I had an amazing experience when I went here. The dentist, Dr. Crandall, considered the best ways to get my work covered. My teeth have been better ever since, and I can't complain one bit about the work he did. I came in thinking I'd be judged and be told I have to have a tooth pulled, but instead the staff and doctors figured out how to help me keep all of my teeth. I had issues with sensitivity to hot, cold and sweets, but now that's over thanks to the thorough and effective work done by the staff here at Comfort Dental. The cleanings are especially quick and painless, and the practice has really proven to be one of the best in town. The atmosphere is especially welcoming for a dentist office, which reflects on the name of the place. I can safely say I've never had such a great experience at the dentist, and I will keep coming here for everything I need when it comes to my teeth. read more

I had a really bad toothache and I work Tuesday thru Friday. My husband had recently had some work done and reminded me that Comfort Dental is also open on Saturday. I stopped in, told them what was going on and they had me fill out some paperwork as a new patient. There are about 3 dentists in this location located in Durango, Co. My dentist, was Dr. Todd Crandall. Very polite. Informative and answered any question I had and listened to my needs. They did an X-ray of the problem area, discovered I had an infection in the upper left side of my mouth that had no way of saving it because I had too much bone loss. The following weekend, Saturday, March 7th I came in to have the tooth extracted. Mind you, I am petrified of dentists. The assistant took me back, made me comfortable in the chair. Got me prepped for Dr. Crandall to come in. He numbed me and said he'd be back in about 7-8 minutes. While he was gone, his assistant brought me a nice cup of hot coffee! YES, COFFEE! ......try drinking that with a numb face and mouth! Haha! Dr. Crandall came back in, started the procedure and the whole thing was over as quickly as it started! My appointment was at 10 am......I was literally in the chair, spent a few minutes with the receptionist to pay my bill and back on the road by 10:25 a.m. The level of care I received far exceeded my expectations going in. They took someone who was petrified going in and turned into a grateful heart going out. If you don't have dental insurance they have a gold plan and they will work with you on payments too! I felt assaulted during my teeth cleaning. Dentist got frustrated at me and pulled on my lip so hard I almost screamed. I told him that really hurt and that I didn't understand what he wanted from me, tried to be more helpful and he didnt let up, he then pushed my face so hard into the chair and was elbowing me down it was scary. DO NOT GO HERE. This photo was taken at my new dentist, one that I had to find a week after getting a filling done at comfort dental. They left a large gap that should have been filled, and did not shape the filling at all. Food was getting stuck and there was so much inflammation. Besides waiting an hour from initial appointment time-- my dentist at comfort dental was extremely rushed, my experience was painful, and they use outdated filling methods. She also DROPPED her drilling instrument while working on me. My new dentist said, word for word: "I don't normally say this, but they did a really horrible job on this filling and shouldn't have let you leave like this." read more

While vacationing and visiting my son who lives in Durango I had one of my porcelain veneers caps pop off. I called Comfort Dental on a Tuesday evening and they where able to get me in Wednesday morning to address my issue. Once I got to the office I was greeted by a very polite young lady who got me checked in. I waited less than 5 min to get in and the dental tech had my Veneer cap cemented back on in a matter of minutes. The entire staff was very polite, professional and very considerate. Shame on you comfort dental. Your staff is not friendly. I had to cancel to get my permanent crown placed due to lack of child care. I was told to come in as a walk in instead of rescheduling so I have come three times now and have yet to be seen. This last time I came in the staff said they couldn't help me, they were so rude and said they were closed the time they told me to walk in. They said to walk in again next week. I live an hour away. Are you going to pay for my gas? Your filling already fell out of my tooth and the temp crown is awful and I cannot even eat with it. It's been WEEKS. I understand it's my bad for my childcare falling through but how dare you have someone in pain like this for weeks and just ignore them? Do not go here if you want your fillings to last and want to feel like a valued patient. SHAME. They are too lazy to confirm if specific insurance is accepted as I explained my specific Delta Dental plan was not covered by another Dentist office and would have to pay out of pocket, so I wanted to confirm Comfort accepted my specific plan and she could not confirm. Very unprofessional staff, doctor looked at my teeth for 5 minutes and said "all good" and walked out. Hygienist or assistant didn't floss my bottom 4 front teeth, and then pushed down too hard and the corner of my permanent retainer popped off. Front desk staff were rude, talked to me like I was an idiot. They had me pay out of pocket for a cleaning and bitewings after saying I didn't have insurance, when I do, then says insurance didn't pay so they can't issue a refund when it's been over a month. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. So unprofessional. Unorganized. I went in for an appointment in September and they said they would contact my insurance for approval of a procedure. A huge life event a happened for me and I assumed I missed their call back when I called in March to confirm that my insurance would cover a procedure. They never called my insurance to check but said, "who do you have for insurance? Yeah they should cover your procedure" and went ahead and scheduled me for the work a few weeks later in April. Fast forward to my appointment date, i got there, and they didn't put me down for an appointment.. my mouth is hurting and I am willing to wait another month and a half to go see another dentist in the area. I don't trust them. I wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. Oh! And they tried to pin my EX brother in law's dental debt on me because we at one time had the same address. They hopefully "fixed" that just like they scheduled my appointment. I hope I don't get anything from his dental work sent to me for collections or something. My son, attending Fort Lewis, went to Comfort Dental. Dr Cordner applied three fillings. A couple weeks later, my son said his tooth still hurt. Sent him to our local family dentist here in Boulder, who had to replace one of the fillings because it was poorly implemented. Our dentist didn't want to provide details out of professional curtesy, or I would have challenged our outstanding balance due with Comfort. We paid in full, twice, for the same filling. We won't be going back to Comfort Dental. read more

I'll start this review off by saying I went in for a cleaning and didn't actually get a cleaning. The hygenist barely "polished" my teeth and then the dentist came in and sprayed water behind my retainer to remove buildup. I was in there for a total of 15 minutes. A week later I started getting rashes on the inside of my lips so bad that my lips were swollen and burning. I went in again to have them simply take a look and make sure nothing was seriously wrong. The dentist brought his "pathology" book out and read verbatim the descriptions of a condition. Told me to take some Benadryl and go see a dermatologist. That's fine, but the worst part is I had to pay for an exam. This is malpractice at it's finest and I would NOT recommend going here. I certainly will not be back. read more
