I have been bringing my family to Dr Mann for probably almost 15 years now - the best practice, hands down.

I had a really bad toothache and I work Tuesday thru Friday. My husband had recently had some work…read moredone and reminded me that Comfort Dental is also open on Saturday. I stopped in, told them what was going on and they had me fill out some paperwork as a new patient. There are about 3 dentists in this location located in Durango, Co. My dentist, was Dr. Todd Crandall. Very polite. Informative and answered any question I had and listened to my needs. They did an X-ray of the problem area, discovered I had an infection in the upper left side of my mouth that had no way of saving it because I had too much bone loss. The following weekend, Saturday, March 7th I came in to have the tooth extracted. Mind you, I am petrified of dentists. The assistant took me back, made me comfortable in the chair. Got me prepped for Dr. Crandall to come in. He numbed me and said he'd be back in about 7-8 minutes. While he was gone, his assistant brought me a nice cup of hot coffee! YES, COFFEE! ......try drinking that with a numb face and mouth! Haha! Dr. Crandall came back in, started the procedure and the whole thing was over as quickly as it started! My appointment was at 10 am......I was literally in the chair, spent a few minutes with the receptionist to pay my bill and back on the road by 10:25 a.m. The level of care I received far exceeded my expectations going in. They took someone who was petrified going in and turned into a grateful heart going out. If you don't have dental insurance they have a gold plan and they will work with you on payments too! That's a huge plus! You can also ask for a quote on any of their services and they will break it down for you and you can make payments on that as well! COMFORT DENTAL in Durango, Co ROCKS! Pass it around! Tammy Boen Ignacio, Co

I told him that really hurt and that I didn't understand what he wanted from me, tried to be more helpful and he didnt let up, he then pushed my face so hard into the chair and was elbowing me down it was scary. The ultimate in quality, professionalism and care and concern/empathy…read more I was visiting Durango/Bayfield this past April of 2024. While on my visit, I began experiencing severe pain in an area of my molar. The very next day it got so bad, my face eyes and cheeks had swelled and I could no longer manage it. I phoned my Lakewood, CO Dentist, whom has taken care of our family for over 30 plus years. She said "don't drive home, I know a colleague of mine from Dental School who now practices in Durango and Bayfield, CO." I immediately called this office at 801 Florida and was quickly taken care of. The receptionist ( all of them ) were compassionate and got me in the very next day. Dr. Courtney Heinicke and his Assistant Kiffanie were outstanding. They listened and had great touch in caring for my emergency. After a quick X-Ray it was clearly visible that the tooth had two cracks in it and could not be saved. I was emotionally tearful because I didn't want to loose it. They carefully explained the process to me and answered all my questions. Dr. Heinicke numbed me up quickly and proficiently. I became much more comforted by their care. The tooth came out quickly and my body was finally eased. They assured me that they were also available 24/7 if I had any post issues..... A on call Doctor was just a phone call away. I did not need any post care, I followed up with my Dentist when I came home from my visit. Thank you to this fantastic staff, they" kinda saved my life that day."

I read the great reviews for Dental Associates of the SW so I called in for an appointment. It was Friday am and they said the first available will be on Monday. They put me on a waiting list for Friday and sure as anything - I get a call for 1 pm. The entire staff and the dentist were remarkable. The dentist said he would try to save my root canaled tooth.... and he did! And it was no easy feat. Hero dentistry at its best. Super happy with my experience and would highly recommend.

**Review for Dr. Pinkerton**…read more Beware of Dr. Pinkerton if you're considering her for your child's dental care. I'm writing this review to share my unfortunate experience, in hopes of helping other parents make informed decisions. My daughters, ages three and four, initially had positive visits for their six-month cleanings. The staff was kind, attentive, and fantastic with kids, and Dr. Pinkerton herself seemed professional and caring. However, beneath the surface of her friendly demeanor lies an alarming level of greed and a questionable approach to pediatric care. At our most recent visit, Dr. Pinkerton recommended cutting my three-year-old's tongue tie, describing it as a simple procedure involving numbing, cutting, and stitching. It was presented as no big deal. I had my doubts and decided to consult my cousin, a speech-language pathologist. Keep in mind my daughter has never had an issue with latching to the breast for breast feeding, eating or speaking. She strongly urged me to get a second opinion from Sandra Coulson, an orofacial myologist (a kind of physical therapist for the face). During a telehealth consultation with Sandra Coulson, she adamantly advised against the procedure, citing that tongue ties should not be cut after the age of one and before the age of five. Instead, she recommended Orofacial physical therapy to address any issues. This alternative approach was not even mentioned by Dr. Pinkerton. In addition I let my pediatrician know what Dr. Pinkerton's recommendation and she said I was not the first parent to tell her that Dr. Pinkerton wanted to cut a child's tongue ties. Thus raising serious concerns about whether her recommendation was genuinely in the best interest of my child or driven by financial motives. I can no longer trust Dr. Pinkerton to provide care for my children. While her practice boasts a state-of-the-art facility, her push for unnecessary procedures feels more like a profit-driven agenda than ethical dentistry. Parents, please do your research and trust your instincts. Don't let a slick smile and modern equipment cloud your judgment when it comes to your child's well-being. **Verdict:** Dr. Pinkerton is fired. Seek care elsewhere. I recommend speaking with Sandra Coulson or one of her associates: https://www.sandracoulson.com/about
