However, from an outside perspective, it doesn't seem like much has changed at all. In fact, I feel like it's gotten more expensive, and more picky with what items they put out on the floor. In general, it just feels like a boutique now. It's clean, well thought out, there are fancy, cool items, and a few more affordable things. If that's what you're after, you'll probably enjoy this thrift store. I guess I'm still stuck in the past, when it was truly affordable and had a wider range of items. When it really felt like a thrift store. Now, whenever I go there, I leave with nothing. I don't think it'll ever be like it was before, and while I truly hope that the new business model works well for them, since their mission is important, I can't see myself stopping by anymore.

Prior to surrendering him, I had reached out to them for help as my dog was biting people and I could not find a animal behaviorist in the area that did have a several month to one year waiting list. They gave me the number of the person that they use and I called her several times. She never called me back after multiple attempts to get help for my pet. Sadly I had to surrender him because I could not find a place to live that would accept a dog nor could I find help for his behavior. After I surrendered him, I started working on finding a home for him or a training facility. I was working with the director durning this time but she would never call me back after many many many attempts to reach out to her to try and find a solution for my dog. She told me "come get him today or he is up for adoption" " We are not a boarding facility or a rehab facility." Very Rude considering they are in the animal life saving business. So much for help from your local humane society when you need it. The director acted like I just didn't want my dog and wanted to just get rid of him which is not the case at all. I just needed help. Once I finally did find a home for him the communication at the facility was horrible with constant voicemails left and no return calls nor answering of emails. I had arrange a pet transport for him to another state and they just wouldn't call me back. Finally I got in touch with someone who could help me and finally have been able to get my dog out of there. The overall experience is horrible there is no communication and messages are not relayed in a timely manner. They treat you like you are scum of the earth when you have to surrender your animal even when you are really struggling with the decision.

Not only did I come home to two happy kitties, Kari also helped me solve some of the cats issues with drinking water. When I asked for some cat advice she was so knowledgeable and gave me lots of tips to do at home for when I came back. This was much appreciated and I can already tell they are working and the kitties are all the happier for it. Kari kept me up to date on the cats while I was away, as well as gave a detailed summary upon my return. We offered half up front and half later, she refused, but did agree to hold the check until we returned. Then, she cashed the check immediately against our agreement. When I called her to discuss the matter, she became irate. We had to find emergency help to take care of our pets from a different country. If you wish a worry free vacation, avoid at all costs.

We dropped Smaxwell off at 7:30 with a very friendly young lady who explained everything to us and told us about posting pics on Facebook. We were a tad late picking him up because the train was running behind but they said it wasn't a problem and we got him just in the nick of time. They even allow dogs to spend the night, if the train is late, free of charge!! Since I don't speak dog I can't 100% say how Smax enjoyed himself but he seemed tuckered our and happy to see me at the end of a long day of playing! I highly recommend this place for pups because they are very affordable, friendly staff, and located right down the street from the train!

I had an extremely upsetting experience at this boarding facility. I was told my dog would be…read moreplaced in a designated late‑pickup area because we were arriving back from the Durango-Silverton train after hours. When I arrived, she was not in the location I was told she would be. When I walked into the area, her kennel was empty -- and the only other kennel was wide open and empty as well. In that moment, I genuinely thought my dog had been stolen. No staff member was present, no signage, no explanation. I had no way of knowing whether another dog had already been picked up and mine taken with them. I stood there panicked, thinking the worst. Only later was I told that there was never another dog in that second kennel. But how was I supposed to know that when both kennels were empty and no one was there to help? The lack of communication and the careless setup caused unnecessary fear and distress. My dog was eventually located, but this experience was unacceptable. Clear communication and secure, supervised pickup procedures are basic expectations for any boarding facility. This place failed to meet them.
