It's a casual, fun place with tons of indoor and outdoor space - both covered and uncovered. There's even lawn games for the day time. Lots of parking and easy to access from the outlet mall. Great for the whole family! My friends and I came here to catch up over some beers but we didn't expect to see a full food menu! We orders burgers, onion rings, and nachos to share. I personally loved the variety of beer selections on tap. There's also a cold case of cans for purchase. We sat in the outdoor patio that had a separate play area for small kids. There's plenty of seating for large groups and tv screens to watch games. The patio is covered which helped with the warm weather. They even have a photo wall of dogs! Was introduced to this spot recently! Had no idea a large brewery like this existed in EG. The passing trains add a touch of whimsy to the ambiance. Love the outdoor seating area with the dedicated kids play area. Back in my day, if you wanted to have a beer in a public setting with a kid there weren't a ton of options. I draw the line at having kids birthday parties at a brewery however. Since when did toddlers start liking IPAs? Anyway, the day I was here the AC wasn't working indoors so it was quite stuffy, the outdoors was just starting to get the infamous delta breeze kicking in which made it quite a pleasant experience. I got the sampler which gives you five pours to try for $14. Tbh all of them that I tried were good except for one, and upon reading their current list of pours on their website, I didn't see it listed! Funny in my notes for the place I put the phrase "Perfect Brewery". Let me see if I can explain why I think that. So I found this place after a Yelp event in the area and I needed grab a bit to eat. Little did I know I would run into my favorite lager at any brewery in the Sacramento area. First of all they have a pretty large parking lot, they are located in Historic Elk Grove, it's a pretty busy part of town on weekends. Walking in, it feels like a pretty wide open space, though it was quite busy as most of the tables were occupied. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, I did see spots outside but after a quick look over, I took a spot at their bar. It's open seating at the bar. I was pretty unfamiliar with the beer at this brewery, though the names seemed familiar. I decided to go with a beer flight so I could try a few of their beers and get a solid feel for what they serve here. A beer flight here comes with 5 beers and cost $14.00. My beers for the sampler was as follows 1. Confused Therapist-Hazy Imperial IPA 2. Peace, Love & Haze-Hazy IPA 3.Taco Amber-Amber Lager 4.Taco Truck Lager-Mexican-style Lager 5. Therapist-Imperial IPA My two favorite of these beers were the Confused Therapist and the Taco Truck Lager-both just wonderful drinking experiences, but different. As luck would have it,the wife was the smart one and got the best beer. She got the Taco Truck Lime($8.00), which is similar to their Taco Truck drink but it has added lime and sea salt crystals. That's probably the best lager I've ever had and what we got a 6 pack($11.99) of to take home. It's so good. As far as food goes we ended up splitting a Brisket Burger($22.00) with a side of Garlic Fries($3.00). The Brisket Burger was pretty tasty, but I think I prefer a regular burger instead of brisket. The Garlic Fries were elite though-the wifey and I had that hitting breath after eating those bad boys. The bartending staff were quite friendly and chatty and checked on us frequently and didn't hesitate when I had questions about their beer and food menu. The Old Town Tap House is inside a beautiful historic brick building in the Old Town area. The last time we were here you had to order up at the front counter but if you eat inside, it's full service dining now which we loved! Our server, I believe his name was Gabriel was fantastic! The Dust Bowl Tap House is located in old Elk Grove off the boulevard next to the tracks on Rail Road street. I came here for a bon voyage party as a friend embarked on his journey to ret. bliss. I didn't know this locals tap house existed until I appeared for a going away party. The Dust bowl, aside from its obscure location, was the perfect place to enjoy a small bite and an adult beverage whilst multi tasking and "staying lo." Although the small bites menu offers several items I only tried the brick oven fired pizza, and it was outstanding. Found out the Dust Bowl Brewery was only a 15-20 minute drive from us so we had to check it out! Went for an early dinner and a few pint. The parking is very spacious and heard it has been around for about 3 years now. The menu was far better than an actual brewery with a good size kitchen. The table space and bar seating was very inviting along with an outdoor patio setting. We went with the sampler selection and glad we did. A lot of variety on the menu and the Elite dip was awesome! The place has nice chill vibes Service super slow we sat at the bar & we were help once didn't come back check on us in a very long time. We waited about 40 mins for a burger and pretzel. Last weekend I met up with a good friend at Dust Bowl, and of course I had to bring my official sidekick, Lobo. This was my first time here and we really enjoyed it. The patio was a great spot to hang out on a Saturday afternoon, relax, and enjoy a Truck Lager. It had a nice, easygoing vibe, which is exactly what we were looking for. It was by dad's 92nd birthday, and because of his age and disabilities, we decided to celebrate at home by ordering to go food. My sister and her husband recommended the food here at the Dust Bowl Old Town Tap House. My sister has dietary restrictions, and this place also has some vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options to choose from on their menu. Unfortunately, my sis and her hubby took our orders, with plans to relax at the bar area first for a beer and wine. And then order at the counter. They didn't take into account that there was an important 49er game going on at the same time. So needless to say, the facility was packed with patrons! But anyway, they finally placed our orders and had to face reality that a long wait would be necessary to get our food. After waiting for what seemed like hours, they eventually returned home with our chosen selections. I ordered the fish tacos which were placed in flour tortillas and lots of delicious added toppings. It included a side salad. The tacos were good, but because of the long time we had to wait for our food to arrive back home, it didn't take much for the tortillas to get soggy and fall apart in my hands, so I ended up eating them casserole style. I wasn't expecting a salad with my order, so I was too full by then and had to eat it the next day. I was amazed at how much salad they stuffed into a small "to go" container. But it was perfect for a full meal the next day! My dad got a pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries: braised pork shoulder meat simmered in house-made BBQ sauce. Served on a brioche bun topped with their "Taco Truck Pepper Jack Beer Cheese". My sister ordered the Okie Nachos: fried potato chips layered with jack & cheddar cheese, grilled chicken & BBQ sauce. Topped with ranch dressing, green onions & sour cream on the side. My brother-in-law got the Jalapeno Beer Cheeseburger: a beef patty topped with fried jalapeño, crispy bacon & their Taco Truck infused pepper jack beer cheese. Served on a fresh pretzel knot bun with honey mustard & grilled onions along with their freshly fried thick sliced potato chips tossed in salt, parmesan & parsley. We all enjoyed our food. We came on a Saturday night and there were still a bunch of tables available inside as well as outside (pretty big space overall) and being to the Monterey one, I think this place is bigger. We sat inside and our server was super friendly. As I thought would happen, while waiting for our food, my kid got to run around outside and it's a great space for kids/dogs to come and grab a beer. Visited this nice Tap House a couple days ago to celebrate a friend's birthday. Staff were super friendly and gave solid recommendations for the food.
