Ny family has been going to this place for so many years now. The pan dulce has a very great taste. The bread is always fresh.

4 stars for their tamales, tried the pork and rajas options. Good flavor, plenty of meat and chile inside. The mask was not overpowering and didn't crumble like many other places. The bread has been decent, I have tried it multiple times and is sometimes questionable. Place is clean and staff is friendly. I would reccomend this spot and would come back. read more

Best pan dulce and bolio bread bakery in Pico Rivera. Service is always fast, upbeat and with a smile. The bread is fresh baked and soft. Authentic Hispanic/Latino style bakery. Every smells and tastes great. The bolio "French rolls" bread is definitely my favorite especially for making home made tortas. This bakery bakes classic tradition and current innovation. read more

Omg!! I haven't found a place to get sweet bread in Washington state so coming home to visit is always a treat. Our first breakfast in California is always tamales & pan dulce. My father suggested Durans for sweets. There was a large variety to choose from and the Bakery smelled delicious. I have to say it was a great choice! Sorry only snapped one pic to many people in front of the cases. Pic is of the cookies read more

Duran's Bakery - Bakeries Near Me - Pico Rivera, California

I've been at this bakery a few times and I always recommend family and friends to buy from here because the bread is always

I bought 40 pieces of pan dulce for my church food court. Someone told me to come here. I know this place is known for their pan dulce so I gave it a try. The first thing I noticed is the quantity of pan dulce and cookies. Omg!! It's a lot!! If you are looking for variety and quantity this is the place your looking for. They also sell tamales. A bunch of other products and food is sold. I tasted the pan dulce and I give it solid 4 stars. My favorite pan was good but did not taste fresh. It lacked softness and size. It was on the small side. Not all of them were small. Just the one I like which looks crescent shape with yellow and sugar on the top. The lady was helpful. No one was there when we went so we got out order quickly. She was nice enough to put it in a box for us. I really appreciated that! read more

It saddens me to leave this review. I'm leaving two stars out of respect to the original owners. I've been coming here for over 30 years. My first question is: Is there new owners? Did they sell the business? For the past 6 or more weeks that I have been going in on Sundays there is barely any bread on display and what is there looks sad. The conchas look like a blind person put them together and they are hard. All there bread looks and taste like there day old bread. I haven't seen a familiar face since like for ever, really! I think it was last Christmas the last time I saw the usual lady's that are there on Sundays . For the prices on the bread, like past reviewers have said. I think they make it up each time you go in. I walked out one time and paid $12 for 10 pieces of bread and when I got to the car I had to look into the bag and count the pieces again, Wow I was blown away. I thought maybe she made a mistake but NO this happens every week I go. It's no longer worth coming here, I have to find another location that cares about the quality of there product and also charges correctly. If the Duran family did sell the business, the new owners should be honest enough to post a sign "under new management ". I believe in supporting our local businesses but not when the product doesn't meet what we pay for it. So Sad!!!!! read more

Came her for champurrado or hot chocolate and they didn't have either! Ugh. Only coffee and pan dulce. I was highly disappointed

The service is good. They are very nice. They take the time to tell you buenos diaz. The pan dulce is so good and delicious... But let me tell you about my new Favorite and yes I said favorite item they sell there. I know you might tell yourself, really in a panadería. They make the best CHORIZO!!! It was hard finding a good chorizo. In pico, I tried about 6-8 and no luck. I personally don't like the market generic chorizo. To me a good chorizo has to be fresh. This chorizo was not greasy. Come in an real casing. And for those of you that like it hot, they make two versions. Mild or HOT.. Try it, it won't disappoint. They sell it in a 1 Lbs bag. read more

I have been here a few times and every time I come the price goes up and I'm talking about one or two weeks in between. I don't like that the breads don't have prices and I am charged over $1 for each piece of bread and some breads cost more than others. Why not display the prices? Last time I went for two pieces of small pan dulce I was charged $2.40 and like a week earlier I was charged just under $2. Does the cashier make up the different prices every day? I stopped coming and now go to Superior Market for pan dulce, there all the prices for pan dulce are the same ,$.70 cents and the price is displayed. read more

This place has "Cake Shop" prominently displayed outside, so I am amazed at the lack of service and quality I experienced. My sister is getting married, so we asked if they do cake tastings. They said no, so we asked the price of their smallest cake. $10. We ordered a cake and picked it up a few days later. "That will be $15". "I was told $10" "No it's $15. (insert snotty tone) $10 cakes don't EXIST here!" I really wanted to just leave the cake behind, because if they were pulling this bad customer service now, what would it be like if we ordered a wedding cake!!!! But this place is very close to the venue and my sister was looking forward to it, so we gave in and paid for the cake... To add insult to injury... the cake flavor order was not correct, and the cake was the WORST, DRIEST, FLAVORLESS cake I have ever had the displeasure of eating. It was so upsetting, I wanted to go throw the cake through their window for everything they'd put us through. Considering how brick hard it was, it probably would have broken it. :) read more

Very good pan dulce. I go get pan dulce every Sunday my daughter loves it. If your paying with a card it's kind of a hassle if there's other customers, they don't have the card reader by the register other then that good bakery read more

Haven't been here in awhile. I have been going here since I was a kid now I'm 49. What has changed? New ownership? Different baker? Just didn't have that authentic taste I'm used to. Almost every sweet bread I got was over cooked. May have to find a new place. read more

Absolutely the best Mexican bread! Very cleanI love how they are patient as you tell them what bread you want. Great service!

My family has been coming to this bakery for over 20 years. We moved out of Pico Rivera years back but still continued to come here when we were in town. The pan dulce use to be fresh and had a distinct flavor compared to other bakeries around that area. The quality of the bread has gone down so much. The bread still has good flavor but doesn't taste fresh and is hard. The conchas use to literally melt in your mouth definetely not the case now. I also tried the champurado today and it was very watered down. Not sure if i will be returning to this bakery when I'm in town. read more

I've been going to Duran's since I was a small child. The bolios are delicious (my favorite) and the conchas are always fresh with a great variety of other delicious sweet breads. I love that the person behind the counter gets your bread for you. I'm not a huge fan of the places where you grab your own, just because people can breath or cough all over it, and small children could be touching all the breads. I love the set up of this bakery. It makes for a more personal experience. I'm giving them 5 stars, because of their consistency in providing great food and service. However, I recently went there and the lady assisting was less than friendly. The man (I think one of the owners) came out with a large smile though. Maybe she was just having a bad day. read more

I love the bread here .. But I mainly go for the spicy chorizo they sell , best ever!!

This is the best Pan dulce ever. I introduced this place to my beau a few weeks ago. I have been going to this place for years. The bread is so tasty and good. The freshest bread I have ever tasted. I am not exactly sure what the actual price per bread is. We ushually buy 10 pieces or so and it comes to be about $4.25. The bread is fantastic. The prices are good. The bolios are so tasty. TRY it out! read more

Went first thing in the morning after a sleepless night full of trolling yelp. Read the reviews for the place and decided to treat the fam to some conchas. Yum! They were so soft and warm, the best I've ever had. That man who helped me was so nice and welcoming. It took me back to the days my parents took me to the panaderia in East LA. I officially love Durans! read more

very yummy stuff here.

My family has been going to Duran's Bakery for as long as I can remember. We usually order tamales for the holidays and haven't had any issues until this year. We ordered FOUR DOZEN tamales and we noticed the first few we opened were much smaller than they seemed wrapped. Aside from that they were dry (they crumbled!) and very different from what we've had in the past. We thought maybe it was just those first ones but when serving them on Christmas morning, realized it was all of them. Everyone had something to say about them. :( FOUR DOZEN extra small, dry and crumbly tamales. We have been loyal customers for numerous years, but this is definitely unacceptable. read more

Don't be fooled by the 4 1/2 star rating. I grew up on Durfee so we would alway's buy our bread there, even up until November of 2014. Duran's sell their customers stale old pan dulce and try to pass it off as fresh. The last straw was when we bought bread after the Thanksgiving Holiday. The Pan Dulce they had sold us was HARD and crumbly. I guess it would have made good Pan Dulce croutons. Yuck, No Mas Duran's!!! You have lost a family customer of over 25yrs. When I am asked where to get good Pan Dulce, I tell them drive a little further and get the best and freshest Pan Dulce at El Gallos in East L.A.. At least there, they bag their day old bread and let their customers know it was not baked that morning. STAY CLEAR of Durans! read more

WOW! Large selection and really fresh Mexican Bread. I've been going to this one place near by my whole life. I always told people about it. That it was the best. turns out that place always had stale bread. And sadly I got accustomed to it. Im not going to mention that other place.
