom and pop. We hit the jackpot. 3 of the 4 in our party ordered only the salad bar and were so very impressed. Ordinary BBQ that's okay. Alright. They have some quirky odd rules. Like if you get the rack of ribs with the salad bar, and share the ribs with anyone at the table, they charge you full price for that salad bar. Something about a coupon. And when your check comes to the table you'd better know to run it on up and pay the cashier on the way out or face gaunt blank stares from your server. The hanging salad bar sneeze guard is so low it's ridiculous. You should see people try to load their plates with that thing a swingin'! I sent an e-mail and a picture to Dustin's requesting a partial refund for our take-out order, but have not received a response, nor an acknowledgment after 24 hours. The baked potato in my order was rotten in the middle. This was obvious to whoever sliced it while preparing the order. Normally you can just cut it out, but the rot went down to the skin. I took a picture of it and emailed Dustin's requesting a partial refund. I could have sent my husband back to Dustin's for a replacement, but decided to just eat the rest of my meal. I couldn't eat the chicken - totally dried out and skin was too hard to chew. Gave the meat to our dogs. It's insulting that whoever prepared my order didn't just replace the potato after cutting it down the middle. $50 order, and all I could eat from my meal was the corn. BUT for the last year the meat has been dry dry dry. i keep hoping it will be better next time but it's not. my sliced pork sandwhich was not only dry it was hard around the edges. and the meat was mostly in the middle of the bun. and of course smaller portions of meat. i don't like to send food back. the cooks take offense and no telling what they might do to your food back there. i think it must be new management took over a year or so ago? corporate should know this location is ruining their reputation. unfortunately i won't be going back. read more

I will say this the portions were a good size, and the house sauces are tasty. Once I added Dustins pulled pork sauce, it was better. The baked beans were sweet and tangy, with onions and beef in them. Both the garlic bread and the cole slaw were just average. My waitress was very friendly, and other than forgetting to bring the hot sauce I asked for, did a good job for as busy as they were. It seems like they're understaffed on wait help, since I had a longer than normal wait to place my order, and the bill was a little slow being delivered. One other good note: you can get whatever you're drinking to go, at no extra charge. If you're not a bbq afficionado, it's probably a good place to get bbq, at what seems like a reasonable price.
