We were first introduced to Dale when my wife broke her front tooth, we got estimates all over durango (5 different dentists) we heard everything from $1,200 to 3,100 to fix one tooth!, when we got to Dale's office we were expecting more outlandish crap, he quoted us $280, fixed it that day, and two years later it still looks great! I had issues with sensitivity to hot, cold and sweets, but now that's over thanks to the thorough and effective work done by the staff here at Comfort Dental. The cleanings are especially quick and painless, and the practice has really proven to be one of the best in town. The atmosphere is especially welcoming for a dentist office, which reflects on the name of the place. I can safely say I've never had such a great experience at the dentist, and I will keep coming here for everything I need when it comes to my teeth.

I stopped in, told them what was going on and they had me fill out some paperwork as a new patient. There are about 3 dentists in this location located in Durango, Co. My dentist, was Dr. Todd Crandall. Very polite. Informative and answered any question I had and listened to my needs. They did an X-ray of the problem area, discovered I had an infection in the upper left side of my mouth that had no way of saving it because I had too much bone loss. The following weekend, Saturday, March 7th I came in to have the tooth extracted. Mind you, I am petrified of dentists. The assistant took me back, made me comfortable in the chair. Got me prepped for Dr. Crandall to come in. He numbed me and said he'd be back in about 7-8 minutes. While he was gone, his assistant brought me a nice cup of hot coffee! YES, COFFEE! ......try drinking that with a numb face and mouth! Haha! Dr. Crandall came back in, started the procedure and the whole thing was over as quickly as it started! My appointment was at 10 am......I was literally in the chair, spent a few minutes with the receptionist to pay my bill and back on the road by 10:25 a.m. The level of care I received far exceeded my expectations going in. They took someone who was petrified going in and turned into a grateful heart going out. If you don't have dental insurance they have a gold plan and they will work with you on payments too! While on my visit, I began experiencing severe pain in an area of my molar. The very next day it got so bad, my face eyes and cheeks had swelled and I could no longer manage it. I phoned my Lakewood, CO Dentist, whom has taken care of our family for over 30 plus years. She said "don't drive home, I know a colleague of mine from Dental School who now practices in Durango and Bayfield, CO." I immediately called this office at 801 Florida and was quickly taken care of. The receptionist ( all of them ) were compassionate and got me in the very next day. Dr. Courtney Heinicke and his Assistant Kiffanie were outstanding. They listened and had great touch in caring for my emergency. After a quick X-Ray it was clearly visible that the tooth had two cracks in it and could not be saved. I was emotionally tearful because I didn't want to loose it. They carefully explained the process to me and answered all my questions. Dr. Heinicke numbed me up quickly and proficiently. I became much more comforted by their care. The tooth came out quickly and my body was finally eased. They assured me that they were also available 24/7 if I had any post issues..... A on call Doctor was just a phone call away. I did not need any post care, I followed up with my Dentist when I came home from my visit. Thank you to this fantastic staff, they" kinda saved my life that day."

They put me on a waiting list for Friday and sure as anything - I get a call for 1 pm. The entire staff and the dentist were remarkable. I happen to have complicated dental problems and I felt well cared for in understanding the game plan. Connie, Jammy, and Abbie are excellent clinicians / admins and go out of their way to create a warm, caring, non-judgmental experience. It has been such a blessing. After an initial adjustment, it was easy to sleep with, & when traveling, it is so easy to carry in a small plastic container. august 17th, 2026 i…read moream writing this 5 star review because dr. miner took the time and care to talk to me about sleep apnea and that i swallowed incorrectly etc. i immediately because of his care..decided to pay for an informal sleep study at home which showed i had very low blood oxygen...i did not understand at the time and thought i had to have a formal overnight sleep study at mercy....which is impossible to get as my insurance company fights those all the way....anyways, i could have gotten a second study which would have confirmed my chronic sleep apnea with intermittent hypoxia meaning i stop breathing altogether in the night on and off and that puts a lot of un-needed stress on my heart and rest of my organs. thanks to dr. miner....he educated me further on my cleaning today that mercy will always state you need a cpap machine as that is all they know about and he educated me about a study that was done showing that the only real way to get a clear airway is by getting a "mandibular advancement device" and get a referral from the sleep specialist who i believe you can get a referrral thru his second study sleep check....as you must have a referral for a dentist to create the personalized mouth piece. now that i finally have the truth about cpap vs. non cpap and that the sleep study tech only knows cpap and is not medical...nor does the sleep specialist necessarily know all things mouth related per the dentist.....i feel confident that the way to go to clear my airway at night is to get a referral from the sleep specialist who did my overnight mercy study and tell them i specifically want this "mandibular advancement device" for my mouth and to have a dentist who is knowledgeable like dr. miner to put that in for me! so....thank you so much dr. miner for spontaneously teaching me about all things sleep apnea/ snoring/ intermittent hypoxia where my body stops breathing during the night etc etc...plus info on a myofunctional therapist who is knowledgeable in sleep disorders and sleep disorder breathing who i can work online with to learn how to properly swallow and breathe. also fun educational fact that is so important: 80% of americans have some form of sleep disorder and they go undiagnosed because their pcp says absolutely nothing about overnight sleep studies....and this can create even in children add/adhd...plus take at least 10 years off your life as your heart gets stressed every night with lack of oxygen. you may "think" you are getting your sleep ...but until you definitely get an in home sleep study and then a second one to verify...you have zero idea yourself....it's like having cancer and not knowing it until you do a collateral test to rule out sleep disorder! i wish my pcp's would have told me over the past 5 years plus i have been complaining of lack of sleep...they are like: hear no evil, see no evil, speak nothing .....educated yourself....make an appointment with dr. miner to help you with your snoring, sleep issues....he will set you straight and get you back to sleeping for real at night and extend your life by a good 10 years! god bless dr. miner...keep on educating.....as the pcp's are doing zero on this....they don't want the insurance co to have to pay for sleep studies.....they took an oath though of do no harm and they are harming by not educating....dr. miner is keeping his hippocratic do no harm oath. he has integrity....courage...and knows what he is doing around sleep and all things sleep related and how to get you really and truly breathing 100% at night every night! carol despres very happy to have spontaneously come across dr. miner's dentistry practice!!!!
